DAMNED GIRL

DAMNED GIRL
22. GRANDMOTHER'S SMILE

A few days after taking the school exam, we waited for graduation.

While waiting for the news of graduation from school, I decided to continue to take care of Grandma in the hope that she would recover.

Because it just so happened after our exams we had school holidays. So, for me it was a golden opportunity to take care of Grandma all day.

Today's afternoon I think Mom should have come but apparently she hasn't come yet, or maybe my guess count missed.

I was so waiting for him

I checked Grandma's room once to make sure she was.

This afternoon his body lay weakly on his bed. He seemed to be shrinking and his stomach looked very flat. While his legs are getting dark blue and swollen

I saw him trebaring close his eyes, so afraid of losing him, I watched carefully the movements of his stomach breathing.

Thankfully Grandma was fine.

Because I felt safe, I sat back in the living room chair, the silent atmosphere suddenly I felt as if giving a signal that I was still lonely.

Maybe it's because I miss Mom, even though she might not remember me at all.

But bad thoughts like I always ignore them. Because it could be that Mom will come later in the afternoon or evening or even tomorrow

After days of taking care of Grandma, now I can only feel the fatigue that makes my physique as if exhausted.

But even so I sincerely take care of him, I also want him to recover quickly and go back to walking like before.

He always said he'd be healed but I'm sure he was feeling some pain in his body but it's just that he didn't want to be honest.

It's been a few days later, Mother has not come to know what makes her seem to forget about me and Grandma.

After a few days of school holidays, finally at the end of the day that determines the fate of the students, I finally decided to leave Grandma to go to school to see the graduation of students.

Grandma, I'm leaving first huh" my pamit

"Be careful" said Grandma

"From yesterday I haven't come here" I said

Grandma smiled hearing that

"You don't need to think about it, the important thing is that you should be able to school well" he said

"But you should have come to take care of Grandma too" I said

"No need, because your mother already has a new family that is more worthy of care and care" he replied

"So, if I'm married later I can't take care of my mother if she's sick ?" much

"Not" said Grandma

"Then what ?" ask me again

But Grandma instead switched the conversation to "What's your graduation news today ?" tannya

I nodded "Yes"

"Yes, be careful on the road" he said again

I nodded "Yes Nek, I won't be long. I'll be right back" I said

"Yes" he answered

Just now I finished locking the door of the house, suddenly a Father looked at me and looked at me in wonder.

I was more surprised by his attitude

The father also asked the whereabouts of Grandma "Where is your grandmother ?" tannya

"Go away" I replied quickly

"Go away for a long time, lest you be deliberately discarded but subtly" he said

Hearing his bad words I did not then answer him, instead I ran to know him.

Run as hard as I can until I finally dart at Mira's house

Apparently this time Mira was in front of her house, so I didn't have to wait for her.

Seeing me coming, Mira immediately invited us to leave together

"Look we're leaving" he said as he stepped before me

As usual we walked together but we did not have much chatter, because we were nervous about the results of the graduation exam later

Listen from the seniors who have been to school there, if all the schools there are sure to graduate.

But not only the word pass that I was actually looking for but I got a high grade in order to get a free school track of achievement.

Finally, I was with Mira already arrived at school and then crowded with other friends to see the list of students who took the State Exam that was taped in the school entrance

Although looking at it should be a bit jostling but at least true to the senior's remark that all students will definitely graduate school.

But even so I was more interested in waiting for the announcement of who was the highest grade in the class.

He stood in front of the class with a bag of reports and a piece of paper in his hand for him to read to us

Sertamerta we feel hypnotized to have to listen to it carefully

"My children, you should give thanks because you have passed the graduation exam and the results passed all. And for the first rank is still won by Abigel. Congratulations" he said

Hearing the defending champion being named, all cheered applauded for Abigel who always got a class ranking every year. Even to this day his position has not been shifted

From the first name mentioned alone has made me pessimistic and do not need to hope again to get the scholarship I hope for

Bu Yuni resumed her announcement, this time mentioning her as an official host

"The second rank falls to a named student.....Jihaaa. Congratulations to you !" heed

All the students came back cheering happily while clapping, although I was not the second winner but I still applauded just not boisterous like them

Bu Yuni mentioned one last name again, this time I lost my sense and felt that I would not be in the top three list

All were silent waiting for the last name to be mentioned

"And, the top three ranks are.....Bcpiehirrraaa! Congratulations to Mira" said Ms. Yuni

Hearing all their names mentioned, I became more pessimistic and resigned.

But the applause and cheer of my friends seemed to teach me that I should cherish the victory of others by having fun in it

"For other children, if you can not rank, please try again to learn diligently. Do not give up and never be discouraged when you have been diligent in learning but apparently there are still others whose results are better, because in fact you are all champions, just because there are more who can achieve the highest value, then you cannot take that opportunity" said Bu Yuni

We all answered in unison, "Yes, Mom"

Finally, after Bu Yuni announced the outstanding students, continued the distribution of reports

"Mother will share the report, after receiving please go straight home and do not forget to show your parents so that your parents are proud to see their children can continue to Junior High School" he said

"Okay, Mom !" answer us

Finally Bu Yuni distributed our reports one by one, because the sequence number was absent I was faster than Mira, so after I left class I had to wait for Mira.

After a few minutes of waiting, Mira finally came out with a happy face. She smiled at me

"I didn't think I'd get third" he said

Honestly, actually in my heart I envy seeing Mira. But because I remember what Bu Yuni said I was trying to dissolve my mood in her happiness.

On the way to our homes each finally I was able to accept the reality, Mira and I as usual joked with each other and ran around very happily.

Mira waved her hand at me when she reached her house.

"Daagh, Dhira !" he said while entering his house

I also do not want to lose the joy of Mira, my footsteps accelerated and opened the door quickly. I want Grandma to get news of my graduation quickly.

"Grandmother !" I said as I ran into his room with the report I still held

I found Grandma who apparently she was sleeping adorned by the smile of her lips that seemed to be very sweet

Actually I can't bear to wake Grandma but I can't wait to tell her right now

Immediately I woke up slowly, afraid later Grandma even panicked

"Mr, wake up !" I said while slowly shaking his body

But this time his body felt different.

Stiffly

My instincts speak like there's something different about Grandma.

I watched Grandma's breath carefully.

His stomach is getting flatter and there is no movement of his breath

But I still hope Grandma is okay.

I continue to tear Grandma's body a little tight.

"Grandma, wake!" say

But my instincts say something else

Grandma is gone

My tears broke for a moment, I cried.

My heart is so broken

At that moment I remembered Miss Nina, still crying I quickly went to her house.

I ran so fast that I could fall

"Mom Nina !" call me
