"So.. Who do you want to call?" ask Renald's mother.
"Friends. That helped me at that time. Men"
"Is he an Elder?" ask Renald's mother again. Allana nodded. "What level of the elder?"
"Uhm.. I don't remember."
"Then is he wearing a bracelet?"
"Wristbands?"
"It's impossible for a man to wear a bracelet. It's so weird." Renald commented.
"All Elders are required to wear an Elder bracelet, Ren. Both men and women. It was to call each other and signify that they were Elders. Even the bracelet has a level. So is your friend wearing a bracelet? The bracelet for a moment looked like smoke. It's green or blue or white."
"Gee! Aye! It's green!"
"Say he's the middle Elder. He's pretty strong."
"Surely the magician's power is determined from the bracelet?" ask Renald.
"Not determined by Renald's bracelet. Everything has stages. They also chose the Elder not haphazardly. Not everyone can be an Elder. At the very lowest was a young Elder, usually one who had just become an Elder, marked with their oversized clothes and their blue bracelet. The middle elder, like Allana's friend, meant a highly trained Elder. He has gone through the early stages. His clothes and bracelet are green. And top of the elder Elder. Wearing oversized white clothes and white bracelets, like you used to, remember?"
Renald shrugged both of his shoulders. " I don't think I need to know that."
"There's actually one way that ordinary humans can contact witches, especially Elders. You know his name, right?"
Allana nodded. "Know, Jim Mayhthem."
Renald's mother crouched down to draw something on the paper.
"That's.. What's?" ask Allana.
"Magic diagram."
Renald's mother wrote Jim Mayhthem's name. Renald's mother burned the diagram.
"Just like that? Without spells?"
"Just like that. But the success rate is very low. Because they don't use spells. So we'll just wait."
"Wait? How long?"
"See Ren, not sure. As I said earlier, the success rate is very low. But Allana knows the Elder's name and rank. Maybe it can help."
"Ease it." muttered Allana.
"What do you really want to do with your witch friend?"
"Ahh I just-"
"Gipz!" one man came to them in a hurry.
"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" asked Renald who saw one of his gamma panicked.
"There was.. There's a guest."
"Guests?" rework Renald. The gamma nodded. "Is Ted home?"
"There's alpha. Beta sent me here."
'Tied? What was? Why not just mindlink?' Renald mindlink Ted's. He wondered why Ted had a gamma. Surprisingly Ted did not answer.
"Allana, I have to go home first. Wait for your friend here."
"Is there a problem?" allana asked who saw Renald looked serious.
"No, just the arrival of guests. I'll meet them first."
"Who?" ask Renald's mother. Renald.
"Something."
Renald runs with his gamma towards his house while Allana and Renald's mother are still at the border.
"What.. Likely to be long?" ask Allana.
"I can't be sure. Tell you what." Renald's mom wrote something on paper. The paper was placed on the ground with a rock on it so as not to fly in the wind. "It has. On that paper is Renald's home phone number or mine. I also wrote your friend's name. So if he sees the paper, he'll call."
"Okay, thank you, madam."
"Don't mistress, mother only. I'm Renald's mother and you're friends." Renald's mother smiled
"Good, mom."
Allana looks awkward calling mother to her mother Renald.
"Now, let's go back. I've been wondering who Renald's guest is." Renald's mother took Allana's hand.
At the gate of the castle, already gathered a few people, trying to enter. Some have been screaming, swearing.
Renald was surprised when he just arrived.
"What is this?!" asked Renald shouting for his voice to be heard. Everyone was silent and looking. Some people paved the way for Renald who walked close to the fence.
"Arthur?"
"Finally. You showed up too. I'm tired of waiting." said Arthur. He stood up from his seat on the log.
"What are you doing here and making a fuss? It's Zykolt's pack."
"I know what pack this is, I'm not stupid."
"Why are you here for?"
"Take something that belongs to me."
"Yours? Inhere? It seems crazy. I will never touch what is yours. So go away."
"really? But you touched it. You took her away without my permission." Arthur looked at Renald sharply. Renald frowned. "Allana."
Renald just woke up. He forgot that Allana was Arthur's mate.
"Give Allana to me. She's mine."
"He's not an item."
"But he's mine. Not yours."
Renald. Yes, it's true Allana is the mate. But where has he been all this time? Why just show up now?
Allana had just come and stood next to Erica who was watching Renald and Arthur.
