A Little Hope For Ashma
14. Hard-headed woman

Ashma was astonished when a lot of dress clothes bought by Adam along with hijab various models, the man was indeed very royal and too excessive.

“I just need some Adam,” Ashma protest because she can't accept Adam's over-the-top gift.

Adam glanced at Ashma at a glance and then looked back at the laptop in front of him. “You're my wife, so there's no harm in buying anything for you. Just wear it, if you don't want to just throw away some.” Ashma widened her eyes, her feet stepping closer to Adam who was busy with his laptop.

“Ba-okay I will accept everything.”

Adam did not give any more response but Ashma was still silent before Adam, actually she wanted to say something to her husband but saw Adam who was busy once Ashma also undo his intentions.

Adam stopped his typing hand. His eyes fell on Ashma again and he rose slowly from his chair. “To be honest, what exactly do you want to say?” Adam put one hand in his pants pocket.

Ashma scratched her right cheek that was not itchy, she was a little embarrassed actually when Adam found out about her gelagat.

“I-it..There's something I want to tell you,” the great-grandson is nervous.

“Say.”

“Adam, I was bored for almost two weeks just sitting in the mansion. I really miss working as a nurse, so can I be-“

Adam cut Ashma's words with a drawn look. “Cannot!”

Adam immediately rejected Ashma's wishes. Ashma scrunched her forehead disliking. “Why can't?”

Adam shook his head slowly. “Dangerous exit Ashma, at least wait until we part.” he said so lightly without keeping Ashma feeling.

Ashma raised her face to look at Adam closer, Adam who was a little tall from him then looked down at the look on Ashma's face that was getting angry.

"You should know that I miss the world out there, want to feel back on how to be a nurse, help others. I want to feel useful." Ashma's voice was slightly raised.

Adam looked at Ashma's bead coldly. "Wait until we're apart."

“Are you toying with our wedding?” Ashma clenched her hands. Hearing Adam's words made his feelings go awry.

Adam turned his face away from Ashma the man chose not to answer and decided to leave Ashma but not yet Adam would step his foot, Ashma had pushed Adam along with him until Adam's shoulders touched the wall and they stared at each other.

Ashma's two eyes glazed over, Adam tightened his jaw. “I am not playing with this marriage, because I will take full responsibility for your safety until you return safely to Palestine.

Ashma really does not understand the way of mind of Adam who has underestimated the meaning of marriage. “Forget about the responsibility to bring me back Adam. We're married and I'm doing it for worship, we've testified before God, you don't forget it.”

“That is true, but I will keep my promise to return you to Palestine.” Ashma was very disappointed with Adam. At that moment Ashma's cry broke.

Adam could not bear to see Ashma weeping but he could do nothing because Adam would stay on his feet. “Stop crying Ashma!” Adam's voice rising an octave sounded full of decisiveness, Ashma was not afraid to look him in the eye.

"Then why did you marry me and act so sweet yesterday?" Amidst his sobbing Ashma asked for an answer.

Adam growled in annoyance, he tried to let go of Ashma's confinement but the woman pulled hard on Adam's collar so that their distance was very close. Adam felt the roar of Ashma's warm breath hitting his face.

"Insponsible for the events of the night." murmured Ashma, Ashma was caught off guard by Adam's reply who always used the same excuse.

"Fuck all that Adam. We're married and I can't be played like this!" Ashma was frustrated when Adam only gave reasons for responsibility because of the events of the night.

"Then what do you want Ashma?"

The symphony of the two makes the room gripping. Adam pulled Ashma closer, he put his right hand to embrace Ashma's slender waist.

Somehow the impulse from which Ashma dared to hold the smooth jaw firmly Adam.

"I'll only get married once in my life, which means you'll be the only one." Ashma's voice gave Adam a slight creep.

"I'll fight for our marriage!" Ashma whispered in Adam's ear and Adam's head became dizzy.

"You don't have to fight this temporary marriage" Adam's voice tried to stay unaffected by Ashma's start to make him want to touch the woman.

"No Adam, I'll keep fighting it. I'll even try to love my husband!" Adam looked at Ashma intensely, the woman said so confidently.

