Chapter 14 - The Difference of Fate
Arya enters the arena of the match followed by a rapturous reception from the audience, many of whom cheered on Arya and cursed Kevin for what he did in the previous match, which he did, in the middle of the arena was waiting for Kevin who was warming up along with Astral who acted as a referee.
Seeing Arya who had entered the arena Kevin raised next to his eyebrows and smiled as if saying I thought you would not come, knowing Arya had been present there Astral gestured with his hand so that the two participants approached him.
"You both remember the rules, right? The rules are still the same as before" Astral said after the two of them approached.
Arya and Kevin only responded with a small nod, the air surrounding the arena was already heavy as before due to the overflowing energy of these two people. The two of them had mounted combat-ready horses with their weapons in their hands
"Alright then, the match of the semi-final stage 1 Elementalist Exam between Arya Frost vs Kevin Storm begins!!!" shouted Astral.
After hearing the cue from Astral very quickly Arya and Kevin darted and lunged at each other, both of their Agnet-coated weapons met in the air while making a terrifying sound. The sword and Mace were clashing together as if they did not want to budge each other. Arya and Kevin did the same as their weapons, they continued to attack each other regardless of the defense.
Just a split second they kept their distance and directly lunged at each other like before, Seeing the match the screams of the spectators getting more lively even Arya had heard a whistle of amazement from Timothy. Arya knows why they are all surprised, even Kevin also looks unhappy about the development that occurred at the beginning of this match.
Each time the two of their weapons collide with the protective glass around the stands, Arya takes the opportunity to talk to Kevin as they clash again.
"Are you surprised? You look a little unhappy" whispered Arya.
"Huh, to be honest I was a little surprised that you could match my speed, but that's not enough!!!" kevin yelled while throwing Arya.
"You have to pay for what you've done" Arya said coldly.
"If you think you can beat me just because you managed to keep up with my speed, you're too naive. Electric Charge" Kevin said as he touched the ground.
Instantly from his hand flowed a high-voltage electric charge, it traveled all over the floor of the arena, seeing that Arya immediately moved away from Kevin. He continued to jump back up to the boundary wall of the arena.
"You won't be able to run, you can't use your ice as a foothold. Because ice is made of water, and water is a conductor of electricity" Kevin said with a triumphant smile on his face.
Without being told by him, Arya already knew about it, otherwise for what reason she kept jumping away from it. Without a second thought Arya immediately rested on the perimeter wall of the arena and jumped as high as possible into the air.
"I wonder how long you can stay in the air" Kevin shouted.
Then Arya took off the sword sheath tied to her waist and threw it to the ground until it stuck, then landed smoothly on it. He stood on top of the sword sheath casually while propping his sword on his shoulders.
"Which fool might I survive long in the air, I'm not a fowl you know?" arya said with a cold look.
Seeing what Arya is doing Kevin looks upset, then he stops his Electric Charge and darted towards Arya while swinging the mace right towards Arya's face. Arya avoided it with one small step and caught Kevin's hand with her right hand.
"Because of you" whispered Arya.
Then with one quick movement Arya sculpted Kevin's right hand using the knee of his left foot and the elbow of his left hand. There was a loud "krakk" sound and a ringing from Kevin, his mace was released from his hand, Arya was not finished until there. He threw Kevin with a hard kick to the stomach so that Kevin's body bounced away.
After that he pulled out the scabbard that stuck on the ground and shot towards Kevin, without stopping for a second he attacked Kevin repeatedly using a sword in his right hand and a sword sheath in his kirin hand. Until finally Kevin pressed up against the arena wall, Arya also moved away and smacked her sword sheath into Kevin's mace so that the mace darted towards the owner.
The last attack made a loud noise, dust scattered everywhere so that Kevin's figure could not be seen. When the dust began to disappear, Kevin managed to catch his mace with his left hand, the condition looks not good. All over his body suffered injuries due to the attack Arya did. Just like what he had done to Asuna before.
He was breathing heavily, Arya just kept quiet and looked. He gives Kevin time to gather his strength then when he tries to move Arya darting and stab his sword towards the wall which is only 10 cm from Kevin's head. Kevin stopped the effort he was doing and looked at Arya with a wrathful look.
