The kitchen was filled with the fragrant aroma of pancakes being baked on the stove. Adila, with a thin face, looked with dissatisfaction at the results of the pancakes produced by Arvy. He stepped forward, looking at Arvy with a sharp look.
Adila scrunched her eyebrows. "Arvy, this is not the way to make pancakes right! How many times have I told you, but you still don't understand it!" his protest.
Arvy tried to stay calm. "Darling, I'm trying my best. You know I'm not a chef." He continued to focus on the dough he was cooking.
For life, Arvy hardly ever cooks in the kitchen. There is no talent for cooking. The only thing he could make was instant noodles. Just for the sake of Adila who he says desperately wants the pancakes seen in the magazine, Arvy takes pains to make the cake for her.
Adila shook her head in annoyance. "That's no excuse, Arvy! This pancake is not edible! It tastes bad, the texture is too dry. You always make mistakes in everything!"
Arvy is losing patience. "Adila, I tried. Why don't you appreciate my efforts? I'm not a professional chef and I never claimed to be."
Adila raised a voice. "I'm tired of your excuses! You can learn, right? You can try harder to do these simple things well!"
Adila was too light to say her words. Arvy was so offended to hear that. He has been trying to be patient with the annoying nature of Adila.
Arvy was getting angry. "Don't blame me for your dissatisfaction! I tried, but you always demanded more and more. Isn't love about accepting the flaws and advantages of our partner?" he said with a high tone.
Adila gritted her teeth. "This is a trivial matter, he said to please me. Here's how the protests go!"
"Hey!" shouts Arvy. "So you underestimated me just like that, Adila? You think life is just about cooking and who is better in the kitchen? I can't continue living with unrealistic expectations like this!"
Arvy took off his apron violently and threw it in any direction. He turned off the stove and no longer wanted to continue what he had been doing.
Adila looked at Arvy cynically. "You question my expectations? Maybe we're not in line on this!"
The woman seemed unwilling to give up. Even when looking at Arvy's anger does not make Adila daunted. In fact, Arvy never once angry with Adila.
Arvy took a deep breath. "I guess everything I've done all this time means nothing to you at all."
There are many things that Arvy has done for Adila. It was like love died to that woman. During Adila's disappearance, Arvy becomes the most worried and busy person to discover Adila's whereabouts. Time and energy have been sacrificed for his lover. Even a career that is soaring is not so he cares.
After Adila was discovered, her attitude changed drastically. Arvy is still patiently accepting Adila's attitude of suddenly becoming resentful of her. He tried to do anything to be accepted by Adila. Even his pride was trampled.
However, everything that had been done did not make Adila moved to accept her. Even just because of their pancakes can fight like now.
"Why? You want to count with me? When do I tell you to do what I want? Don't you want it yourself?" satir Adila with a cynical look.
Their quarrels stole the attention of some servants who were there. They did not dare to approach and could only see from a distance.
"You're risking our relationship just because of this?" ask Arvy. He glanced around and felt somewhat embarrassed quarrels reverberating to the sight of others.
"Yes, if you want to give up, please. Breaking up is also not a problem" Adila said lightly.
Arvy biting lips. He did not expect the problem of pancakes could lead to a fight. He took his homemade pancakes and ate them with a peeved squeeze.
"I don't think this pancake is that bad" he said after tasting his own dishes.
"That's what you think. Low taste! That's the most delicious pancake I've ever eaten!" tymphal Adila.
Their quarrels are getting heated up. Angry words continued to be thrown, hitting each other with their feelings and egos. No one wants to retreat, no one wants to find a middle ground. They lock their eyes on each other, feeling marginalized and unappreciated.
There is no sign of peace in this situation. The quarrel further distanced them from each other, making a deepening gap between their once harmonious relationship. They get caught up in stubbornness, no one wants to give understanding or give in. The tension in the kitchen is mounting, reflecting the unsolved disagreements between them.
Arvy looks very disappointed. "Yes, it's up to you. Our taste may be different," he said.
"Thank God you were conscious!" said Adila.
Arvy took a long breath. "We're going through our relationship, Adila. I couldn't stand it anymore" he said with earnest eyes.
"Good! Don't ever see me again!" firmly Adila.
Arvy just put on a disappointed smile. He grabbed the jacket on the table and hurried to leave Adila.