Adam smiled knot. "If you can. But it's never gonna happen! Because I'm only gonna love one woman, Lily." Adam's hiss but it didn't make Ashma tremble.

"We'll see, Mr. Adam." Ashma pushed Adam's chest right against the wall until the man removed his hand from Ashma's waist.

"Bas stubborn!" Adam massaged the base of his nose, the woman was completely ruining his mind.

...•••...

"Hows it?Come on Ashma thought!" Ashma thinks hard so she has an idea to get out of the mansion without getting caught with Adam.

Ashma who had found the idea smiled happily. "Mama." Mumbled.

Ashma sets foot in search of Aunt Marianee, Adam's Mansion is so big that Ashma is confused because she does not know the ins and outs of the mansion.

"Miss..." Call one of the maids there.

Ashma turned her head and found a beautiful woman whom she believed to be younger than her. She is very charming with her blonde hair.

"Ah coincidence." Ashma Mumbles.

"Who is looking for her?" Ask the girl.

"I'm looking for Aunt Marianee, did you see her?"

"Aunt Marianee is in the park behind Miss, do you want me to drive you?" said offer.

"If you don't mind a pretty girl."

"Thank you for your praise, but you're also very beautiful miss." she said chuckling, her white cheeks met red adding to the impression of being very charming. "Alright, let me take you." The girl stepped first.

Ashma followed the beautiful girl's steps. "What's your name?" Ashma asked, the girl smiled faintly with a shiny green bead.

"My name is Karina."

"Karina...You're so pretty." Ashma praised again, Karina bowed in embarrassment.

"I think you're still very young, can I tell?" Karina turned her head slowly, then the girl stopped her steps right at the door leading to the back garden.

"18 miss. We have arrived."

While in the back garden, Ashma sees Aunt Marianee moving plants covered in snow.

"Well, Karina, thank you for taking me to meet Aunt Marianee. Let's continue our conversation, yes, nice to meet you." Ashma smiled warmly. Karina felt awe in her heart at this hijab-wearing woman before her.

"Together, ladies, then I'll excuse you."

Karina steps away leaving Ashma with aunt Marianee, she has to go back to work again.

"Ashma, what brought you here? Why not wear thick clothes? It's so cold in here." Aunt Marianee smiled faintly as she welcomed Ashma but she was also worried about seeing Ashma not wearing thick clothes.

"I feel bored in the mansion, Ma. Is it okay for Ashma to take a short walk outside?" Ashma asked with hope.

Aunt Marianee looked at Ashma attentively. She knows that Ashma longs for freedom and the chance to get out of the mansion. However, he is also aware that Adam forbade Ashma from leaving the place for security reasons.

"That's...Mama is not sure." her great-granddaughter hesitated considering Adam had warned aunt Marianee, but seeing Ashma's face that was so anxious to feel Aunt Marianee's freedom became increasingly worried.

"Ma, please help Ashma get out for a while. I feel very depressed here," Ashma asked expectantly.

Aunt Marianee smiled gently. "Darling, you know how worried Adam is about you and how much he wants to protect you. It might be dangerous out there."

Ashma nodded in understanding, but remained determined. "But Ma, I really want to breathe free air outside, I also want to see the beauty in this country Ma."

Aunt Marianee was very worried but saw Ashma's face that made Aunt Marianee so unbearable. "All right, but I can't tell Adam about this. Mama has also decided to accompany you dear."

Ashma nodded quickly. "Thank you, Ma! and thank you for accompanying Ashma, Ashma is very happy."

Aunt Marianee gave an affectionate smile. "Of course, honey. Remember, Adam did all this because he loved you so much and was worried about losing you."

Ashma smiled in her heart. Adam, the man only thinks about responsibility for his mistakes.

Ashma hugs with aunt Marianee as a sign of gratitude. Later, she and aunt Marianee left the mansion with flowery hearts because she felt she had the opportunity to feel freedom for a moment.

Adam who was in the room and still focused on his laptop immediately distracted him on a small rectangular-shaped device that suddenly flickered red. Adam opened his phone screen, Adam's face became worried and he left his room in a hurry.

"The woman is really stubborn!"