"What do you think now? Is a child raised with affection weak?" ask Kevin.
Kevin does not answer Arya's question, then Arya grabs the bangs that cover Kevin's right eye using her sword sheath and shows it to the entire audience.
There was a startled cry from all over the arena, even a small swearing from Timothy, where Kevin's right eye should have been a mechanical eye, eyes looking very constras with Kevin's face. The eyes look like the robot eyes Arya has seen in the movies she has seen.
"When did you know that?" ask Kevin slowly.
"Since the first time we met, but at first I thought it was just a plan from your adoptive family so that you could become the most powerful Elementalist. But I just found out the truth recently"
"Huhh, what do you mean?"
"This explains all about your cold, thin nature, and why you hate me and Asuna. We have a better fate than you" Arya replied as she pointed to Kevin's right eye.
"You know nothing" he whispered.
"Your mother gave her child to the wrong person"
"YOU KNOW NOTHING! SO YOU BETTER SHUT UP" Kevin snapped.
After saying that somehow Kevin got his power back, he managed to swing his mace despite only a weak swing. Arya managed to avoid the swing in time and also managed to pull her sword from the wall. Kevin raised his broken right hand into the air and shouted.
"Lightning Thief"
Suddenly the lighting in that place dimmed, Kevin absorbed the electrical energy around him and caused the electrical energy in that place to become unstable. Golden yellow electricity was seen gathered in his right hand, after using the technique Kevin's body glowed and flowed electric voltage, even his hair also stood up because of the electricity.
"I'll finish this with one strike" Kevin told Arya.
"As you wish, come here" Arya said as she mounted the horses.
Kevin focused all the electrical energy on his left hand, the left hand holding the mace was lit up with his light. Arya did the same thing, she collected water vapors all over the arena. And focused everything onto the sword he held. The match arena shook violently due to these two great energies. The two of them immediately charged forward while shouting.
"Electric Smite"
"Ice Cutter"
The two dasyat attacks collided with each other and caused the arena and the surrounding area to be hit by an extraordinary explosion, after the effects of the two attacks began to diminish the two figures of people fighting was again seen. They turned their backs on each other still holding their respective weapons, they were silent and motionless for a while.
Everyone watching held their breath, then one of the two fell down while bending their knees and holding their shoulders. Arya held her left shoulder, her shoulder was visibly injured as a result of Kevin's attack. The shoulder was blackened like it was hit by something hot. Even on the left shoulder Arya still looks a little yellow electric sparks.
All the attention moved from Arya to Kevin who was still standing, the audience was ready to welcome the winner but suddenly Kevin coughed out blood from his mouth and very quickly his body was covered with ice, and his body was covered with ice, within seconds his body had been trapped in a giant chunk of ice. Immediately the arena of the match rumbled, everyone cheered to welcome the winner.
Astral re-entered the arena and checked Kevin's condition, after being satisfied to check he also gave a cross to the other Exam Supervisors.
"The winner of this match is Arya Frost!!!" astral shouted announcing to the entire audience.
The fanfare in the arena grew even more after hearing the Astral announcement, but Arya paid no heed to it all. His head felt heavy and he could not feel his left shoulder, he got up from where he bent his knees and walked towards the ice block that trapped Kevin's body. As he walked Astral patted him on the shoulder and said an incredible match (more or less like that which he could hear).
Kevin who was trapped inside the ice block was unable to move he still opened his eyes, he looked desperately to maintain his consciousness. He realizes Arya's arrival and throws a weak look at Arya.
"You win, you can do anything to me. Don't you want to avenge that woman?" ask Kevin slowly.
"You don't have to say anything unnecessary" Arya replied as she pointed her sword at Kevin.
Arya was ready to swing her sword, Kevin closed his eyes and resigned to what happened next. Soon Allucia and Liquite rushed towards the arena to prevent Arya, but the two people were stopped by Astral. He gave a signal to wait and see what would happen.
Then Arya swung her sword at high speed, it passed through Kevin's body quickly and instantly causing the chunk of ice that trapped Kevin to shatter into pieces. Arya turned her back to Kevin and turned her sword and sheathed it back. Kevin's body fell to the floor, he was still unconscious and tried with his last strength to make a sound.
