Aster Veren
Episode 42

- Esther

Tok tok!

There was a sound of the door being knocked from the outside, before long the door of the grandmother's room was opened and displayed the figure of Uncle Tomi standing on the doorstep.

"Mrs, Mr. Ansel has arrived." His words made grandma hurry.

"Then you guys wait here first huh, grandma will be right back." Grandma said before leaving her room.

"Dad has come ...." I muttered as I grabbed the hot chocolate cup that had warmed up in front of me.

"Hah ..," muttered Carel with a sigh of relief making me turn towards him who had leaned his body on the back of the sofa behind him.

What's wrong with her? My mind wondered as it looked at his sluggish expression.

"When only ten minutes Grandma told me about father and uncle," I continued while glancing at the door of the grandmother's room that was closed tightly.

I want to hear more about my father and uncle.

"What's wrong?" Carel's voice broke my daydream, making me look at him who had propped up his chin on his feet that had been superimposed on the other leg.

"Carel ... Your face is better than ever?" My reply could not take my eyes off Carel's improved expression.

"A–what do you mean?" Her question was stirred with a slight red hue on her face.

"So when you had grandma, your face looked pale. But now it's better than–" Obviously I was immediately stopped by him.

"Whisper!" Strictly speaking as he got up from his seat, "we just get out of here, I'm getting tired of waiting for the old grandma." He immediately grabbed my wrist, forcing me to follow his steps after keeping the cup in my hand where it was.

Old grandma? though to me grandma looks young, how can Carel say my grandmother is old? My mind recalls the face of the grandmother who looked young.

"... Where are we going?" I asked after I got out of Grandma's room.

"Hem ...." She muttered in confusion as her hands still held my hand and continued to step away from Grandma's room.

Why does this kid always drag me around as he pleases? My mind was a little upset by his habit.

"I know!" The next thing surprised me.

"Eh? A–apa?" I asked to get a glance directly from Carel.

"Follow it, you'll know." He answered while showing a big smile. Want to not want me to follow Carel's steps without saying much.

"Until." He said right in front of a big piano in front of us.

"The piano?" I muttered while glancing at Carel who had been watching me since.

"I heard you were replaced by Kalea during the art scene at that time, want to play with me?" Clearly pointing at the piano in front of him made me remember the words of uncle who sounded comforting to me at that time.

My uncle comforted me, didn't he? Looks like my face is too easy to read, uncle also said he had a piano at his house. But until now I have never shown the ability to play my piano to my uncle, even though at that time my uncle said I could show him my game. My mind can't take my eyes off that piano.

"Yes." Yeah." I replied while nodding quickly and returning Carel's wide smile which excited me.

"Carel can play the piano too?" I asked as we sat on the same bench.

"You underestimated me?" He asked in a cynical tone while opening the piano keyboard cover in front of him.

"Bu–not so, I–"My answer was immediately cut by him.

"Here you go, what song do you want to play?" He said while reaching for the book stored on the piano.

"Hem ...." I started thinking about what song I wanted to play. But I haven't been able to answer Carel's question, the child has risen from his seat and immediately walked towards the large closet in the corner of the room.

"It turns out it's still here, I think it's been dumped." His words confused me as his hand grabbed something in front of him.

What did he achieve? Inner wondering.

"I'll just play this." He said as he turned towards me and showed me the violin in his hand.

"okay." He said with a big smile and walked up to me who was ready with the piano I was going to play.

"After the distribution of Aster's report, I'll take care of all the letters of his school transfer. I don't have to worry, "I said after drinking my green tea.

"Good then .. Then why did you come?" Said mother after sighing tired, then the next second mother glanced at Arsel who was cool playing his phone.

"Me?" He asked as he felt cared for by his mother, "I want to meet my niece." Continue with a grin and put his phone in his pants pocket.

"You said today there was an important guest right? Why come to my mom's house?" I asked while keeping the tea cup in my hand in place.

"No guest is more important than my nephew." The answer made me feel amused for a while.

"It looks like you're possessed by something huh?" I can't imagine her attitude like that, but she usually never wants to come to my mother's house.

His nature, who did not want to waste time to talk lightly like this, should still be attached to him, right? Even though I myself am crazy about work, my sister is just as crazy about her work. But he said he wanted to meet Aster and come straight to my mother's house. Isn't that weird?

"Looks like Aster so much huh ...." Mum muttered while smiling faintly at Arsel.

"Haha.he's a good kid and smart. Of course I like it, if I can I want to stay with Aster forever." Clearly while showing her a thin smile.

"You crazy?" Ask me to start talking again, somehow I feel annoyed at him now. I don't like to see his expression like that.

"Who's crazy, huh?!" His words sound annoyed.

"Pft... Why fight? If Aster sees you fighting like this, he might think you're like a kid." Mommy said making me look at her who was trying to hold back her laughter.

"Sad." Decih Arsel pissed me off, especially when she saw him throw his face away from me.

This kid really! My mind tried to hold back my emotions, and I heard a familiar music in my ears, a voice that made me feel nostalgic.

"Water (On a G String)—Johann Sebastian Bach." I remember Helen playing the piano performing Johann Sebastian Bach.

"It's been a long time since I've heard this sound ...." My mom made me look at her, because usually my dad plays the piano in the music room.

"Hee... Could it be Aster who played Dad's piano?" Guman Arsel made me and Mom throw each other a glance for a few seconds.

Aster can play the piano? Inner wondering.

"This violin sound, must be that shitty kid." He then got up straight from his seat.

"Mother heard that Aster did not perform because he was replaced by someone else, right?" Ask your mother when she meets Arsel.

"That's how." Answer's short.

"If so, I'd like to see Aster's game." He said excitedly and went straight out of his study, leaving me and Arsel behind.

"We are not finished with this conversation ...." My mummy rose from my sitting position and began to follow Arsel's steps towards the music room next to my mother's private library.

Arriving at the music room, my eyes were completely fixed on Aster playing the piano with a difficult expression for me to describe. But I know that he feels happy playing the song Air (On a G String)—Johann Sebastian Bach with Carel who plays violin beside him, seen from his smile that never fades from the look of his canyanya.

He looks like he's having fun with Carel yeah .... My mind smiled watching the two children in front of me.

"He really looks like a dad ...." Arsel said making the mother nod quickly to approve the speech of his youngest son.

Dad really likes to play the piano, but for me Aster is my daughter who inherited Helen's ability. I know how to play it. My mind cannot turn away from Aster.
