Chapter 19 - Secret Mission

Without Arya realizing it turned out that the second stage Elementalist Examination was in sight, one day when they were all gathered in the cafeteria. A little boy came to them to make an announcement from the Examiners, the boy said the Elementalists were instructed to gather at a predetermined time and place.

So that is why they are currently sitting in pairs in a classroom while waiting for the Exam Supervisors, he said, as it was accustomed and did not need to be ordered anymore Arya and Asuna sat together on a chair at one of the tables. Although a few minutes earlier there was little tension between Asuna and Elizabeth who blamed their seating position, after Arya intervened, Elizabeth finally relented and immediately sat next to Zayn who was in the corner of the room.

A few minutes later the door opened and revealed the figure of the Astral Supervisor who in a deft motion closed the door again, he walked to the center of the room and looked at them with a small smile.

"I think you all know why you're all gathered here"

They replied in unison while nodding vigorously, to be honest they were all already impatient to carry out this second stage Examination. Naturally not if they are impatient?, vacation is fun but if too long the body will feel itchy because it is never moved. Maybe those are the right words to describe their current condition.

"It's good then, but before I explain what the second stage Elementalist Exam will look like I'll announce a slight change" Astral said as he pulled out a scroll from inside his suit pocket.

"What announcement? Do you know anything?" whispered Asuna to Arya.

"No, he never said anything to me"

"How can you not know?, you are the Chairman of the Elementalists" Asuna said with an expression of disbelief.

"Whispering, how do I know. Do you expect I'll know everything that's gonna happen? I am also not graduated to Elementalist like you, our position is the same here" Arya replied annoyed.

"The announcement was a change of teammates" Astral said reading the scroll in his hand.

There was the same astonished tone from all the Elementalist couples in the room, could it be that they had misheard. That was what Arya thought at first.

"Wait a minute, Supervisor, but what's the reason our colleagues have to change?" timothy was confused.

"Good question Mr. Timothy, the reason is that in actual combat you cannot choose who your comrades will be. So we the Exam Inspectors decided to keep changing your colleagues at every stage of the next Elementalist Exam, so that you can all work well together"

Arya understood now, the point was that the Exam Supervisors wished they could cooperate with all the existing peers. It does not depend on just one partner.

"But Supervisor, we can even work together" Asuna protested as she raised her hand.

"I don't mind, I'm sure I can work with the others. It might even be better than working with Asuna" Arya said.

"Just calm down, your partner in this first stage of the Examination is your core team. So if it's time for you to go on a mission, your comrades will remain the same as they are today" Astral explained.

"Ahh not exciting" complained Arya.

"You really want to die!?" asuna.

"All right I will explain how the second stage Elementalist Examination, this test is simple. You only need to create your own Elemental Weapon within the allotted time, at this stage there will be no winners as this is not a competition like the first stage. But rest assured there will be severe penalties for the last team"

"What is an Elemental Weapon?" elizabeth was confused.

"Elemental Weapon is a personal weapon belonging to an Elementalist where the weapon will only be used by its master, the weapon can also channel the abilities of its owner's elements so that their abilities can be maximized. This Elemental Weapon is one of the attributes needed to become a perfect Elementalist" Arya replied quickly.

"Fright" said Astral pleased because he did not need to explain it again.

"Sister Arya is smart" Elizabeth praised in amazement.

"It turns out that nesting in the Library is useful" Timothy chirped.

"Supervisors don't make that Elemental Weapon require special materials?" ask Kevin.

"True, that's your job this time. You must find the right materials for your Elemental Weapon and create your own Elemental Weapon within the allotted time"

"Kevin Storm and Asuna Blaze"

"Hey Captain are you sure they'll be okay?" timothy asked Arya.

Just then the two of them were walking towards the Library, all of them were gathered there to find out what materials they would look for for the second stage Elementalist Examination. Arya and Rena have promised to meet there to discuss their plans for the test.

"I don't know either, we can only hope" Arya replied softly.

Actually Arya herself did not know what kind of comment to make about Kevin and Asuna's team, after the incident that happened at the first stage Elementalist Examination they were both mediocre. But Arya could not imagine what if the two of them would cooperate.

"I can't imagine the two stubborn men working together on a mission" Timothy murmured.

