DAMNED GIRL

DAMNED GIRL
11. FALL ILL

“Help hold her hand!” shouted Mr. Udin who tried to resist the movement of Abas' body that was getting stronger rebelled.

Mr. Lurah who was holding a glass of water tried to pry into the mouth of Abas. Many times he tried the water, but always missed and spilled on the floor.

Cold sweat poured out on their bodies, the cold air turned incomparable heat.

“Astagfirullah! Call Nak, call it,” shouted Bu Tika many times hoping Abas could hear his words.

It's been almost half an hour that Abas' body thrashed. The red light that enveloped his body slowly dimmed. Similarly, the movement of Abas' body slowly began to weaken. Eventually Abas stopped moving and lay weakly on the floor.

All who watched breathed a sigh of relief. They carried Abas' body and moved it over the cot so that Abas could rest.

Just a few minutes his body lay, Abas finally woke up from his stupor. “You are papa, Mas?” yumna asked when she saw Abas' eyes open.

Abas looked puzzled as he saw everyone sitting around him with a faint look, including Yumna and Bu Tika. “I'm not papa, what happened? Didn't we have an event?” Abas's face was confused as if he could not remember what had happened.

Abaz got up and got up from the couch where he lay. He felt his joints ache a little and some parts of his body felt like they had hit something.

“Aww!” screeched Abas as his body grew more and more painful.

“You really are okay, Bas?” tanya Wandi assured the condition of his sababat that was replied by a nod by Abas.

“Yes already, you just rest. We said yes Yum, Miss Tika. If there is anything immediately notify me,” said Mr. Lurah does not want to question it now to Abas and give time for him to rest.

Mr. Lurah, Mr. Udin, Yayan and Wandi finally left Abas' house. When stepping out the door, Wandi seemed to glance at Abas several times with a look of wonder. His forehead wiggled.

'Shit! Why didn't he die and not even have any injuries at all? Whereas usually, people will die if possessed by the spirit ball. Really strange, Wandi grumbled inwardly, he did not accept with this failure.

A few days after the incident, the news about Yumna came back to the surface and heated up. Some people began to see Abaz, so that the man would abandon his intention to marry Yumna. However, the advice of the immediate citizens was rejected outright by Abas. He remained chuckle with his intention to make Yumna his wife.

That night, Abas' condition was restored. He returned to his usual activities as if nothing had ever happened. Abas again stood guard at the patrol station accompanied by Mr. Udin and Yayan. This time Wandi did not see the trunk of his nose. The slightly cold night weather makes Abas kebelet and berampit to go to the musala. However, when he came out of the musala Abas saw Wandi with suspicious gurgles.

Abas followed Wandi's steps unconsciously he arrived at a hut belonging to Nyi Asih. Abas hid from outside the hut to hear their conversation.

“You know, right, I don't need your money, Wandi. Which deal did you agree to the other day?” Abas sees Nyi Asih rejecting the money given by Wandi.

“Don't Nyi Asih have failed to kill Abas?” Wandi seemed annoyed with Nyi Asih for not fulfilling his request to finish Abas. "So it's not wrong if I just give you red money, not a red fetus like you asked." Nyi Asih stared intently at Wandi, her eyes burning as if she did not accept Wandi's treatment of her.

Abas who was still peeking was aghast, he did not suspect that the incident he experienced a few days ago was caused by Wandi. Abas gulped, he tried to digest all this and accepted the fact that Wandi was the cause he almost lost his life.

Prangg!

The loud noise shocked Abas from his daydream. Abas' eyes turned back to look at Nyi Asih and Wandi. A vessel was blown away by Nyi Asih in front of Wandi as an expression of annoyance towards the man.

“Why can you fail, Nyi?” yelling Wandi who does not accept scolded by Nyi Asih,“ answered my question, I will give a red baby as you want,” said Wandi who is still curious about the failure made by Nyi Asih.

Nyi Asih was silent as if the anger she felt was muffling. He was sitting on a chair made of bamboo. Nyi Asih's eyes were floating as if thinking of something that had been forgotten.

“Abas is not an ordinary man as you might expect. He has pure blood from the descendants of Bayu Ajisena. The man is the soul mate of the past of the body guard Yumna, namely Goddess Sekar Agnimaya who is a daughter of the seventh concubine of the royal lineage of Tumapel." Abas was shocked to hear Nyi Asih's words. This makes no sense.

How could he have the pure bloodline of someone Nyi Asih told him, truly unbelievable.

"I told you we had to get rid of him before another catastrophe appeared. You are, you know, Bas, like no other woman. There are Tata, Eka or Kiki village girls who are ready to be betrothed. Eh, this even chose a widow, a carrier of bad luck, too" said Bu Nur who included village stakeholders.

"Udah don't say that, it's not good to accuse people, after all, now Abas is fine." Mr. Lurah tried to meditate the boisterous atmosphere at the village hall that afternoon.

"That's right, sir. We have to get rid of him." Wandi ventured to speak up. Wandi's words made Abas feel uncomfortable, how could his best friend say that.

Gradually the citizens dispersed. Only Mr. Udin and Abas remained in the village hall.

Mr. Udin took a deep breath and remained silent. He didn't know what to say to Abas, who he thought was his own son.

"If you are sure, go ahead" said Mr. Udin, patting Abas on the shoulder.

The view of the middle-aged man feeling pity for what happened to Abas followed by a nod to Abas' head while releasing the return of Mr. Udin from that place.

...***...

Abas arrives at the door and is greeted by Yumna with a sweet smile. A warm cup of tea with a pottery glass container he treats. Yumna understood that Abas should not be involved in his own problems that have been given bad predicate by the citizens.

Abas lay down in front while glaring at the ceiling of the room. His mind was worried and heavy however Yumna had become his wife and it was fitting that he would be by his side until death separated.
