20 Years Adrift

20 Years Adrift
Chapter 82. Superfluity

Hendro looked at Hana for a bit and then refocused on his work.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Mr. Affan," said Hendro after arriving in front of Affan.

"Wa'alaikum salam. Thanks for bringing him here." Affan stared at the file in Hendro's hand that was not handed to him.

"Ah, you're welcome, sir. Sorry." Hendro looks nervous.

The sight he had just seen made it difficult to concentrate. There were a lot of questions in his head. To be honest, he still feels shocked.

"What do you think about what you just saw?" ask Affan.

Hendro looks ragged. He did not expect that Affan would give him any unexpected questions. His shock at what he had just seen had not disappeared is now added to Affan's question.

"Em, I .. I .. I don't dare to argue, sir. Let's just say I didn't see anything." Hendro chose the safe step.

Affan snorted violently until heard by Hendro.

"You don't have to be afraid. I didn't do anything with Hana. It's all just a misunderstanding. He accidentally fell, didn't he?" tanya Affan tests Hana's honesty.

Instead of answering, Hana instead deepened her sobbing.

Hendro was confused as to what was really going on. He looked at Affan and Hana alternately with a clueless look.

"Alright, Hana. You are happy to play with fire. Don't think I can't be firm on a woman." Affan talks like this because he has CCTV hidden in his room.

Everything Hana did was clearly recorded. Even if he denies it, the evidence will show the truth.

"What are you talking about, sir? I just want justice. What would people say about me if this news spread out. I'm so embarrassed, sir." Hana issued an ambiguous sentence to make Hendro increasingly misunderstand Affan.

Blood in Affan's body felt up into the crown. She did not expect that Hana would say that. It was the same as herding Hendro to corner himself.

"Astaghfiullah!" Affan tries to control himself considering that what he is facing right now is a woman.

His hands clenched with breaths that looked up and down restraining emotions.

Hendro's getting scared. He wanted to get out of that place as soon as possible. However, he did not dare to do so before Affan allowed him to leave.

The atmosphere in the room became tense. Affan forgot that Aira was there at the moment. Anger that overwhelms him makes it difficult to think clearly.

After a long time of patience in her hiding place, Aira finally decided to come out. The drama made by Hana must end soon before everything becomes more and more runnyam. There will be untrue news that will continue to grow.

His slow footsteps may not be heard clearly. However, a flash of his shadow made everyone in the room turn to him. They gasped and suddenly turned pale as if they were seeing a ghost.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Do you think I'm a ghost?" Aira walked past the three then sat casually on the sofa.

Affan moved from his place and walked over to Aira.

"Darling, I hope you don't misunderstand me. I can prove that I didn't tease Hana. By God, I'm not that kind of man." Affan tries to convince Aira not to believe anything Hana says.

"I know," replied Aira casually.

Hendro gasped at Aira's reply. Judging from her relaxed attitude, she thought that Aira did know what was happening in the room before she came.

'Thank God, Lady Aira is here. I've been confused to defend who. Of course Hana just wanted to get Mr. Affan's attention. I think his polite appearance reflects his good demeanor. Actually not.' Hendro glanced at Hana with a dislike look.

Aira's arrival makes Hana nervous. His cry suddenly stopped with a hand that continued to move irregularly. His face was bowed thinking about what would happen after this.

"Hana!" call Aira.

Aira's soft voice made Hana flinch. His head reflexively lifted and looked towards Aira.

"Yes, Madam." Hannah answered nervously.

"Come here!" aira's orders.

Hana's body was trembling. His feelings are getting mixed. Although not looking angry, Aira became a very scary figure for him.

His heartbeat that pumped blood faster made his hands turn cold. Hana clasped her hands together with each other.

"Sit down!" Aira pointed at a single sofa that was in front of her.

Hana hesitantly sat there and looked down again.

Aira looked at him for quite a while. A moment later he closed his eyes and sighed. His therapy made his mood calmer.

Affan did not come to talk and chose to give Aira a chance to remove her teeth.

Hana's eyeballs are rounded. His heart seemed to have stopped while his honesty was being tested.

