For A Husband Who Doesn't Love Me

For A Husband Who Doesn't Love Me
58. For Our Child

Maira opened the glass window curtain in Hidayat's inpatient room. This morning drizzle out there, making his heart feel even more congested. He remembered the rain a few months ago. In the morning, he whined that Hidayat would take a rain shower with him.

All sorts of ways she did to get pregnant soon, and one of them was a rain shower.

"Come, Brother... Just this once, pleaseee..."

"What if it turns out that my dear has not been pregnant, but instead became a fever? It's raining hard, honey..."

"We'll try, Bang... Maira has been horrified, he said that if we have not been given the same descent of God, then we try this way... Come, Brother... Just once, yeah..."

Long persuaded, finally Hidayat complied, and at the ends they ended up friendly in the room. Farming lovingly follows the instructions Maira hears.

Maira wiped her tears. She looked back at her husband who was still on the hospital bed. The flashback to their story ends when Maira's heart grows more poignant given the beautiful moment.

He slowly approached Hidayat. Sitting next to her husband, she clasped his hand.

"Abang, look... It's raining outside... You remember, right? We will usually laugh at it... Although sometimes Maira would like to repeat, but considering Maira's promise only once, Maira so dejected... But now, we don't need any more rain, Bang... Now Maira is pregnant with our child... We did it, brother, we did it..." Maira spoke with enthusiasm, but still her tears did not stop flowing from the edges of her eyes.

"Abang, it's been two weeks you didn't wake up... A lot of people came here... They all miss you... Students have also not counted membesuk Abang here. They can't wait for you to enter their class again..." Isaac Maira. He bowed languidly lamenting the unbearable sorrow in his heart.

"Allloooh..."

A slow groan from Hidayat's lips surprised Maira. She flinched for a moment, then looked quickly at her husband's face. Maira got up while closing her mouth which gaped at the sight of Hidayat's eyes slightly opened. Clear water flows thinly on the edge of Hidayat's eyes.

"A-branch... Is your brother conscious?" Maira smiled cheerfully while wiping her tears that came out.

"Mother...! Dad...! Mother...! Ayaaaah...!" Maira shouts her face to the door.

His parents and in-laws went inside. "Why, Mai?" Ask them in unison.

"Abangs... I'm sober, Dad, Mom..." Maira Sahut is excited.

The four old men ran towards the position where Hidayat was lying. They looked so happy to hear the fact that Hidayat had regained consciousness.

Maira clasped Hidayat's hand firmly, while there was little reply from her husband. Hidayat's eyes did not stop issuing warm, clear circles. He seemed to want to speak, but his voice never came out of his mouth.

"Abang, brother tell Maira what's sick... Brother don't make Maira worry like this..." Maira urged impatiently.

"Honey, patience, son... Your husband just regained consciousness..." Persuade Maira's mother to calm her down.

"But, Mum..."

From the door it appears the doctor came along with several nurses going into the position of Hidayat.

Maira sobbed bitterly at the sight of her helpless husband in pain. She let the doctor check on her husband, then rushed out of the room to let go of his tears. He leaned against the wall and sobbed there.

"Maira's..." Kirana and Arya come. They look worried because they find Maira crying beside the door of the nursery Hidayat.

"Sister Kiran..." Maira threw herself into Kirana's arms.

"What's going on, Mai? Hidayat's fine, right?" Arya asked in panic.

Maira did not answer. He only sobbed in Kirana's arms, making Arya's wife tighten her arms and rub Maira's shoulders gently.

"Silence, Mai..." Kirana tried to entertain.

Arya shifted her position closer towards the door. He raised his head to look at the situation inside, and how surprised he was when he saw Hidayat's eyes had opened.

"They're conscious, Mai?" He sounded so happy.

"really?" Ask Kirana.

Maira slowly stretched her body from Kirana's embrace. He nodded softly.

"Then, why is Maira sad?" Kirana looked at him confusedly.

"Yes, this should be good news, shouldn't it?" Arya.

"Yes, Bang... Maira was happy... Very, very happy... But, Bang Hidayat was silent... Brother did not return Maira's hand... Maira's scared, brother, Bang... Maira was afraid that Maira's husband would not recover as before..." Obviously Maira sniffled.

Arya's stunned. The thing Maira was afraid of hit her in her heart, making her feel the same fear.

"But, Brother..."

"Let's go inside... We have to be optimistic... And you, you shouldn't leave him in these moments..." Kirana assures Maira.

Arya nodded. "Yes, Mai... We all have to support Hidayat to recover quickly, especially you are his wife... Have you forgotten that you are pregnant now? Slowly, spread the good news to him... He will definitely be happy and eager to recover as quickly as usual..."

Maira was stunned looking at her still flat stomach.

"Come, Mai..." Take Kirana gently.

Maira nodded. He wiped his tears and smiled. "Thank you, Brother Kiran, Bang Arya... Maira's lucky to have you guys by Maira's side..."

"Together, Mai... We're like brothers..." Kirana answered with a nod of Aryan's head.

After hearing the doctor's explanation, all the family gave space for Maira to be able to freely chat with Hidayat who had just realized from his coma.

"Maira, why did you leave brother? Brother is a kangen..." Hidayat sounded lethargic.

"Kan Abang wants to be examined by a doctor, so Maira comes out... I don't know how scared Maira is..." Maira blinked her eyes many times so as not to cry in front of her husband.

"Sorry Brother, it has made Maira worried... I promise I won't repeat it again..." The Hidayat Pledge still looks weak.

"Eumm..." Nodding Maira was getting stronger withstanding her cries.

"Darling..."

Hearing Hidayat's call, Maira was no longer in charge. She was crying like a child.

"Darling, hey..." Call Hidayat to get up.

"Don't you, Brother just stay..." Prevent Maira in between her tears.

"No, I'm bored..." Reject Hidayat insisted on sitting down.

"No way, brother..."

"So the doctor said you can, honey..."

"Then let Maira help..." Maira said, then got up to help her husband to sit back.

"Thank you, honey..."

"Diamond..."

"Here, here..." Call Hidayat while patting his right side so that Maira sits there.

Maira complies, and Hidayat slowly pulls Maira's shoulder to lean his head against her shoulder.

"Abang knows Maira is anxious, but Alhamdulillah Abang will be fine now..." Speak soft Hidayat.

"Stay still..."

"Yes, yeah... Brother is sorry... In the future, I promise you will be more careful..."

"For the sake of our son?" Maira looked up at her husband's face.

"Yes..." Hidayat nodded. "Huh...?"

Maira lowered her head with a timid smile.
