Husband's Regret: Betrayed for Not Getting Pregnant

Husband's Regret: Betrayed for Not Getting Pregnant
I'm sorry, My wife

During the hospital stay, neither Rayyan nor Raihan, neither of them had rushed Lena to the hospital. The two young men seemed to close their eyes and ears about the bad news that had befallen Lena. Until the last day of his hospital stay, the two sisters still did not reveal their noses even though Firdaus had sent them a short message.

"Ma, from today on we no longer live in Mei Ling's house. Two days ago, I met with Rayyan and decided to return her late mother's inheritance home to my son. All Raihan said, made me feel slapped and now I realize we have no right to live in that house even though Mei Ling asked before."

Lena who sat beside her husband, let out a long sigh. Recall every sentence spoken by your beloved child. The fateful incident that left the woman paralyzed 'tuk forever.

"Then, how did Rayyan react, Pa? Is he angry because we're just now giving back what the child is entitled to?" Glanced at her husband with a question mark. He believes, every time he meets Rayyan, there will be a little drama that adorns when the pair of father and son meet and discuss personal affairs.

Take a deep breath, then exhale slowly. "Our meeting spiced up tension like watching a killer movie*n. Rayyan, behave as usual whenever we discuss personal matters. However, after Papa gave his understanding he was finally willing to accept Mei Ling's legacy."

"Including the room key that was once occupied by Mbak Mei Ling?"

Firdaus nodded his head in response. "really. The key to the late Mei Ling's room Papa handed it back to Rayyan. Papa also handed over the entire legacy of Mei Ling to the child. And ... Papa also gave freedom to him if you want to do a home renovation. As if he wanted to erase the bad memories in the house with a new leaf with his wife and children, Papa raised his hand. Let him decide for himself what he wants."

"I've prepared an apartment for us to live in together. It is not too big when compared to Mei Ling's heritage house, but it is quite comfortable and worth living in. Mbok Darmi is already there, preparing all the needs of both of us," said Firdaus.

"But .. I only brought clothes as well as some items like reading books to fill my free time after retiring from work. The rest, I live in that house."

The woman sitting next to Firdaus smiled faintly. "It's okay. In the beginning, we had no possessions before. So, when we leave the house we do not need to bring a lot of goods to be moved to a new residence."

The car driven by Mang Ujang just entered the parking lot of an apartment building in West Jakarta. After the four-wheeled vehicle was parked neatly in the basement, the two middle-aged men carrying Lena's body sat on a wheelchair.

"At noon, there will be a nurse who will help me and Mbok Darmi will take care of you. I asked him to take care of you in the morning and evening. For the night, let me take care of you" Firdaus said, pushing his wife's wheelchair.

Lena smiled sweetly towards Firdaus. "Pa, thank you for bothering to hire a nurse to take care of me."

Firdaus returned Lena's smile. "Don't hesitate. It has become my duty as a husband. You need the presence of a nurse, even if there's me and Mbok Darmi still need medical personnel to monitor your health development."

The apartment was equipped with all kinds of household furniture including television, television, and a washing machine so that the occupants just carry clothes and can immediately stay there without dizzy thinking about buying what furniture to put in every corner of the room.

"Welcome to the apartment, Miss Lena. I'm happy, I've been allowed to go home by the Doctor" said Mbok Darmi. The middle-aged woman became the only domestic assistant Firdaus invited to move into the apartment. While one more person remained on guard at Mei Ling's relic house.

"Thank you for your welcome, Mbok. I am also happy to be allowed to go home by the doctor. Although now my circumstances are different, but at least God still gives the opportunity to continue to improve to get closer to Him."

Not wanting Lena to be sad again, given the events of the past few days, Firdaus interrupted the conversation of the two middle-aged women. "We'd better go inside. You must be tired after a long trip." Lena did not protest much as Firdaus' hand pushed her wheelchair.

Upon arrival in the room, Firdaus assisted by Ujang mang back to carry Lena's body from a wheelchair and lay it on a king-size bed. The main room occupied by both parents is quite spacious, 6×6 m2. There is a large window facing directly outside and a soft sofa in the corner of the room so that the owner of the room can enjoy the view from the seventh floor of the apartment building.

After making sure Lena was comfortable lying on the bed, Firdaus pulled the blanket to cover the lower part of his wife's body. "You rest first yeah, I'll go to the bathroom clean up. After that, just accompany you to sleep." Get up slowly, towards the bathroom.

A cold shower flushed Firdaus' body. He closed his eyes, again the fateful incident that befell Lena and a shadow of Mei Ling's face again flashed in his mind. Feeling guilty for sacrificing many people for his selfishness all along. Had he opened his heart to Mei Ling a little, maybe none of this would have happened. His household with a woman of Chinese descent will end happily if he can accept Rayyan's biological mother to be his wife.

"I'm sorry, Mei Ling. I should have learned to love you, to accept your presence as my wife. Not even ignoring you and falling in love with a foreign woman I helped from the pursuit of her ex-husband. I was a fool, Mei, for not being able to see the magnitude of the love you gave me. In fact, you've done your duty as a good wife."

"Now, I have received a reply due to my past mistakes. I'm sorry, Mei. Forgive your stupid husband!"

Firdaus was still in his standing position at the moment. When he was about to reach for the towel in the towel hanger, suddenly something hit the floor was clearly heard in his sense of hearing.
