Chapter 20 - Engagement

Arya gasped awake, she immediately got up from her lying position. He did not remember what happened before he fainted, the last thing he remembered was that he and Rena had already managed to enter the Fairy Forest, the last thing he could remember, a moment after passing the Elf territory barrier magic suddenly his head felt buzzing and he lost his consciousness. But now he's feeling better, arguably even better. He does not remember when he felt the condition of his body as good as this, after blinked a few times finally Arya's eyes began to get used to the light that was in the place. He began to spread his eyes around him.

He was in a room that looked like a room, because in that room there were a lot of furniture such as tables and bookshelves. And all these items were made of wood, even the bed that Arya was sitting on now was also made of wood. It's just coated with something soft and tender so it's comfortable to lie down.

As he was looking around, suddenly the door of the room opened, and he saw a blonde elf carrying a tray with a plate and a glass on it. They looked at each other for a while, then Arya deftly pointed her right hand towards the Elf. Instantly, the grains of ice gathered on Arya's palm, immediately the Elf released the tray she was carrying while raising her hand hinting that she was giving up.

"Can you not direct that to me? You don't need to be so alert, and just your information is now in my house" the Elf said with an anxious look.

His voice of this Elf turned out to be heavier than he expected, could it be that this Elf was a male gender Arya thought. Even though the Elf had said that, Arya did not care about it and still pointed her right hand at the Elf.

"Mmm maybe this can help, Miss Rena can you help me here?" call the Elf out of the room.

Arya heard a step from outside the room, and Rena's figure was seen entering the room with a questioning face.

"Help you do what Eridan.......Captain Arya?!" cry Rena when she sees Arya.

"Rena? You okay?" ask Arya.

Rena immediately approached Arya and held Arya's right hand, Rena looks very anxious and happy to see Arya is awake.

"What did you say? Should I ask you that? You suddenly fainted and....."

"Sorry to worry you, you must be very anxious" said Arya calming Rena.

"Emm it's okay, thank God you're finally awake" Rena said with a smile.

"Eee excuse me, Mr Arya? I'm sorry to bother you guys but, am I allowed to move?" asked the Elf who had raised his hand.

Arya nodded and immediately the Elf snapped her finger, just straight away the tray she had taken off while raising her hand back to her hand quickly. Arya only realized that the tray had not fallen, but floated a few centi from the floor. The elf had just used magic, he then pulled over from the door while looking at Arya and also Rena.

"It looks like you have a lot of questions, so if you're interested can we talk in a more comfortable place?" he said with a smile.

Arya agreed and immediately stood up, The elf immediately stepped up as if to say please follow me.

"Rena can you explain to me briefly what happened after I was unconscious?" whispered Arya.

"Mmm after you were unconscious I was very scared, very creepy to be in unknown territory and your partner suddenly fainted. But fortunately Eridan and some Elves from Pax soon arrived and they brought you here, they were Elves who promised to pick us up" explained Rena.

They arrived at a room that looked like a living room, they were welcome to sit down. Arya and Rena sat next to the Elf sitting across the table, then she clapped her hand three times and miraculously three glasses of drink appeared on the table.

"Please drink it" he said with a smile.

Arya raised her glass, the drink was pink and gave off a heady smell. Honestly, he was hesitant after seeing the color of the drink, but because he felt disrespectful if he did not drink it. He sipped the drink a little, it did not taste too bad.

"So, what do you want to ask?"

"Can you introduce yourself first" said Arya a little sniffy.

"Ahh forgive me for my impoliteness, introduce my name is Eridan D'Azuldria. I am one of the nobles of the Azuldria family, although I actually don't really like the name anyway" Eridan said as he stood up and bowed respectfully to Arya.

"Greetings to Eridan, I'm sorry for what happened just now and thank you for helping me and Rena"

"It's okay, it's my job. As written in the agreement" Eridan replied a little timidly.

"Where are we now?" ask Arya at last.

"Don't I tell you, this is home......."

"Yes, I know this is your house. I mean where are we at now?" arya said while sighing.

"I'm sorry, we're in Mediopolis now" Eridan replied with a laugh.

"Mediopolis?"

"Yes, there are 5 major cities in the Elf region. Nortearm, Esterall, Surealle, Oestecya, and Mediopolis. Mediopolis is right in the middle of the Fairy Forest, and this town is where Arboles Castle is located, which means that the town is the seat of the Elven race"

"It's great, you really took us right into the middle of the enemy base" Arya said.