"K...k...Why are you.......?" he asked slowly, but he did not manage to finish the question from his mouth. He was already unconscious.

"I'm surprised you didn't try to stop Arya like you did when you tried to stop Kevin in the previous game" Zayn told Timothy after they saw what happened in the arena.
"Mmm how is it? I'm just sure that Arya wouldn't do something like that" Timothy replied with a smile.
Then Timothy turned around while stretching his body, he walked towards the passageway behind them.
"We'd better get ready, I can't wait to beat you and catch up with Arya in the final" Timothy said, turning to Zayn.
Zayn just shrugged his shoulders hearing that and immediately caught up with Timothy who was walking towards the passageway.

Kevin woke up with his head felt completely hit by something heavy, he sat down from where he lay. He did not know where he was, only he knew it was full of white, and he threw his gaze all over the room. He stopped at one point, he saw Arya sitting next to Asuna's bed. Arya's body has been treated and some parts of her body are bandaged.
There was a bandage covering his left hand and also a cloth wrapped around his neck he looked like a man who had just had an accident and broke his left hand, then he also saw Asuna who was lying on the bed in front of Arya.
The woman was wearing white patient clothes, her black hair was unraveling around her head. He uses a breathing apparatus placed around his mouth and nose, and Kevin also realizes that his right hand is also bandaged exactly like the bandage Arya wears.
"You awake? How are you doing?" arya asked without turning her eyes away from Asuna.
Kevin did not reply, they both kept quiet and said nothing within minutes. Then Arya broke the silence.
"I'm sorry"
"What's? Why are you apologizing? I should've been......."
"On those eyes, if I had realized earlier I might have been able to help you to dispel the hatred that was within you. And maybe I'm with other friends who can introduce you to the feeling of having a real family" Arya replied while looking at Kevin seriously.
"A.. I. I don't need.." said Kevin slowly, he didn't know what to say after hearing Arya's words.
"Hey Kevin, I will win this Exam and become the Elementalist chairman. Then I will release you from your foster family, after which I will make them pay for their treatment of you. Elementalists were not experimental beasts that they could treat at will"
Hearing those words unconsciously tears dripped from Kevin's eyes, he could not help but tear his cheek. He sobbed loudly he felt sorry for what he did, he tried to apologize to Arya but the words that came out of his mouth were only a raucous cry that was unclear. Arya then walked over to her bedside.
"From now until forever we are friends" Arya said as she brandished her right fist.
Kevin then wiped his tears and touched his left fist on Arya's hand, for the first time Arya saw Kevin smile. It looked like the smile of a child who had just slipped out of the shackles that had long since held him back. Then after the atmosphere began to calm and relax they began to talk.
"Well, by the way, how can you match my speed? I thought you'd survive like you did against Elizabeth" asked Kevin.
"That's because I trained together.............."
Arya did not manage to clear her answer because suddenly the door of the treatment room opened, and a small, blonde-haired figure immediately ran over and hugged her tightly.
"Sir Aryan.....!!!! You succeeded! All of our training and hard work paid off" cried Elizabeth excitedly still while hugging Arya tightly.
"Aw...aw...aw Elizabeth my body still hurts, hug her not TIGHT!" yell Arya in pain.
But Elizabeth did not pay attention to the screams of pain from Arya, it turns out Elizabeth is not alone. Rena also goes to the treatment room, congratulating Arya and asking how Kevin is doing. She said she was a bit worried about the two of them after seeing their previous fight, Arya and Kevin calmed Rena down with a smile and said so she wouldn't worry.
"Ehhh....What do we get here? Why are your eyes red? Did you just cry for losing to Arya?" elizabeth sneered while pointing at Kevin's eyes.
"I'm not crying, you midget!!!" reply Kevin.
"WHAT?! I'm not a midget!" elizabeth said as she leapt onto Kevin's bed and grabbed Kevin's hair.
Arya and Rena can only laugh to see the two children fighting, of course Elizabeth won easily because of Kevin's condition is not good. Elizabeth won the wrestling easily.
"Have a minute, Arya, do you know?" elizabeth asked while looking over Kevin's hair.
"mmm? Aboutwhat? I haven't known anything since I got in here"
"In the Final match, Arya's sister will fight Zayn"
