Chapter 36 - Separate

"Werewolf is at the South Pole?! What are they doing in this place?" arya couldn't believe it.

"Well, why are you asking that to a man who's been stuck for almost 2,000 years?" sahut Rei's.

"But...the darkness here is very...Different, do you feel it?" chirps Rena slowly.

"I also felt it, and strangely. I can't feel the power like the one at the North Pole" Arya said as she unfolded her fist.

"Hmm this is bad, my sister has a personality that is hard to explain. It looks like he put something up in this place, and it could be that it is the reason why the Werewolves are wandering around here" Rei explained.

Arya walked around carefully, trying to observe around and familiarize her eyes with the minimal lighting in the place. "Why is this place so dark! Even the aurora borealis is not in this place?!" his hiss while stirring up into the sky.

"Mmm...Well, how many months is this?" ask Rei suddenly.

"How many months?" rena Rena confused.

"This is June 21, meaning the 6th month. Eh?! Wait a minute..don't-don't—" replied Arya who seemed to realize something.

"Hmm..seems like you've noticed it too, if this is the middle of the 6th month then it's only natural that the darkness here is unnatural"

"meaning?" asked Rena who looked still did not understand.

"In the period of mid-June to mid-September, the position of the Sun will be in the Northern Hemisphere" Arya replied as she turned towards Rena, "And in other words...."

"The South Pole will always experience the night for the next three months" Rei continued.

"What?!"

"Argh....why have I never predicted this before?" lamented Arya while sitting on the snow.

"Dealing with Werewolf's at night was a bit off.riskan" Rei commented.

"So...what's our next plan?" asked Rena while approaching Arya.

Arya was silent for a while while looking thoughtfully hard, she finally let out a long sigh then immediately stood up while saying.

"We will stick to the original plan, which is to look for the South Black Winter Diamond but with a record of trying our best not to deal with the Werewolves. Do you understand?"

Rena immediately smiled while nodding earnestly, while Rei immediately appeared with his white form and with a haughty face stroking his beard.

"Heh, as I expected from Shion's descendants, if you'd rather back off. I'll collect your promise soon"

"Rena, I'm sorry. Maybe this will be a little dangerous, so please be careful" Arya said seriously.

"Hey! You deliberately ignored me huh?!"

"For that, we should find the location of those Werewolves first. Rei let out a little light to shine down on our path, and shut it down immediately if you notice the presence of another being" Arya ordered.

"Hey wait du—"

Before Rei finished his sentence, Arya and Rena had already darted to find where the Werewolves were.

After slipping carefully for an hour, they finally found a place that looked like a fortress. The place has wooden guardrails surrounding it as well as a collection of small huts standing around it.

Arya and Rena slowly climb to one of the hills around the place to better observe the fort. Both of them immediately turned their backs and threw a glance towards the fortress, Arya could see some figures that looked like humans and wolves around there.

"It looks like there are some Werewolves on duty to patrol, we have to be more careful" whispered Arya quietly so that only Rena can hear her.

"I don't think why did you come to this place?!" rei said annoyed.

"Why do you sound so upset?" reply Arya cuek.

"Don't answer people's questions with other questions Young master, it's very dangerous here. Why did we come to the Demon headquarters like this?"

"Because they could have kept the thing we were looking for, stop complaining old man"

"What?! The thing we're looking for is not in this place" exclaimed Rei in disbelief.

"Mmm...and how can you be so sure?" arya asked in a slightly condescending tone of voice.

"How can I be sure?! Did you forget that my masterpiece and my sister's are opposites? I just need to find the source of the energy it came from, and the fact is that the energy came from that place" Rei protested while pointing in the opposite direction.

Arya and Rena looked at the direction Rei pointed at, there towering a mountain that looked even more terrifying from a distance. The top of the mountain was not visible because it was covered by clouds.

"Alright, at least we know the position of the enemy and the object we are looking for is opposite. Why didn't you say it from the beginning?" aryan Syndicate.