"What's wrong? Who's coming?" allana asked Erica.
"Your mate, Arthur."
"Arthur's? Why is he here? And she's not my mate."
"He's here to pick you up Al, he's offering you protection."
"What's he doing that for?"
"You're the mate, All. Naturally he provides protection for his mate. It should be so."
"But I'm not the mate. How many times have I told you!"
Erica looked at Allana, trying to find a little lie there. But he didn't find it at all.
"I'm not even interested in him at all." muttered Allana. He did not look at Arthur, but rather he looked at Renald. Yeah, he likes it. Allana admitted that.
Renald walked towards Allana.
"I know you're the mate but I'm handing you the decision." Renald said. "You're the mate, but that doesn't mean he can control you. The choice is yours, Allana." Renald said. Allana. Why is this all so complicated?
"Auntie..."
"I'm just suggesting, Ren. She's mate Arthur and you took her without saying anything. Of course he's angry."
"Renald knows. I helped her purely because she was my friend. I don't need to ask her permission to help my friend. He hasn't even claimed Allana yet."
"But Renald, there will be misunderstandings and eventually there will be a two-pack fight."
"Renald doesn't care, aunt. Renald didn't do anything wrong."
His aunt could only sigh in the face of her nephew's stubbornness. Allana was silent. He really didn't want to leave but he didn't want to be the trigger for the pack fight either.
...***...
There was a slow moan from Gyria. His eyes began to open slowly. He tried to move his body. His body felt very sick but strangely unable to move, like being bound to something. Gyra tried to see clearly. But his head hurts too much. Gyria closed her eyes. He let out a long sigh repeatedly, hoping that with that his headache would lessen. Gyra tried to open her eyes. Right straight from his body was, he could see the bonfire blazing gallantly. It's dark. He saw some people near the fire. Sometimes he grimaces in pain. Now he realized, his body had been tied to a tree in a sitting position. Looks like his hand broke.
"Gyria..."
Gyra heard a whisper calling her name. Gyria. He found Derek who had also been bound, calling out to him.
"You... All right?" ask Derek. From the look on his face he looked very worried. Gyria did not reply, only nodded. He saw that Derek's sweatshirt had a lot of blood stains. His head still had blood left. Although it was dark, Gyria could see the rest of the blood.
"Finally... You're up." One woman came to Gyria. "Long sleep, princess."
A hard slap landed on Gyria's cheek.
"Stop!" sahut Crane. "He is bound and helpless!"
"Hey you're a fool! Just shut up there! Are you stupid or what? Could be willing to deliver this jal*ng" said the woman.
"I think you're the stupid one." Melisa was already behind the woman. The woman looked. "He did that I'm sure because Gyria is his mate."
The woman was surprised. He looked at the bowed Gyria and then looked at Derek in turn.
"really?" the woman still couldn't believe it.
"I'm glad you woke up Gyria, so I can do my job. You know what my job is?" ask Melisa.
"Kill me" said Gyria softly.
"Ding ding deng... Right enough. And I'll make sure you die a slow and painful death." Melisa smile. Gyria looked at him furiously. "Oh don't look at me like that. It's not all about personal. But the orders of luna. Yours."
"She's not my lunae anymore." said Gyria without looking at Melisa.
"Good then. I'm sure luna also doesn't want to have a member like you, a traitor."
Sruk!!
Gyria shouted out loudly. Melisa had just stabbed her thigh hard and rough.
"Stop! Enough's enough! I won't let..."
"Oh beta Derek. Take it easy, we're not gonna kill you. We won't add to the problem by fighting your pack. At least it's not time." Melisa smiled back then looked at Gyria. "Ohh... Does that hurt? Ii'm sorry. But I need my knife back."
"No! No I beg you.. Don't take the knife. He could be bleeding heavily."
"Then what do you care? Because he's your mate? But don't you have a lover? Ahh no! Fiancee. You're getting married soon, right? Just chill. I'll help you. I will remove this girl******** for you and you will be free with your fiancee. Married and have children."
Melisa's hand touched the knife that stuck in Gyria's thigh. Gyria closed her eyes.
"No! I beg you not to." Derek said again.
"You're really hard to understand ya beta. Actually you want your fiancee or her. You have to choose one, beta. Don't be greedy!"