"I ... I didn't mean to" Hana said with a bowed face.

"Then? Mas Affan who means the same thing as you, is that it?" ask Aira again. This time his voice was slightly raised.

Hana's speechless. He thought about making Aira side with him.

'Looks like Aira doesn't know the truth yet. I can use that by saying that Affan is not as good as he thinks he is. After all Affan was a normal man.' Hana dreams of tricking Aira easily.

"You must not trust too much in a man, ma'am. Just take me as an example where my household was destroyed by a third person." Hannah began to dare to reason.

Affan clenched his hand and prepared to reply to Hana. However, everything he did when he saw Aira's gaze that signaled him to be quiet.

"That won't happen to my household, Hana. We have a strong love. Marriage is a promise that must be accounted for to the Owner of Life. If your goal is just to make me jealous then it won't work. I actually noticed what you were doing in this room and what you were talking to my husband about" Aira explained.

Hana's face instantly turned pale. It's hard to avoid Aira's questions. Not wanting to dodge anymore, Hana chose to keep going even though she was wrong.

"All right, I'll tell you the truth. You're too small for Mr. Affan. Your age is so much different. I'm sure Mr. Affan needs another, more mature figure with all his understanding. You're not being too greedy, ma'am. Mr. Affan was able to marry three or four wives, give another woman a chance to be a part of her life" Hana replied fieryly.

Aira shook her head slowly.

"It's hard to talk to shameless people. Polygamy is not prohibited, even guaranteed paradise for people who run it according to sharia. However, not all men want to do it even though he is capable. He chose to reach heaven without hurting his wife and the woman who would be the mother of his children." Aira replied to Hana's words with a striking explanation.

Hendro admires Aira's intelligence and maturity. In her eyes she was a perfect woman. No wonder her boss chose her to be a wife.

The debate between Aira and Hana will be endless. Affan doesn't want to waste his time taking care of a cunning woman like Hana. He will continue to make a mess with different motives every day.

"You've crossed your line, Hana. Actually I feel sorry for your messy life. As a single parent, you have to live both of your children alone. However, you are abusing someone's kindness to fulfill your desires. Sorry, from today you can find another job. Hendro will help take care of the administrative settlement for you." Affan took firm action on Hana.

Hearing the dismissal made by Affan to her, Hana's body felt weak. He got out of his chair and sat down before Affan and Aira.

"I admit wrong, sir, Madam. Please forgive me. I promise I won't do it again" beg Hana.

"I'm sorry, Hana. I can't give you another chance to work here." Affan refuses Hana's request.

Seeing Hana's sad face, Aira felt pity. Shaded by him the innocent face of Sapphira. It would be unfair to just cut off the path of the child's fortune.

"Alright, Sir. I'm gonna stop working at this company." Hana no longer had a face in front of Affan and Aira.

For a moment the room became quiet. There's no sound there.

"Hendro! You pay double the salary of the few days Hana does here" Affan said. He was still merciful by doubling Hana's salary twice.

"Okay, sir," replied Hendro.

"Yes, already. You can leave now!" Affan no longer wanted to see Hana in his room.

But suddenly Aira stood up and stopped them.

"Wait!" prevent Aira.

Aira stood up and walked to a table to get her bag. In it there is a lot of cash. He picked it up carelessly and stuffed it into a brown envelope.

"This is my personal little money. You can use it for business. Pity your children if you have to work outside the home. Hope you can make good use of this money." Aira thrust the brown envelope in front of Hana.

Instead of accepting it straight away, Hana even melengos.

"You take it easy, madam. I won't bother Mr. Affan again even if you don't give me money." Hana pulled up next to the tip of her lips and smiled sinisterly.

Aira stroked her chest. It is true that people say that every good intention will be judged well by a heart that has no goodness in it.

"Astaghfirullah's. Farahfar, Hana. You cannot tell which is sincerity and which is falsehood. Whether you accept it or not. I'm giving this not to you but to your children." This time Aira's face really looked very upset.

Hana stared at the brown envelope in Aira's hand. His mind is at war between a sense of prestige and a sense of wanting to have. Although there is no mention of the amount, the money is not small.