"I've tried! You guys who don't want to hear, let's get out of here. The negative aura in this place makes me nauseous" whined Rei.

"You really hope we hear you? Don't you remember the last time we heard what you ended up like?" hiss Arya with a high voice.

"Oh..come on! You still talking about that? Look Arya we need to get away from this place right away, I can sense one of them is Werewolf Noble-Tier. And I'm sure with your current abilities, you don't want to deal with him"

"What is Noble-Tier?" chirps Rena.

Rei explained to the two of them that the Demon had several levels namely, Common-Tier, Rare-Tier, and Noble-Tier. The higher the level, the stronger the Demon. And to the werewolves of that level could be seen from their transformation.

Common-Tier level werewolves can only transform into full-fledged wolves that walk on four legs, Rare-Tier can transform into a wolf but still has the characteristic human body of walking on their two hind legs.

While Noble-Tier can transform into either Common-Tier or Rare-Tier, their original transformations show only a few wolf genes. Their bodies would only be overgrown with wolf hair in a not too much amount and their human form was still clearly visible.

The more humanly visible a Werewolf's transformation was, the higher his level and strength would be. There was actually one more level above Noble-Tier, they called it Demon-Lord. These Demon-Lords were only seven people, they were better known by the name of the Seven Great Sins.

Hearing that Arya gulped, she and Rena had met one of the Demon-Lords Rei had just told her about. Pride Sins; Kris Tepes, if one of the Werewolves in this place has a strength of one level below Kris. That would be the end for them, Arya could also see the fear in Rena's eyes.

Far away Arya could see a Werewolf with his human form walking closer to a cage that made a noise. The wooden cage trembled violently as the captives inside continued to revolt.

The man suddenly turned into a two meter tall black-feathered wolf monster. He pointed his sharp teeth while growling ferociously into the wooden cage, he ended the bluff by slamming his claws into the cage hard and with a moment the cage stopped shaking.

"What kind of creatures are they brackets there?" ask Rena worried.

"Okay, I don't know either. Eee....Rena's? Can you take your hand off my shoulder?" reply Arya.

"I've never clutched your shoulders" whispered Rena in confusion.

"Eh...then.." slowly Arya touched the hand that gripped her shoulder. He was very sure Rena's hand was not that big and hairy, he turned his head carefully to see who did it.

"Oh oh...we're in trouble—"

"YOU....!!!"

"Arya we have to get out of here! The creature called out to his flock" Rei shouted.

"While I was trying" Arya growled and then with a smooth motion threw a hard kick towards the Werewolf's head until he bounced away.

"Run!"

The two of them ran away in a gripping atmosphere, both of them could hear and feel the rumbling behind them which signaled the Werewolf herd was hunting them both. Arya who realized the increasingly irregular breathing of Rena immediately took her hand.

Arya brought Rena hidden behind a giant stone, with breathless Arya immediately turned to Rena while handing over a small leather pouch.

"Rena listen to me, this way we're gonna get caught. So go with Rei to find the location of the South Black Winter Diamond, I'll catch up with you soon" Arya ordered.

"A..ap...what are you going to do?!" asked Rena with an irregular breath.

"I'll distract them. Run in the opposite direction"

"No! Nah! Nah! I don't want to leave—"

"Sst....Rena please! Then we can both be—"

Arya's words came to a halt when she realized the howls of the wolves were right on the rock where they were hiding. A large gray wolf was seen sniffing on the stone but was not yet aware of their presence.

"Rei, protect Rena" whispered Arya quietly.

And without waiting any longer time immediately shot at high speed towards the opposite direction with the location of Rena. Soon the sound of howls that make the feathers goosebumps filled the air, Rena could only resignedly see a sea of gray creatures chasing Arya while howling towards the full moon.

"Rena we have to get out of here" Rei asked in a soft voice.

Arya sped her way down the hill using ice and snow in that place, not forgetting she slashed some cypress trees and made a barrier wall of ice to slow down the pace of her pursuers.