Melisa wanted to take her knife but suddenly heard a scream from her pack members. Some Wolves had attacked them even in numbers. The wolf killed and tortured the pack members of Melisa. One of the front wolves with red eyes came to Melisa. Melisa could barely move at all, she could not turn into a wolf. The wolf growled furiously and violently. Although with his wolf form, the look on his face was clearly very angry. Melisa looks scared, she looks intimidated. The red-eyed wolf turned into a human. He's alpha Dwaine, Derek's alpha.
"How dare you captivate and torture my Bet. Let them go or you and your men will be the dead tonight. I don't care who your lunas are."
Melisa looked at her army. "Let's go!"
The members of the Crysort pack ran away from there.
"Are we after, alpha?" ask one person.
"No, no. Just leave them. Let go of these two."
Some people move and untie Derek and Gyria. Derek went straight to alpha Dwaine.
"I'm sorry, alpha. I've made you worry."
"Worried you say? You just leave without telling me and then you decide your mindlink. You know very well how the relationship between alpha and beta but you still do such Stupidity?! Are you crazy?!"
"I can't say anything, Alpha. I'm guilty." Derek lowered his head.
"What about the girl?" ask alpha Dwaine.
"He's not okay, alpha. His leg was stabbed by a knife and his right hand was broken" said one person who freed Gyria.
"Then we rest here. We have a lot of members, so it'll be fine."
"Beck, alpha."
Everyone sit down and relax. Only a few people were standing guard around. Gyria sat leaning against the tree. This time without a tie. He stared at the knife stuck in his thigh. He knew if he took off the knife his blood would come out. Gyra sat a little far away from them. He wants to be alone. His body turned back on the other members. He even thought about Leysha. I don't know where Leysha's body is. Maybe they burned it or just dumped the body.
"Why are you sitting here in the dark?" Derek just came.
"It's none of your business."
Derek sat next to Gyria. "Are you okay?" Derek checked Gyria's body. There may be other injuries.
"I'm doing fine. Just worry about yourself." said Gyra without looking.
"Rest. Said the alpha we left early in the morning."
Gyria did not answer. He just stared into the darkness in front of him. Derek faced Gyria and looked at her.
"Listen to me Gy. Leysha was calm, in a better place. I know he's your best friend. But he'll be so sad to see you like this."
Gyria looked at Derek. "That's my business. Don't interfere. And you'd better go over to your side of the alphabet and don't bother me."
"So I'm bothering you?"
"Hmm right. So leave. I beg you." Gyria turned her face away. Derek looked at her for a moment. He then placed his hand on Gyra's cheek, making Gyria turn her head instantly in shock. Not yet exhausted Gyria's surprise, suddenly Derek's lips touched his lips. Gyria was surprised. He pushed Derek's body away. Derek's body was only pushed up slightly, barely noticeable. Derek looked at Gyria.
"Stop blaming yourself. You're not wrong, Gyria. All this happened because it had to happen. I'm sorry, but that doesn't mean you have to keep blaming yourself. I'm sure Leysha also said the same thing as me."
"But I can't stop." Gyria's tears dripped. Head bowed. "I can't stop."
Derek held Gyria's chin and raised his head.
"You can. You should be able to. It's okay to look weak once in a while, Gyria. That doesn't mean you're a weakling."
Derek hugged Gyria. Gyria cries in Derek's arms. Derek lets Gyria cry until Gyria feels better. After a while, Gyria's cries subsided. Although it still sounded as hiccuping as once in a while, but he was not hysterical anymore. Gyria took off her embrace from Derek. He wiped his tears.
"Do you feel better?" ask Derek.
"Already, beta. Thank you for letting me cry. Now back. Alpha must be looking for you." Gyria again was polite to Derek.
"It's okay, Gyria. I've-"
"Please go, beta. I'm a nobody so don't mind me. You better care about your alpha." Gyria knows Derek is her mate. He also believes Derek knows that. From Derek's initial attitude of not liking him, he knew he would be rejected. Moreover, he now knows about Derek's fiancee. He has no hope. He believes Derek did all of this because he was Allana's friend.
"Nobody did you say?"
Gyria sighed then looked at Derek. "really. So I'm mo-"
Derek kissed her again. Gyria tries to keep Derek's body away again, but Derek doesn't budge. Even their lips do not touch. Derek deepened their kiss. Gyria was still trying to escape. But Derek's hug is too strong. He had no choice but to give up.
