DAMNED GIRL

DAMNED GIRL
4. NEW LIFE

The village atmosphere is back. This time it was about the theft of livestock that was very troubling. That night at the patrol post Yayan, Pak Udin and Wandi stood guard. Abas who had just joined came to bring a container of tea water to accompany the patrol that night.

"Yesterday his thief almost got caught at Tejo's house. When Tejo woke up and confronted the thief it was so powerful not mempan membatan parang Tejo and just disappeared," said Wandi opened the conversation.

"It's bad then, we face a thief who has the knowledge of White Welut studies," continued Mr. Udin shook his head.

"Yes, even in other villages he said the thief also mastered the science of Rontek Swamp." Wandy added.

They continued to talk until night almost changed in the early hours. The existence of a powerful thief certainly makes residents anxious. They must guard themselves as well as livestock and other property from the target of thieves.

"Does this have anything to do with Ida's theft, huh, Kang?" abas asked Yayan. Yayan only scratched his head without understanding what to answer.

From the back of the patrol post there was a shadow hiding behind the shade of a bamboo tree. The shadow was watching them closely. For a moment the shadow hid and then put both hands together in front of the chest to bring up a thin black smoke that billowed towards the citizens who were watching. The smoke that mingled with the inhaled air then made all of them who were guarding the patrol station feel very sleepy and then fell asleep simultaneously without command.

An hour passed and there was a loud scream accompanied by the sound of deafening claps of the ears. "Most out! Move over!"

Citizens running. Mr. Udin, Wandi, Yayan and Abas who were in deep sleep finally woke up.

"He ran there!" muis shouted at Abas and Yayan. Hearing that call Abas and Yayan immediately ran to follow the direction of the index he got from Muis.

The thief moved quickly through the dark night and the bush until it disappeared from Yayan's sight.

"Bas, where are you going?" yayan said to Abas who broke away.

"I want to look at Yumna who knows if the maling leads to his house on the edge of the village." Sahut Abas is worried.

Without waiting for a response, Abas immediately ran after the thief alone armed with a machete and a holster.

"Jeez who is that?" Abas muttered as a man with a celurite entered the courtyard of Yumna's house. The man in all black clothes looked suspicious with traits like the thief he was chasing.

"Gurghhh!" A loud screech was heard in the courtyard of the house when the man Abas suspected of being a thief slammed hard into the bedrock in front of Yumna's house.

In front of the man stood a woman with long hair almost as long as the waist. The woman continued to approach the thief who crawled backwards with a face splattered with blood.

"For example, please forgive me" the thief said.

Abas who hid behind a big tree only gawked when the woman's fingers tore the chest of the thief with his long nails. The woman who looked like Yumna sat down. Eating a lump of flesh that is similar to a heart with bloodied lips.

"Yumna!" exclaim Abas. Suddenly the woman glared and turned into smoke that burst into the house Yumna.

"What's up, Mom?" Yumna looked in wonder at Abas who was also astonished because Yumna did not understand what had just happened in his yard.

"Akhich!" Yumna shrieked loudly to see a corpse with a gaping wound on the chest that was none other than a thief. Yumna's shout attracted the attention of the citizens who immediately filled the place.

...***...

"At least he was dead, but two more people managed to escape carrying livestock residents. But, who did that to this thief?" asked Mr. Udin to Abas while observing the corpse of the thief who had been stiffened.

In front of the originally deserted house of Yumna, it suddenly became crowded with people who were curious about the fate of the monstrously dead thief in front of the beautiful widow's house. Question after question flashed through every citizen's head who was there. Who had killed the thief left the body torn apart on the chest with the heart that had disappeared and the surroundings full of blood that flooded the terrace of the house Yumna.

“Who has done this Abas, Yumna?” Mr. Udin repeated the question.

Yumna shrugged both of her shoulders while shaking her head with an innocent look as if she was unaware of the incident. “Do not know, Sir. I just came out when I heard Abas calling my name and this person is already in this condition,” replied Yumna.

All eyes turned to look at Abas. They could not wait to hear the words spoken from the 30-year-old man's mouth. However, Abas instead seemed confused by this condition while occasionally glancing towards Yumna hoping to find an answer.

“Ng .. anu, Sir. I also don't know. I just heard a scream. When I ran here, the thief was like a gini. That's why I panicked and called Yumna." Mr. Udin frowned. He felt something was strange with Abas' explanation. But, he tried to shake it all off and refocus on the blood-soaked corpse.

The whispers of the citizens sounded faintly in Abas' ears. They accused this incident of having something to do with the misfortune that was in Yumna. It's impossible for a human being to do this to a thief. Because the wounds on the chest resemble scratches from the nails of wild animals such as lions, tigers and the like. Allegedly for conjecture was fixed on Yumna. So that the citizens who were there saw him with a sharp look full of hatred.

“Eh, Yumna! You better confess. This is all you do, right?” accuse one of the mothers who were there to Yumna.

Yumna's eyes were round, she did not understand what the mother was accusing her of. “I really don't know, Mom!” sangkal Yumna's.

“Already. Don't dodge, Yumna,” timpal other mothers.

“Iya, just drive him out of this village!” The atmosphere suddenly became boisterous. Almost all residents present there want Yumna immediately leave their village.

The cheering mane of the protest made the situation noisy and Yumna's position even more cornered. Abas, Mr. Udin, Yayan and Wandi looked pityfully at the woman, but they also slipped suspiciously at Yumna. Moreover, Abas, he was very sure that the one who tore apart this thief was Yumna.