The sound of the collisions was heard indicating that what he was doing was working, but it did not last long. The Werewolf swarm immediately broke up their group so that Arya was now surrounded on the left and right side.

The herd was so organized that it made Arya wonder in her heart if this was what it was like to be a target for a herd of wolves, Arya pointed her way to a stepping stone.

But alas, just as he floated in the air a white-colored figure grabbed his neck and smashed his body to the ground. Arya could feel the catcher's sharp fingernails scratching her neck.

"Because of you!"

The sound was raucous, and more like a growl according to Arya. A white-haired man with wolf ears on his head strangled Arya even harder. Another pack of wolves numbering in the hundreds immediately surrounded them.

"Kekeke see what we got here, a human. Hmm it turned out to be no ordinary human apparently, the Ice Elementalist" the man sighed.

"What is it about capturing a rudimentary Elementalist like me that can make a Noble-Tier like you proud?" arya said with great difficulty.

"Well, you have no right to speak in this place, sir" he threatened.

"really? Why do you think so?"

The man turned into a giant white wolf monster while roaring loudly towards Arya, he returned to his human form with a astonished face. Because Arya's smile widened even more after she did that.

"Thank you for the great roar, that way I just need a little more vibration" Arya rang as she flicked her hand once.

Rumbling sounds were immediately heard from the top of the hill, far away they could all see a 5-meter-high snow wave heading right towards them. Before they were all buried, Arya had time to point her middle finger to the catcher. The werewolf could only bellow in annoyance before being rolled up by the avalanche.

Rena who saw all the events was about to catch up with Arya, but was immediately blocked by Rei with his white form. Rena was already on the verge of tears when Rei blocked her path.

"Rena, trust Arya. If you go there now, all the sacrifices will be in vain. Honestly, even though I just met you guys, I'm starting to understand what kind of person Arya is. He must have a plan"

Rena fought back, but in the end she was devastated after being persuaded many times by Rei. They finally left the place.

Arya fought hard out of the pile of snow while spewing out the snow that entered her mouth. He could feel his left leg being broken by the avalanche, he immediately rushed to roll away from the place as he could hear the sound of wolf howls in the distance.

It seemed like the pack of wolves had not given up on catching him, he kept rolling until he finally crashed into a fallen tree trunk.

"Aww!" hisses.

"My sister?!"

"Eh?"

From inside the fallen tree trunk appeared a small green-furred creature, the creature had a duck-like beak but its hands and feet looked like human babies. The creature looked at Arya with a questioning look.

"Hello little buddy, I'm sorry to bother you" Arya said as she sat down, checking her broken left leg once again. It doesn't look good.

"My sister pikku"

The green creature suddenly tugged at Arya's clothes, Arya stroked her fur gently. But the creature immediately walked away, when it was far enough he turned again towards Arya.

"Do you want me to follow you?" ask Arya.

"My sister!"

Arya then tried to stand with her feet to follow the little creature. After walking for a long time, he finally saw a scene that was quite shocking. He saw green shady trees in the distance.

The creature immediately entered into the collection of shady trees. Arya caught up to him with a hint of hesitation, how shocked she was when she realized the place she was standing was not covered in snow. There was not the slightest ice in that place, even the weather there felt warmer after he entered it.

"My sister!"

Aryan daydreams instantly froze, the little creature standing near something that looked like a giant bird's nest on the ground. He pointed at the nest enthusiastically.

"You...want me to rest in this place?" arya asked with a smile.

"My sister pikku"

"Thank you" cried Arya then stroked the creature once more before entering the nest.

He immediately reached into his bag and took out a small bottle of green liquid, he immediately drank the contents and hoped that the efficacy of the Vitality potion could work properly. He slightly regretted not asking Alalea to teach him healing magic.

But healing magic could not be done by just anyone, because thinking about Alalea he suddenly recalled the last incident that happened before they left the Fairy Forest, a very unexpected event.
