Chapter 260: Night Romance
Alberto walks into Hamish's room in the hospital and sees Irene sitting by Hamish's bedside. He approached Irene and sat down next to her.
"Irene, how's Hamish doing?" ask Alberto.
"Dad Raise, Brother Hamish is still unconscious after the operation. He was shot in the chest, "Irene replied as she cried softly. He hugged Alberto like a child complaining to his father.
Alberto put his hand over Irene's shoulder and said, "Don't worry, everything will be fine." he wiped the tears that ran down Irene's cheeks. The teenage boy who used to be very troublesome has now grown into an adult woman but is more whiny.
Alan opened the room door carefully, followed by a doctor who gave him news of Hamish's condition. "What's Hamish's condition, doc?" Irene asked worriedly.
"The conditions are stabilizing, miss," the doctor replied with a relieved smile. "However, he still has to be treated here for the next few days until his condition is completely recovered."
Irene and Alberto were so relieved to hear the good news. "Thank you very much, doctor," Irene said with a sigh of relief.
"Alright, I'll leave you to rest" the doctor said as he strode towards the door. "Don't worry, I'll make sure Hamish gets the best care."
After the doctor left, Alberto turned to Irene and Alan. "You two must be tired" said Alberto. "You should go home and rest. I've booked a hotel room near here."
"Thank you, Father Lift up," Irene replied gently. "But, I'm so bad to let Father Lift take care of Brother Hamish alone here."
"Just relax, I have a lot of people to help care for the sick patient" Alberto replied with a smile. "You two should go home and rest. I'll take care of everything here."
Alan and Irene nodded, relieved that Hamish would be cared for by Irene's trusted foster father. They say good-bye to Alberto and leave the hospital to return to the hotel and rest.
"Ah, yes! I almost forgot." Alberto stopped Irene and Alan's footsteps.
"I have to tell you about something important" he said seriously.
The curious Irene and Alan looked at Alberto attentively.
"I've been seeing Pastor Gabriel and talking about the marriage that took place between Irene and Hamish."
Irene bowed listlessly listening to the topic that her foster father would discuss. However, he really has gone through the wedding procession even though he had to. Before Hamish was unconscious, they also still had time to fuss about the matter. He was afraid that Alan could not accept it.
Alan clasped Irene's hand. Whatever happens, he is determined to keep Irene by his side.
"The marriage was declared invalid or officially annulled religiously because there was an element of coercion on the part of Hamish" Alberto explained.
Irene and Alan looked at each other with relief.
"Prince Gabriel doesn't know that one of the brides is under threat. So, it's been established that the marriage was considered never to have happened" Alberto said.
"Irene, now you and Alan can continue your life together in peace and quiet. You don't have to feel guilty or worried anymore" Alberto added.
Alberto hugged Irene tightly. "You are my daughter. I'll always protect and help you." He seemed to love Irene very much.
"Thank you for everything, Dad" Irene said, hugging Alberto. He wanted to say thank you dozens of times so happy.
"You two be careful on your way home. Don't worry about Hamish, I'll take good care of him" Alberto said with a smile.
Irene and Alan thanked her again before leaving the hospital feeling relieved and happy. They can now continue to live together without burden and guilt.

After taking care of all the affairs related to Hamish's condition, Irene and Alan decided to stay at a hotel in Paris. Both of them feel tired and need a break after experiencing a fairly dramatic event.
That night, they spent time sitting on the balcony of the hotel overlooking the beautiful Eiffel Tower. The romantic night atmosphere makes them closer and friendlier. Irene felt happy to be with Alan, her loved one all this time.
"I haven't felt a moment like this for a long time" Irene said with a smile.
"Whatever happens, I'll always be there for you" Alan replied as he stroked Irene's hair.
They then switch to talking about their future plans, such as vacationing together and pursuing their dreams. Irene was delighted to be able to talk about positive things with Alan after a difficult time.
"We have to celebrate this moment" Alan said. "Maybe we can go on vacation together later after everything's done."
Irene smiled in agreement, "Yes, that would be a lot of fun."
"We can start our own business, or explore the world together" Alan said.
Irene agreed and was happy to be able to talk about positive things after going through difficult times.
"Now we have to focus on our future" Irene said. "We must build our own happiness." Alan nodded and pulled Irene to hug him.
"Now I feel like everything is going to be fine" Irene said as she looked at Alan.
"You know why?" alan asked while looking at Irene.
"Why?" reply Irene.
"Because I love you" Alan replied sincerely.
Irene felt her heart melt hearing Alan's words. The two embrace each other and kiss each other, celebrating their happy moment. They promise to always support and be happy together.
They both enjoyed a quiet and romantic evening. Irene felt so grateful to have Alan always supported and loved her. They promise to support and survive each other in their new lives.