"Don't say that, you make me look bad. Smuggling you here isn't easy"

"Hahaha I'm just kidding, doesn't that mean what we're looking for is in this place? That's why you brought us here"

"True, the tree you're looking for. The Hellig tree is in this place, is there anything else you want to ask?"

"Mmm do you know why I suddenly fainted?" arya asked finally after thinking for a while.

"Maybe it's because you came into contact with Elf magic for the first time" Eridan replied lightly.

"But Rena is okay even when it comes to Elf magic" said Arya astonished.

"Yes, obviously, right? Because Miss Rena is an ordinary human being" Eridan replied with a confused looking face.

"You mean I'm not human? That's right" Arya said in disbelief while directing her gaze from Eridan to Rena.

But it turned out that Rena was also looking at him with a strange look, exactly with the gaze that Eridan had just given her solids.

"What?" arya was confused.

"Don't tell me you don't know it either" Eridan said seriously.

"Know what?!"

"Captain Arya lest......"

"What the hell are you talking about?" arya is running out of patience.

Then Eridan took an empty frame from the drawer next to his seat, he whispered something and suddenly from the empty frame came a liquid rippling like water. Then he pointed it at Arya.

"You'd better see it for yourself" said Eridan calmly.

"Mirror?" chirp Arya while looking at the liquid.

He brought his face closer to the mirror, as he hoped to see his usual face. His heart slipped, from behind the mirror he did not see himself looking back at him. He even looked at each other with a white-haired male Elf who was also looking at him confusedly, somehow the Elf inside the mirror did not look foreign to him.

She held her own hair, and the Elf in the mirror did the same. Then he held his nose, the Elf imitated him again. Then he finally held his ear and he screamed loudly.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BODY!!!"

"Why can I be like this?" arya asked Eridan while pulling the collar of her clothes.

"Pacify yourself, sir....."

"How can I calm down?!" cut Arya fast.

"I'm also very confused and honestly a little scared" said Rena slowly.

"I understand how you feel, Rena, now replied Eridan. Why?!" aryan.

"Alright I'll answer, but before that can you loosen your grip? I can't breathe" Eridan replied with a blue face.

Arya immediately took it off, Eridan took a deep breath in gratitude. Arya gave him a chance to breathe for a while, after which Eridan tidied up his clothes that were messy due to Arya's actions. Then he looked at Arya while saying.

"That's because you have Elf blood flowing through your body"

Hearing that answer Arya's stomach felt nauseous, she sat back in her chair while staring at the floor. He was trying to digest what Eridan had just said.

"But how can it?" arya said after being silent for a while.

"I heard from my father that your mother was a Half-Elf. They both know each other when your mother comes to the birthplace of her mother aka your grandmother"

"So you mean? My grandmother was an Elf?" arya said in surprise.

"It should be, but I honestly don't know the story either. But by looking at your form now I can tell that you are also a Half-Elf, maybe a quarter Elf more precisely"

"I don't understand why my grandfather married an Elf, what did he think? Do the Exam Supervisors know this?"

"Mmm I don't know, I never discussed this with them because I thought they already knew it" Eridan said while thinking.

"Can I talk to your father to find out more about this story?" ask Arya.

"My father has died in the war, now it is only me and my brother in this family" Eridan replied with a grim look.

"Pardon me, I don't know"

"It's okay, we've also let it go. Actually you have a physical characteristic of an Elf that is very visible Mr. Arya, do you not realize it? We both have something in common" Eridan said back in spirit.

Arya watched Eridan for a moment and looked for what the two of them had in common, after searching for a while she found him. And he remembered the words that were often said by people who knew his mother.

"Our eyes are the same" whispered Arya.

"True, the color of your eyes is the physical characteristic of an Elf. In fact, the Elf race consists of 5 families, namely Azuldria, Rodria, Blandria, Negdria, and Orodria. They have different eye colors blue, red, white, black, and gold."

"So you're saying my grandmother was an Azuldria?"

"From the color of your eyes it should be like that"

"I just found out information about the 5 families" said Arya interested.

"interesting right? At first these five families were at war with each other, but eventually united because they felt they needed each other. They also had different skills, Azuldria was known for their intelligence, Rodria with their fighting skills, Blanders with their magic, Negdria with their cunning, and Orodria with their dominance" obviously Eridan with passion.

