Chapters. 52 - Baby White Snake

18 Years ago, the big residence of the Zhao family of Xuanzhou city.

It was the middle of winter when everyone took shelter behind the warming fire. It was the day that Zhao Bingyan had just had her fifth birthday yet, she had not received any words from her family at all.

Inside the forest filled with frozen trees without having leaves decorating it, Zhao Bingyan sat leaning against one of the trees standing there. Her expression looked sad as it felt like it was not being cared for by her own two parents.

The young Zhao Bingyan was always alone as she was a sickly child and had such a flawed dantian that it was impossible for her to cultivate fully.

”Dad and Mom didn't even look for me. Actually, why would they give birth to me if it wasn't their will?” inner Zhao Bingyan who felt cold while rubbing both of her shoulders that felt shivering.

Due to that cold feeling, it finally made Zhao Bingyan fall asleep for a while. And in the same position when he fell asleep, he suddenly woke up because he felt a drop of snow landed on his head. He also felt surprised because his left leg suddenly cramped and could not move for a while later.

”I know I shouldn't sleep here. Maybe I should just go home?” thought Zhao Bingyan who then tried to stand up even though her left leg still found it hard to move.

And when one step left his place, Zhao Bingyan suddenly tripped and fell down from hitting a hard object buried under the snow. ”Aduh,... Duh... who buried a round object like this in the forest?” murmured Zhao Bingyan who sat back down and looked towards the round object that had previously made her fall. ”If viewed from here, it looks like a big egg."

Because I feel weird about that thing. Zhao Bingyan finally tried to dig it up and sure enough, after she finished digging it, it was a large snow-white egg and its size almost matched her body size.

”Very big egg. It is impossible for an egg of this size to be a bird egg or a goose egg. So, whose egg is this?" Zhao Bingyan said as she tried to circle the egg and tried to hear what was inside.

Seeing that, Zhao Bingyan finally moved away and let the egg hatch on its own.

Not long after he waited, the egg slowly showed what was hidden inside. Then, a human baby's foot appears out of the egg shell and followed by a hand that appears almost close to the exit of the foot from the egg.

In addition to the legs and hands that began to come out from within the egg, several white snake babies appeared that came out through the cracks that were wide open. A little later, a baby boy appeared from inside the egg with several snakes still circling his hands and head.

The baby boy had white hair and wide eyes that were yellow like the afternoon. His puzzled expression and his cold-looking skin, made Zhao Bingyan very surprised when she saw him. ”... Turns out, it was a human baby?!” inner Zhao Bingyan who was slowly walking over approached him.

Zhao Bingyan looked in surprise at a baby who had just come out of an egg that was found by her. He touched the baby's cheek and said, "Sweet, sweet,..." He said with a heart that flowered as soon as he touched the baby's soft cheeks.

Then a man suddenly appeared before him and blocked his sight as he was touching the baby's skin in front of him. This man looked like a servant in ordinary clothes who did not seem like any other big family member. This person was Pei Zhuo who was given the task of continuing to look after Zhao Bingyan since he was a baby.

"Young master Zhao. I've been looking for you everywhere. Turns out, you're here huh? Whose baby is that?" Asked Pei Zhuo who was astonished by the baby that was now being hugged by Zhao Bingyan.

"I mean young master?" Pei Zhuo asked who was beginning to be confused.

"Qian Yue once said that there was a white snake-type mountain spirit that died two hundred years ago for its king. The white snake became a symbol of the strength of the third King of Xingyue as he always protected her at all times. Although he sounds terrible because he always kills his opponent, he has a gentle nature towards the children who try to approach him. And now I'm sure that what Qian Yue told me was true. This baby snake is the reincarnation of Xun Ji'an who died two hundred years ago." Zhao Bingyan clearly hugged the baby gently.

"So, young master wants to take care of her? If the head of the family allows you, what kind of name do you want to give?" Pei Zhuo asked as he stroked Zhao Bingyan's head.

Zhao Bingyan thought before replying, "... Of course I'll give it Xun Ji'an's name. And I hope, he can become a gentle-hearted protector like Qian Yue." He replied with a childish smile as he continued to hug the baby snake.

18 Years later, the Yu'an Sect Pavilion Hua Jian.

The old Xun Ji'an had not met Zhao Bingyan for three years, becoming very happy once she was reunited with him. He never got away from her and continued to get closer to Zhao Bingyan who was already feeling very uncomfortable with her current existence.

"Yin-Yan! You don't miss your long gone son at all?" Xun Ji'an asked which of course made Zhao Bingyan even more disgusted to hear it.

After he walked alone along the road towards the Yu'an pavilion, it was suddenly just that Xun Ji'an jumped up and hugged Zhao Bingyan's right leg making it very difficult to walk because of it. "... "Wakeup! Don't embarrass yourself in front of them!" Said Zhao Bingyan who persuaded Xun Ji'an to stop hugging her legs.

"Can I walk next to Yan-Yan?" Xun Ji'an asked as she showed her puffy face to the point of making Zhao Bingyan feel like throwing up when she heard it.

Feeling forced, Zhao Bingyan finally replied, "Alright, alright. At least don't embarrass you here."

Xun Ji'an's expression was instantly moved and immediately stood next to her while trying to get her to walk along. Then, while he was trying to walk with him, suddenly someone hit Xun Ji'an from behind which eventually resulted in the person falling down the moment he hit him.

Xun Ji'an was so curious as to who had previously hit her. And it's true what he's expecting right now. He was just a little boy who was lost and looking for someone as his guide. This child was Mu Chen Xiao who had been chased all day by the extremely starving Baixue.