"We can only pray for them, this is also one of the tests for them. Whether they can work together or not"

Just as Arya says this, they cross paths with Asuna and Kevin as Arya attempts to open the Library's door.

"Eh? Where are you guys going?" ask Arya.

"Whispering, as a fire Elementalist can you not burn the anger of others?" reply Kevin.

"Kevin?!" call Arya.

Kevin stopped his steps and turned to Arya with a questioning look.

"Please take care of Asuna" Arya said with a smile

"Of course, me too. Titip Rena to you Captain" replied Kevin with a smile and immediately reply following Asuna.

"It's not so bad" Timothy murmured.

Rena had been waiting for Arya at one of the tables that had been provided in the Library, she immediately approached him and sat next to Rena.

"Sorry, have you been waiting for a long time?" ask Arya.

"B.be..be not yet hehehe I also just arrived Captain Arya" replied Rena with a little shame.

"Don't call me that, I look like a boss who imposes a will on his men, just call Arya. Okay?"

"But it should be....."

"It's okay, uh sorry. Am I getting too close?" arya said while trying to get a little away from Rena.

"It's okay anyway" Rena replied finally in a loud voice after Arya moved away.

Rena is the type of woman who is shy, Arya wants to help her so that she feels comfortable near men. But to be honest he himself did not know how to help Rena.

"Well let's start with what kind of material are you going to look for Rena? Before that if I may know what kind of weapon you're using?" ask Arya.

"I'm not very good at fighting, I just use a stick as a weapon" Rena replied slowly.

"Mmm Arya? Is it okay to look for my ingredients first? What about the materials you're looking for?" rena asked while trying to help Arya pick up some books.

"Not that great, well it seems like the wood from the trees of Eden and Yggdrasil is too difficult to obtain. I'm not sure I can find it, how about we search for the books I've chosen. I'm sure we can find some good material"

When he found what he was looking for, he immediately brought the book to Rena. Rena was a little surprised because of the enthusiasm of Arya.

"I told you before that Eden and Yggdrasil would produce the right wood to be the Elemental Weapon material, right? But because both trees are very difficult to get we can not look for it" explained Arya.

Rena nodded while listening seriously.

"Because of that how about we take a small piece from Yggdrasil" Arya said with a spirited smile.

"How?" rena asked still trying to digest what Arya wanted to say.

"Yggdrasil is the tree of the world, in which there is a world. One of them was Alfheim, where the Elves came from"

Rena's eyeballs widened, indicating that she began to understand what Arya wanted to say.

"And when the Elves arrived in this world, I was sure that there was a small piece of Yggdrasil here" Arya said, pointing to the book she was carrying.

"So you mean......"

"Yep, we're going to Fairy Forest. The forest that became the territory of the Elves" Arya whispered without being able to remove the smile from her face.

Before the Elementalists set out to run this second stage Elementalist Examination they were asked to report to the Exam Supervisors about what kind of materials they would be looking for, he said, and after the Exam Supervisor approved the materials they wanted then they would set out to carry out the exam.

But therein lies the problem, Arya is not sure the Examination Supervisors will give her permission to enter the territory of the Elves and somehow get the wood from the Yggdrasil pieces. He and Rena had already discussed the proper way to ask for permission but he thought all the reasons they had made were not very supportive.

And this is where they are right now, right in front of the consulting room door. Two days before departure, if the Examiners do not allow it it can be very hampering and draining of their time. There was no turning back, Arya took a deep breath and reached for the door of the room.

Astral had been waiting for them in the room, he allowed them to enter and sit before him. Then Astral asked them to convey what materials they would look for, Arya also explained his plan with Rena to enter the Elf region and unexpectedly Astral did not look surprised in the slightest.

"I didn't expect it to be this fast, but it seems like it's the right time to tell you. Especially to you Mr. Arya, since you are the Chairman of the current generation Elementalist" Astral said finally in a serious tone.

"What do you mean?" ask Arya.

"There are actually two organizations fighting for their influence in this world. These two organizations are named Fatum and Pax, these two organizations have members of all races that exist in the world today. These two organizations have opposite goals, where Fatum aims to make the world work. As per destiny, the strong will rule the weak, while Pax aims to create an ideal world where equality and cooperation between all races exist"

"Tu.wait a moment Astral Overseer, let me think for a moment" Arya said cutting off the Astral explanation.