"Ahh too much information and reality that I have to accept when I just realized myself" complained Arya.

"But isn't that good, you can know more about your mother" Rena said.

"By the way how long have I fainted?" ask Arya at last.

"Mmm about 1 and a half days, it's almost night" replied Eridan.

Eridan nodded, in fact Arya realized that this house was already surrounded. He could feel about 15 people who were ready to barge inside, Arya gestured for Eridan to protect Rena. Then with a flash Arya put on her cloak coat and immediately jumped into the corner of the room to retrieve her sword.

The incident happened very quickly, just as Arya pulled half her sword from the sheath there were already five sword blades pointed right at her neck. While ten other Elves were besieging Eridan and Rena, Arya was a little relieved that it seemed like Eridan had managed to use her magic to disguise Rena's form so that the Elf Warriors did not look suspicious of her demons. In the chaos, Rena also managed to use her cloak coat.

"Mr Eridan D'Azuldria you are under arrest for allegedly smuggling foreigners without permission into the Elves' territory" said a tall, red-eyed Elf who appeared to be the leader of the force.

"Mmm hello Reiss? But do you have any evidence of that?" eridan asked calmly even though his face was already filled with cold sweat.

"This incident happened yesterday, the limiting magic at one point weakened. After the investigation of the magic trail at that place led us to this place, isn't that enough for you?" asked that Elf named Reiss sarcastically.

"No, I think that's more than enough hahaha" Eridan said with a laugh.

"Prepare, you three will be brought before the Queen"

The three of them were led to a very large tree, from the outside there were many holes that seemed to be windows. The huge tree was the Arboles Castle, Arya was amazed and thoughtless of how the Elves could bewitch the huge tree into a castle, they enter it through a giant gilded wooden gate on the left and there are guards that use complete equipment.

After entering the castle, they were directed towards a room that Arya had assumed to be a throne room. Sure enough in the room there was a throne made of silver in the middle of the room, they walked on the red carpet that led to the throne. To the left and right of the red carpet stood the Elf nobles who looked at them with contemptuous gazes.

After finally stopping walking, Arya observed the surroundings. Now he agreed with the opinion of one of the books he read in the library that said that the Elves had handsome and beautiful faces, here he saw that it was true.

Then after being satisfied to see around he ventured to look up at the throne, there sat a blonde female Elf with blue eyes just like Arya's eyes. She was wearing a beautiful white dress, with a crown on her head with five blue, red, gold, white, and black gems lined up in sequence.

The Queen looks very beautiful even though now the beauty looks a little dimmed because it is eaten time, Arya felt a piercing view of the Queen directed at her. To the right of the Queen stood a younger female Elf, she was no less beautiful than the Queen. She looks like the younger version of the Queen, she is wearing a white dress with a combination of blue. On his head was a silver tiara with a very beautiful blue gem. Arya felt like she had seen the Elf, somewhere.

Curious as to what was going on, Reiss stepped forward and bent his knees to pay his respects to the Queen. He then spoke in a loud voice.

"I'm sorry to interrupt your meeting Your Majesty, but I've done the duty you've given me"

"Report" the Queen's orders quietly.

Reiss immediately stood back up and stepped towards Arya, Rena, and Eridan. Then holding Eridan's shoulder he said.

"I Reiss D'Rodria has arrested the suspected smuggler of the stranger, along with his smugglers"

After saying that he pushed Arya, Rena, and Eridan so the three of them stepped forward.

"Eridans? What are you doing?" ask the Elf standing next to the Queen's throne

"Hehehe hello Princess" Eridan replied with a hollow laugh.

"Why can you......"

"Alalea" call the Queen.

"But Grandma Eridan is a friend....."

"Enough!" cut the Queen.

Hearing the tone of her voice change Princess Alalea was silent, she still seemed to be in disbelief seeing her childhood friend Eridan get involved in this kind of matter. The queen looked back at the three of them, her gaze filled with dignity.

"Eridans? Can you explain all this?" ask Queen.

"As you can see, Your Majesty, I can't convey it any better" replied Eridan calmly.

After hearing the words of Eridan the Nobles in the room began to whisper to each other, then one of them spoke.

"You are humiliating the Nobles alone Eridan" chirped one of the black-eyed Elves.

"True, you should be ashamed and conscious. You are an Azuldria" said a blue-eyed female Elf.

