Armed with information obtained from one of the nurses in the Bougenville ward-where Arumi worked, the woman set foot into Kayla's care room. He specifically came to visit his former best friend. Arumi wanted to see firsthand how the agony of the woman who had robbed him of all his happiness began.
Along the way down the hospital hallway to the inpatient room, Arumi took a deep breath while closing her eyes. He tried to dare himself so that one day when he met Kayla, the woman did not look weak in the slightest. The woman's heartbeat was irregular when footsteps stopped right in front of a VIP room.
Before entering the room, Arumi took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "You must be strong!"
Arumi's hand began to knock on the door, and Kayla's cry let someone out there into the room. The condition of the body is weak, making Kayla can only lie on the bed.
The door of the room was wide open, Arumi standing in the doorway with a gaze that was difficult to decipher. He froze in the net when he saw his former best friend lying weakly on a hospital bed.
"It seems that karma from God is starting to apply to you," cynical Arumi. The woman's footsteps brought the owner into the room that has complete facilities like a five-star hotel room.
Kayla who was resting, immediately turned to the source of the voice. He gasped for a moment when he saw the woman he had hurt standing haughty, smiling smirk with mocking eyes.
"You .... What are you doing here?" ask Kayla stammering. There was a hint of indescribable fear on the woman's face when she saw Arumi walking slowly towards the bed.
Step by step Arumi walked closer, then he stopped just on Kayla's left side. The woman scanned the body of her former best friend from the top of her hair to the tip of her foot. There is a sense of compassion in Arumi. After all, this woman before him was once part of Arumi's past life story. They had lived together for many years in joy and sorrow.
However, Arumi immediately brushed off the taste immediately. He again put on a cold face with sharp eyes.
"Me?" Arumi pointed at herself using her index finger. "What are you going to do here? Of course I want to see how God gives rebuke to a woman like you, Kay."
"I want to see with my own eyes and my own head how you are after the accident yesterday afternoon. Whether the accident yesterday afternoon has deterred you and no longer interfere with my life or even make you hate me even more and intend to avenge the loss of the child conceived by you." Arumi drew a sharp gaze towards Kayla to make Kayla shut up for a moment.
Kayla swore in her heart. 'Shit! If only I wasn't weak right now, I would have slapped that face and insulted him in front of everyone.'
The woman's emotions were already in the crown. His whole body feels hot. But he can't do anything. Kayla's body was really weak. If only he had a little strength, it would be like Kayla to reply to every word of her former best friend.
"Why are you silent? Usually you will reply to every word I say. You're already insyaf huh?" Arumi raised the corner of her lips upwards. "Good, if you're already insyaf. That means you have realized all your mistakes in the past. And, I'm just waiting for an apology from your lips."
"Don't dream!" sergeant Kayla fast. "At any time, I'll never apologize to you because I didn't do anything wrong."
Arumi rolled her eyes lazily. "I thought, after yesterday afternoon's accident you've turned into a better human being but my guess turned out to be wrong. You are still the same as before, stubborn, arrogant and your heart has been filled with hatred to the point of ingrained."
"It should have been an accident yesterday enough to make you aware of all the mistakes you've made on me, Kay. You should introspect yourself why God robs you of two very important things in your life simultaneously. Not even making you hate me more."
"Remember, Kay. God has given you a second chance. Use the opportunity as best we can because we don't know what will happen in the future."
"Enough!" peekik Kayla's. "Never hunt me down. I'm not a little kid anymore who can be advised if I make a mistake!"
"I am an adult and can determine what is good and not good. And you, have no right to give me advice because you are nobody to me! You're just my husband's old wife. A useless ex-wife who was unable to give offspring to Mas Mahesa."
"That means, forever you can never get pregnant again. So did I. I can't give you offspring because I'm no longer the wife of that son of a bitch. However, the difference is that I still have a chance of getting pregnant because my uterus is still inside here." Arumi stroked her flat stomach gently. It was as if inside there had been the future child of the man who had been a lover of the woman for a few days.
"Shut your mouth, Rumi!" jolt Kayla. "You better get out of here, before I ask the security guards to expel you for disturbing the patient's peace."
"Without you asking me to come out of this room because my business is done. I'm satisfied to see you suffer." Arumi turned her body, turning her back to Kayla. He stepped forward.
When he arrived at the doorway, he stopped his steps, turned his head to the right and said, "Hopefully, I hope, Aunt Naila and Om Putra did not force Mas Mahes to remarry after they knew you could no longer give offspring to the Adiguna family."
"I hope you don't feel the pain in my heart when you know that a husband who is so loved is making love to another woman in front of you."
Arumi's hand turned the door handle, she swung her foot out of Kayla's room. The woman's heart hurts, it really hurts.
Without feeling it, the woman's tears fell. The shoulders shook violently and the surrounding scenery turned blurry.
He touched the hospital wall. Walk slowly closer to the long chair along the hospital hallway.
"Why did all this have to happen? Why did the fraternal relationship I had with Kayla have to end tragically. Why, God?" Arumi's cry broke instantly as she had placed her crazy butt on the hospital's long chair.
"First, I thought we'd live happily. Growing up with my two best friends. We can smile happily together with each other's families and spend even old time together until death separates. However, it turns out that the dream is just a mere hope. At any time, that dream will never come true."
Sobs are heard again. The sound of crying was so heartbreaking. Arumi cried alone, pouring out her deepest heart.
"Are my goals too much? Until you don't grant me that wish?" arumi lirih.
"You don't deserve to cry for a woman like that. Your tears are too precious just for a bad woman like your ex-best friend." The heavy voice of a man paused for a moment Arumi's cry. Although unable to see the figure of the man standing beside her, but Arumi knew who it was.
Without hesitation, he immediately spread his head on the man's shoulder as the tall man sat down next to him.
"Don't cry anymore. I'm sure there will be wisdom behind all these trials." The man gently rubbed the top of Arumi's head. "What's important right now is that you need to be more vigilant because I'm sure, he won't give up just like that before seeing you completely destroyed."
"However, don't worry, I will always be around you. Never let Kayla or anyone harm you in the least. I promise to protect you, forever."