He did not expect to receive such a heavy material before they set off for the second stage of the Examination, he turned to Rena who also looked overwhelmed by the reality he had just received.

"Maybe I'll make it simpler, the point is that we Exam Supervisors are members of the Pax organization. We aim to make peace between all races, and we are tasked with preparing you Elementalists. As peacemakers, you are an ace to this organization"

"Then can you further simplify the purpose of the Facum organization?" ask Arya.

"That's right Fatum Mr. Arya, not Facum. Their goal is to legalize slavery and trigger a great war between races, because they think that is the true destiny of the world" Astral explained.

"That doesn't sound good to me" Rena sings quietly.

"So since you guys want to go towards Fairy Forest, I want to give you a mission"

"Mission?" reset Arya.

"That's not a small number" Arya commented with a hiss.

"The mission I will give you is, I want you to form an alliance with the Elves" Astral said firmly.

"What?!" yell Aryan.

"Alliances?" reset Rena.

"At this time the Elves who joined the Pax organization are increasingly desperate, this is due to the influence of the Fatum organization is very large there. Many of them longed for the glory of the Elves in the past and wanted to make that happen once again but, Elves were an authoritarian race. "If we manage to make the Queen they want to work together then.

"There will be an alliance between Elves and Humans" added Rena.

"Truly, imagine if we could work with them. We can certainly realize our dreams, where the Human race does not need to hide anymore" Astral said with a smile.

"That means by giving this mission, you approve and allow us to search the elves' territory for material?" arya said make sure.

Astral nodded, Arya could not hide her excitement. He immediately shouted and hugged Rena who was at the side, he did not care about how they would make an alliance with the Elves. What is clear is that he is very happy because they have been allowed to go there.

"But I hope you remember this, give precedence to your Exams. This mission is an additional task, so if you don't succeed even if it's not a problem. I dare to guarantee your safety, the Elf members of Pax will accompany you while you are there"

"Thus we can enter the Elf territory more easily" said Arya while releasing a hug from Rena who looks like she will faint if Arya does not release her embrace.

"I beg you when you are there to give your safety first, and also please keep your identity secret while you are there and keep this mission a secret from the other Elementalists"

Arya and Rena accept Astral's request. Then after that they say goodbye to Astral, but Arya was detained for a while so that Rena first out of the room.

"What else is a supervisor?" ask Arya.

"Sir Arya you haven't told me the material you're going to be looking for"

Hearing that Arya pointed up and pointed down again, Astral's eyes widened because he understood what Arya meant.

"I will make a very great Elemental Weapon Supervisor" Arya said with a smile and stepped out of the room.

After Arya left the room, Astral let out a long sigh.

"Are you sure of Gio's decision?" bianchi asked who suddenly appeared from the corner of the room.

"Of course, it's time they became the bridge of contact for the races"

On the morning of departure, Arya was waiting for Rena in front of the teleportation device. Arya was already wearing her gear, she was also carrying a backpack that she needed. "Let's Rena, we have to hurry" Arya called.

They walked down the hills where they arrived and walked into the shade of trees surrounding a river that became the boundary between the Elves and the Neutral region, after about 20 minutes of searching they finally found their meeting point. A Mistletoe tree that emits a very beautiful blue color, the light was very clear when the sun was shining very bright.

Arya deftly slipped and jumped across the river, and was followed quickly by Rena. Arya caught Rena who was about to fall because of her poor footing on landing, they breathed a sigh of relief. Then they walked closer and closer to the territory of the Elves.

Arya stuck out her hand, she could feel something textured like a transparent bubble sitting before her, it was the limiting magic of the Elf race. With this magic they can easily detect intruders. The entire border of their territory is coated by the magic, each region of their power expanded this magic also expanded.

"We're in the right place, aren't we?" rena asked doubtfully.

Arya nodded, one day before departure. Precisely yesterday, Astral came to see him and gave him a parchment containing about the coordinates of their meeting point with the Elf members of Pax, the parchment also contained about their promise to pick up Arya and Rena. Suddenly his head was buzzing, it happened so fast that he fell down and his consciousness began to disappear. The last thing he remembered before fainting was the worried sound of Rena calling her name repeatedly and also the sound of footsteps approaching.