"Snuggling strangers is really embarrassing, hey Reiss. Shouldn't you show the faces of those smugglers" said a fat, red-eyed Elf.

Hearing these words Reiss stepped closer to Rena, he stuck his hand out toward the hood of Rena's robe. But Rena dodged and stepped closer to Arya while hugging her hand, Arya could feel Rena's hand trembling.

"Hey you woman, take off the hood of the robe while facing the Queen" ordered Reiss as he tried to reach her again.

"Don't you dare touch her" Arya said coldly.

"What?"

"If you touch a strand of her hair, be prepared to lose your right hand"

"Huh? who do you think you are?" reiss said he didn't care.

"Try it" Arya said as she looked at Reiss.

Arya's gaze was very intimidating, to the point that Reiss stopped her hand sticking out. The air temperature of the room suddenly decreased, and a wind blew making the hood of Arya's robe come off and reveal her Elf form.

Debgan sprightly the Elf soldiers who caught them drew their swords towards Arya.

"Ck, this guy." Reiss said with a creepy face.

"Don't he be a Dark Elf" one of the golden-eyed nobles chimed in.

"ENOUGH!" the voice of the Queen was enlarged.

That voice echoed in the head of Arya and the others.

"I know him, can you guys just let me talk to him alone?" the Queen said firmly.

"But His Majesty is dangerous" Reiss replied.

"Right, Your Majesty, look at this man's hair" the fat Rodria noble said.

"This time, I slightly agree with them grandma" added Princess Alalea.

"I said no, I know him. Do you doubt me?" said the Queen with a high voice.

Instantly they all lowered their heads and obediently stepped out of the throne room including Rena and also Eridan, after the door of the throne room was closed the Queen whispered something that made a soft light envelop the room.

"I didn't expect the humans to send their best fighting force here" the Queen said.

Hearing that Arya jumped back away from the throne while preparing to draw her sword, but the Queen just stared at her without moving a single bit.

"How do you know?" ask Arya slowly.

"You should know, white hair is unusual for Elves. That's why they think you're a Dark Elf, and you'd better calm down. I've been bouncing this room so no one can eavesdrop on this conversation. So you're safe" explained the Queen.

"If you already know that I am an Elementalist why don't you just arrest and kill me?"

The queen was silent for a moment, then she answered him lightly.

"Because it's not interesting"

"What?!"

"Tell me what was your purpose in coming here? And don't try to lie because I can easily figure it out"

Arya was actually hesitant to tell the truth, but she did not want the situation to get worse so she then explained to the Queen about the second stage Elementalist Examination, and her goal was to find the Elemental Weapon material.

"Mmm I didn't think you guys weren't even mature Elementalists yet and you've already dared to enter the Elf realm, a very foolish act" the Queen commented.

Arya was a little upset to hear that, because she was the one who made this plan.

"But aren't you an Ice Elementalist? Why are you looking for Elemental Weapon materials here?"

"The girl I was with was a Natural Elementalist" Arya replied.

"Ahh Natural Elementalist yes, Mmm so you wish me. Elf Queen, will you let you get a material that you will use against us? And don't you also expect an alliance? Don't dream, do you think I'll allow it?" the Queen said with a laugh.

Arya gulped, to be honest she felt that she had exposed their plan to the enemy leader.

"Well shall I do" said the Queen stopping her laughter.

"Eh? What's?"

"I said I would agree to it but on one condition" said the Queen.

Arya was a little surprised to hear what the Queen said, but if this can facilitate their goals there is no harm to try, right?

"What conditions do you want?" arya asked hesitantly.

"You'll find out soon enough" the Queen replied with a mysterious smile.

The Queen flicked her finger and the door of the throne room opened again, and people flocked back into the room. Arya soon reunites with Rena and Eridan. Then the Queen gestured for all silence, and she called Arya to come closer.

"Include yourself" he ordered.

"Include me, my name is Arya" Arya said as she bowed.

Woe why I used my real name, ahh that's it. I wonder why he told me to introduce myself, but if this can really help us achieve our goals then.....

"As you can hear. He was Arya, he was the representative of the Elves, who had been exiled in the past. He is here with the aim of improving the relationship between the two sides" the Queen announced with enthusiasm.

Everyone who heard that looked puzzled, including Arya herself. Is the Queen making a disguise for him?

"Therefore I would like to betroth him to my grandson, Alalea D'Azuldria" the Queen said happily.

"Huh?" timpal Arya and Alalea.
