"Welcome back sir" said Geri as she watched me enter my study. I saw that his appearance was quite messy, it seemed like he had been working hard for as long as I left.
I gave her a lot of work as long as I went to take care of my business outside.
"Is there a problem while I'm gone?" I asked as I walked towards my desk while taking off the suit I was wearing.
"No sir."
"Good, then what about the command I gave you earlier? Is it going well?" I continued to ask while confirming my sitting position.
"I did it, sir. Everything has gone according to plan without any problems." Obviously handed the file in his hand to me.
"Good, this way those fools won't wander around anymore." I said while receiving the file given by my secretary.
Lately my head was made sick by the commotion caused by the Veren family leader, he sent almost all his men to look for the whereabouts of his daughter. Not to mention that all of Veren's enemies moved in this kind of situation. Well, if I were an enemy of that family, I would also take this opportunity to make an attack move when I saw a weak point that looked that clear.
"... In this way I managed to get Ian to owe me a favor, right?" I muttered recalling her call a few days ago, she called me to help her solve the problem of her co-worker.
And as a good human being, I would not want to help him in my way. Without the knowledge and consent of anyone. I don't know, I decided on this plan myself in an urgent situation. So, of course I didn't have time to discuss it with anyone.
But, I don't regret the plan I made to save that kid from chasing those fools.
"Aren't you planning to tell the truth about the fire we set on the Alterio family?" Geri's question made me shake doubtfully.
"Hmm. It seems like it's better that no one knows. We have cleared all traces and replaced them with traces of Rigel and the enemies of the Veren family. So, we better shut up for the good of everyone." Obviously I went back to checking the files in front of me.
I let out my tired breath as I remembered how busy I was today. I who saw a teenage girl being chased by a group of suspicious men immediately asked all my men to help her. Especially when he realized that the child was Aster, the daughter of Ansel.
Then without a second thought, I tried to create a big commotion when I saw Rigel's group also around there. Making everyone confused by the building that suddenly burned after the sound of a powerful explosion. The explosion caused by one of my subordinates.
"You okay?" I asked as I put my legs closer to the black-blanky teenage girl. I saw that his face was quite a mess as he turned towards me.
"Master–Albert?" He said after controlling his breath that had hunted as a result of running around avoiding the unknown people.
"I came to help you, do you want to work with me?" I still watch the teenage girl in front of me. Intended to take him away without anyone knowing.
"Cooperate?" His murmur looked confused. I haven't been able to explain my plan yet, I suddenly heard the voice of a man calling Aster's name before me.
Wh who? My mind wondered as it looked at the figure of a grown man before me. I've never seen him before.
"You okay? No one was hurt?" The man continued to make me frown, squinting at the figure of the man before Aster.
"I'm fine uncle, no one gets hurt, don't khawa–"
"So he's your uncle?" My cut made them turn towards me simultaneously, quickly the man turned around and put on a body to protect Aster with his body.
I who saw his sharp gaze, could only sigh in fatigue for the umpteenth time. "Ti–no need to worry uncle. Mr. Albert is on my side." Aster tried to calm the man down. But it doesn't seem to work.
"It's precisely because of that that we have to be aware of it. Aren't these people who have been chasing you lately the people who know your father? It is not only the enemies of the Veren family that we must be aware of, but the people who are related to the Ansel as well!" Clearly did not lower his level of vigilance on me in the slightest.
"The brengs*k couldn't keep up his nonsense apparently. Maybe he used to lecture me this because he treated my nephew badly. Can't you see if the treatment is worse than me?" Continue grumbling in annoyance.
"I don't know what you're harassing. But, I want you to work with me to solve the problem of chasing those people. Aren't you tired of running away from them?" My words made the man look at Aster for a second. She was asking Aster for approval with her gaze.
"I know you can't trust me, but your niece has to be saved. It must have been hard for him to live a quiet life while those people kept eyeing him." My words made the two look back at me.
It was hard enough to convince them, but in the end Aster made a decision I never expected before. He proposes to make himself look like he's gone and go out of town to live his new life.
Though at first I just wanted to save her and take her to live in my residence until Ansel's memory came back. Because then, his life will be safe under my watch. But, who would have thought that this teenage boy of my age had such a crazy proposal.
It must not be easy for him to make such a crazy decision. After all, there are people who want to be considered dead by their loved ones. But because Aster's situation is different from the situation of other normal children. Of course that decision was already the only way for him to survive.
Though I heard, this kid tried to kill himself several times because he was frustrated. But ... who would have thought he had the desire to stay alive in this situation. That's how I thought at the time.
After talking long enough until we both agreed to keep this a secret. I ordered my men to distract Rigel's men and help Aster get into the burning building, and my men followed him to guard it. Then I made a scenario where everyone who saw the fire could think that Aster didn't survive the blaze. And the rest I just need to ask all my men to remove all traces of my involvement and theirs, then replace them with traces from Rigel's side.
I hope the boy can live his day well with the man until Ansel's memory is completely restored. My mind prays for goodness for the daughter of the Veren family.
"I will watch over you, both Ansel and his daughter." Continue muttering.
