20 Years Adrift
Chapters 19. Meet School Friends

The views of the distro employees were diverted from Aira when several young people entered the distro. This situation was used to escape by Aira. When the clerk was off guard he slipped away quietly.

Not wanting her action to be caught, Aira moved quickly after feeling safe.

'Soon I have to find Om Affan. I'm not comfortable here. I'll ask Om Affan to finish his needs immediately.' Aira monologues in heart.

The distro was quite crowded due to the school holiday. Aira tried to be careful while walking, albeit at a rapid pace. He smiles when he finds the person he is looking for. He sped up his steps to approach her.

"Of Affan!" call Aira when her husband is unaware of her presence.

Affan stopped and turned to look for the source of the voice. His face was bright when he saw Aira walking towards him.

Someone was secretly watching him and recording what he was doing. The person smiled in satisfaction after successfully obtaining a very clear picture. When Aira walked up to him she immediately finished her recording and saved her phone.

"I don't like the clothes here. Om Affan doesn't mind, right, if I want to buy via online only." Aira said her point while walking on Affan's side.

"No problem. Your ATM card is ready. Bimo will take him home. You can also use internet banking to transact," Affan explained.

Aira's face wasn't so happy listening to Affan's promised ATM. As a wife who has not fully carried out her duties, this becomes a burden.

"But, Om. Is Om not afraid I'm just using Om's money? We haven't done ...." Aira did not continue her words.

Affan looked mediocre in response to Aira's words. As a man who has grown up, whatever he does has gone through mature thinking.

"I'm sincere, Aira. I never thought of it that way. You're my responsibility, there's no use in a marriage relationship." Affan spoke in a soft voice.

The sight was seen as a friendly thing for people who saw it. Their slow pace finally brought the two to the front of the cashier.

The officer who had been watching Aira had kept looking at the two. Affan is a customer of this distro. Usually he came with Bimo to this place, it was unexpected that the poor-looking woman was his relative.

The cashier who received the clothes that Affan chose was stunned. Although Affan looked young, but this woman before him looked much younger. Maybe they will faint if they know that they are a couple of different ages with a difference of 20 years.

Aira helps Affan carry a paper bag containing Affan's clothes. They turned to leave the cashier table after completing the payment. Not yet had they stepped, someone came with a few strands of clothes attached to the arms.

Aira's face turned pale. Now he stands face to face with his schoolmates.

"I-iya .. I'm Aira."

Seeing his wife so nervous, Affan thought about finding an excuse so they could get out of there soon.

"Em, we still have some interest. Sorry, Aira Aki brought it, yeah." Affan smiled at Sofia without lingering at her to keep his eyes on her.

Sofia nodded with a smile. Affan's face fascinates him until he forgets the things around him.

"Assalamualaikum" Affan said before leaving in front of Sofia.

"Wa'alaikum salutations." Sofia is stunned until Affan and Aira disappear behind a row of clothes.

Anggie and her two other friends pat Sofia on the shoulder. They shook their heads when they found his friend daydreaming.

"Anggie! Ngagetin. It's a good thing I don't have heart disease, I could have it until it happened" Sofia said.

"He is Affan Karim, an entrepreneur who has a shining career today. Her daughter is Faya, Aira's best friend," Anggie explained.

"His daughter is Faya, then how the story goes he went with Aira who incidentally is a friend of his daughter. They look so close and have almost no distance." Sofia was astonished.

"We'll talk later over a drink." Anggie turned around and gave his clothes to the cashier.

Aira left Affan's groceries out of the distro at the cashier's desk and he soon followed Affan to take a trolley. After the incident at the distro, he didn't want to get far from Affan.

Affan did not mind the gazes of those who were thinking about the relationship of the two.

Ardi who saw the two enter the super market pretended not to see and then quietly followed them in.
