Chapters. 71 - Sharp Hunch

Due to the feeling of worry that came overnight, Zhao Bingyan immediately walked out of her residence towards the Jinya mountain range when everyone was still asleep at night. He went back on his white horse and left without disturbing anyone by leaving behind a piece of paper explaining where he was going.

It would take at least a whole day to get to Jinya mountain range by riding a war horse. Unlike if one chose to walk, it would take around three days to get there. However, due to his sharp premonition and predicting there had been chaos in their place, Zhao Bingyan immediately chose to leave without saying any greetings to anyone.

"Where are you going these nights?" Zhao Wei Lu asked when he saw Zhao Bingyan who was about to leave the Sect.

Zhao Bingyan who was still herding her horse, turned her head back and saw Zhao Wei Lu who was currently standing waiting for a response from her. "... Why haven't you slept? Isn't it still midnight?" Asked Zhao Bingyan who turned around to face him.

Zhao Wei Lu gritted his teeth and said, "Stop asking me! Just answer my question!" He said with a face that seemed to be angry with him.

Even though his face looked extremely angry at her, Zhao Bingyan still showed her the usual expression. He walked over to her and stroked Zhao Wei Lu's head while saying, "I'm going for a moment. Master Chu Yi and Cheng Xing have also returned. So, you don't have to think about how this college will be. Be a good boy while I'm gone." He said, showing his friendly smile, and then he walked back to his horse and left it there.

Zhao Wei Lu was quite surprised when Zhao Bingyan placed her palm on top of his head. And even due to that feeling of shock, Zhao Wei Lu to the point of not wanting Zhao Bingyan to leave him here. He wanted to come with her but, he still couldn't bear to say it. In the end, he could only let Zhao Bingyan go without saying anything to him.

”What happened in his head? He doesn't usually do that to me. Was he just making a show so that I could accept Mu Chen Xiao in this family?” inner Zhao Wei Lu who was looking at him coldly felt he had been lied to by her.

During the night trip to the Jinya mountains, Zhao Bingyan saw the atmosphere of Xuanzhou city that looked desolate and there was no one standing in front of their house. The residents here were frightened by the threat coming from the border forest that might bring out all the ghosts.

Although the atmosphere did look lonely, Zhao Bingyan still ran her horse swiftly regardless of what was around her.

Then, when he reached the border forest and the sky still did not show his sun. The great whirlwind further prevented him from walking forward even though he was no longer afraid to fight all the ghosts that would most likely appear in the midst of his journey.

A horse that kept galloping, suddenly came to a halt as soon as he saw the swarm of ghosts that had been standing in front of him. They are the ghosts of villagers who died unnaturally in this place and some of them have been eaten by hungry ghosts.

"Even a great hatred. They were all people who died unnaturally and asked for their bodies to be returned. It seems like I need a lot of time and a lot of energy to calm them all down." Zhao Bingyan muttered as she pulled out her sword back.

"Don't be afraid and keep moving forward. They are nothing but annoying pests. Run until no one can come after you." Zhao Bingyan said to her horse that looked frightened. And not long after he readied himself, his warhorse came back running quickly to help Zhao Bingyan to kill all the ghosts that had been bothering him.

An ice sword, swung simultaneously while he was speeding on his horse. A blue light appeared on the metal of his sword and froze all the surrounding ghosts to smash them all to pieces. Instantly, a chill emerged from within the forest as it re-emerged its spiritual power.

Their fight continued until the sun rose and finally all the ghosts present in the border forest disappeared instantly.

"Truly a troublesome pest. Even though I felt no difficulty when fighting them, I still had to waste a lot of effort." Zhao Bingyan muttered while rearranging her messy breathing.

He then ran back to the Jinya mountains which only lived through a small village called Jin Yue and after that he would see the Luobing River waterfall that would connect him to the Jinya mountains.

When he walked past Jin Yue village when the sun was already on his head, two black-robed people walked past him. He felt that there was an enormous power once they passed through it. They were a couple of women and men who walked back towards the Jinya mountains. He didn't know what was going on, but his premonition was really bad.

As soon as Zhao Bingyan looked at the two seriously, she immediately rode on her horse quickly and immediately rushed towards the Jinya mountain range and checked the situation there. His horse's steps slowly stopped as he passed in front of the destroyed Mu family's residence leaving only one building standing amid the rubble.

"Something's wrong here! Much has happened out here since Mu Chen Xiao left the Sect." Zhao Bingyan murmured who then saw an old grandfather of firewood salesman who was resting on the large wall of Mu residence that had been fragile.

"I'm sorry, can I ask you a question?" Said Zhao Bingyan who had come down from his horse and approached the old man earlier.

"No need to think about it. I just wanted to ask, what happened in the Mu family residence to the point that everything was destroyed like this?"

The old grandfather blinked a few times and stopped looking towards Zhao Bingyan before he replied, "Three days ago, there was a big fight here. The black-robed lady, swung her sword at a boy and ravaged everything that was left. And after their fight was over, there was another boy coming from the direction towards the Jinya mountain range along with a black shadow, bringing in someone who had just fought here."

”Is what he meant by Mu Chen Xiao with the ghost waiting for the Mu residence?” inner Zhao Bingyan was shocked after hearing her story. He stood up and said, "Thank you for telling me everything." He said as he greeted him and took out a bag of gold pieces which were then given to the old man.

"Is this young man?" Asked the old geezer who felt confused by what Zhao Bingyan had given him.

"There's a small village down there. You can buy food with this money." He said as he walked back to his horse.

The grandfather felt very surprised and immediately said with a faint smile on his face, "Thank you young man."

Not long after, Zhao Bingyan rode back to the mountains with hundreds of steps waiting for her to reach the top.

And when he got to the top, he was very surprised to see the front gate of their residence shattered and there were some broken steps there.

"Why did the gate break like this? I can't go in if I have to bring a horse." Zhao Bingyan muttered back down from the horse and noticed the pile of stones that were in front of her.

The pile of stones was like it had been attacked with a sword that had great power. Could it be that he was the one that grandfather had talked about earlier? Or maybe, the men and women who just passed me in Jin Yue village?

Without needing to think about it any further, Zhao Bingyan immediately jumped over the pile of rocks that had once covered her and saw the scene that was now happening in Jinya's residence.

At least one house was destroyed and several were damaged by the same sword. The atmosphere was very quiet because it was night time back and everyone was asleep in their respective places. Since yesterday's fight, they have all been injured and their higher-ups have also suffered even worse injuries. The activity here was as if it had died because no one was moving there.

"real right. This place has become a battle arena."

"Young master Zhao!" Said a woman who was now walking towards him.

Zhao Bingyan was stunned and immediately looked back. "Xu Wuya's? Can you tell me what happened here before?" Zhao Bingyan asked when she remembered that this black woman was Xu Wuya.

"Three days ago, we got an attack from two very strong foreigners. They blocked the exit and injured all our people. Even elder Hao Shu could not defeat the two of them and now, the circumstances are worse than ours." Xu Wuya.

Zhao Bingyan was surprised to hear him and asked back, "Then, how is Mu Chen Xiao now?"

"He also had a fight with the two men. However, it was almost the same as the current state of elder Hao Shu."

"Take me to where Mu Chen Xiao is!" Zhao Bingyan's words after Xu Wuya made her feel extremely worried.

Xu Wuya was stunned and replied a moment later, "He, is not in his room. I've been looking everywhere but, I still haven't found it." Clearly Xu Wuya after he felt hesitant to answer him to Zhao Bingyan whose face seemed to be worrying about everything that had happened here.
