20 Years Adrift

20 Years Adrift
Chapter 58. Ex-cousin

A very familiar woman ran up to him. The woman hugged Affan.

Actually Affan tried to dodge by moving backwards. However, his pace was less fast, the woman bumped into him and made it difficult to dodge.

"Astaghfirullah, Sintya, don't be like this! Someone will feel misunderstood if you see you holding me like this."

Affan opened his hand and tried to push the woman named Sintya away. It looks like Sintya did it on purpose and does not want to let go of Affan.

Affan's driver who was also standing there was dumbstruck to see the woman's action. As Affan's driver who has worked for many years, he knows very well what the nature of his employer is.

"Right, Madam, please respect Mr. Affan. It's not good for two strangers to hug in a public place."

If Affan alone is not harried, where maybe Sintya will listen to the words of his driver. Sintya even pretended to deepen his crying by continuing to sob.

A car approached and stopped right next to them.

This time Affan didn't want to make a mistake. With all his might he pushed Sintya's body to the point of making her stagger.

Affan's driver immediately caught him and helped him stand up properly. Meanwhile Affan flicked the former embrace of Sintya with his hand with an annoyed face.

"Sorry, Mas. It's been making you wait so long." Aira took Affan's hand and kissed the back of his hand.

Actually he saw Affan was hugging a woman when his car started to enter the place. However, he did not want to discuss it at this moment.

"No, Honey. I just finished the meeting."

Feeling ignored, Sintya came forward before them with his face still swollen. She has lived in Australia with her husband.

A few months ago they divorced until he chose to return to Indonesia and reorganize his life. Just a week after she arrived, she had no idea that Affan was married.

"Who is he? Last news I heard you weren't married after my cousin's departure." Sintya looked at Aira and Affan alternately.

'So this woman is a cousin of the late mother Kayra. Looks like he has other feelings for Mas Affan.'

Affan grabbed Aira's hand and grasped it as if he wanted to cement their status in Sintya's eyes.

"Include me, this is Aira, my wife" Affan said, glancing at Aira meaningfully.

Sintya's face looked doubtful but she immediately greeted Aira's hand and replied, "Sintya."

"It's nice to meet you. I hope we can be good friends after this."

Aira's sweet attitude made her look more mature.

'I'm sure you must have seen Sintya holding me, Aira. This attitude of yours makes me feel ashamed of myself. I should have been more able to keep your feelings.'

"We're in a hurry. Till later. Assalamu'alaikum." Affan pulled Aira's hand and took her away. They walked towards the shopping mall that had been their destination from the very beginning.

"Wait, Affan. I also want to shop there. I'm sorry I didn't answer your regards because I didn't want to go yet."

Affan did not want to argue with Sintya. She chose to continue walking with Aira and ignored Sintya who was walking beside her.

"Who's the caterpillar?" ask Mr. Toni to Mr. Danang, Affan's driver.

"So I was with her cousin the late Mrs Kayra. It looks like there will be sparks between the three of them." Danang shook his head anxiously.

"Mr Affan loves Mrs Aira very much, I'm sure that no matter how hard she struggles, Mr. Affan will not be easily tempted" said Mr. Toni.

"Hopefully so."

Their conversation stopped. They chose to be quiet and wait for what would happen after this.

Sintya hid the fact that she had finished shopping. For the sake of approaching Affan he was willing to pretend to shop. The mall staff no one knew him.
