Husband's Regret: Betrayed for Not Getting Pregnant

Husband's Regret: Betrayed for Not Getting Pregnant
Hope Dupus

Sunlight slipped in through the cracks of the window, touching Kayla's face. After the operation, the twenty-five-year-old woman slept until she barely woke up from her long sleep. Either because of the influence of drugs or indeed he was too comfortable coiled under the hospital blanket to make Kayla reluctant to open her eyelids.

When the moonlight had been replaced by sunlight, Kayla had just regained consciousness. Slowly, the woman blinked her eyes several times. As his eyelids opened perfectly, he scanned the contents of the room. That place was so foreign to Kayla.

The woman was about to rise from sleep but her whole body was in pain especially in the abdomen. He accidentally touched the scar to make Kayla grimace in pain.

"Aw!" kayla lirih. Resist pain that travels throughout the body.

From a distance of about a meter, he saw a woman sleeping on a long sofa in the treatment room. Although the woman's face is not very clear because it faces toward the back of the sofa but Kayla is sure that it is Mona-assistantnya.

"Mona ..." said Kayla Lirih. As much as he could, he used his remaining ability to summon his assistant. The first attempt failed and the woman tried to call Mona for a second time.

Feeling that someone called her name even though it sounded soft but Mona could clearly hear the call. He got up from the couch and walked over to Kayla.

"Kayla .. thank goodness you've come to your senses." The hue of happiness is painted on Mona's face. The woman's eyes glowed happily. "You're making me anxious because you've been unconscious for most of the day."

"You know how long you've been asleep in this bed?" The woman pulled up the round chair by the side of the bed, then sat down slowly. Kayla shook her head weakly in response.

"About twenty hours." Mona emphasized every sentence spoken on the woman's lips. "You've almost resembled a koala for sleeping for almost twenty-two hours."

Kayla rolled her eyes lazily. Hearing the bullshit spoken from Mona's lips made her careless. Although the condition of the body was weak but the woman still had the energy to scold someone.

"Don't equate me with that animal! Obviously I'm prettier and more perfect than her!" grunts Kayla annoyed. He did not accept if equated by marsupial animals typical of Australia.

Then, the female netra accidentally saw an infusion hose stuck on the back of the hand. Suddenly the events of yesterday afternoon flashed through Kayla's mind. When he hit a woman was having a warm conversation with her beloved husband until the seconds before the fateful accident happened to him were recorded clearly in the memory of the woman.

"Mona, tell me what happened after the accident yesterday afternoon?" kayla asked curiously because after the accident, she was unconscious.

"Mona! Tell me, what happened to me? Why did it feel like my whole body was hurting and my stomach-" Kayla's words stopped in midair. He took the blankets and the hospital clothes he wore. The woman's eyes widened when she saw a wound covered in gauze on Kayla's stomach.

"Why is there a wound in my stomach, Mona?" ask the woman stammering. The woman's hand rubbed the part of the stomach that was not affected by the bandage. "Did something happen to my womb?" The woman's face turned cloudy. He held something in his eyes so that nothing would fall on his cheeks.

Mona took a deep breath. The woman realized there would be a time when Kayla asked about the condition of the baby in her womb. He had prepared mentally and neatly arranged sentences to be conveyed to his friend.

Mona's fingers gently touched Kayla's arm. Again and again, he took a deep breath before finally uttering the sentence he had prepared before his friend realized from the influence of drugs.

"As a result of a very hard impact causes your womb can not be saved. You had such severe bleeding that the doctor decided to have surgery to save your life. Not only that, the doctor was forced to do hysterectomy surgery or removal of the uterus because your uterus has been damaged."

"That means I'll never be able to get pregnant again?" asked Kayla doubtfully. Mona nodded her head in response.

Mona's voice was like the roar of lightning in broad daylight. So surprised Kayla to make the woman's body more limp. He felt the earth on its foot no longer turning. The whole world collapsed hitting the body and burying the woman alive.

"No .. This can't happen to me." The woman shook her head in disbelief at what Mona said. "Tell me, Mona, if you're lying."

"No, Kay. I'm not lying" said Mona.

Tears have fallen down my cheeks. Slowly, Kayla felt her stomach still flat. Just yesterday he checked the womb and the doctor said that the prospective child was in good condition. But today, he lost the child forever.

"I don't want to lose my baby, Mon. He's my only hope to have a full Mas Mahesa. She can't leave me" said Kayla, with a sobbing sound that slashed her heart.

"Why did you allow the doctor to take away my baby's life and lift my womb! Why?" kayla shouted sobbing.

"Patience, Kay. Let's just say this is a rebuke from God for all the wrongs you've done to Arumi." Mona hugs Kayla who cries a sigh after hearing something that could destroy her hope of becoming a full-fledged woman.

Hearing the name of the woman that Kayla hated so much, the woman's emotions grew even more. He pushed Mona's body almost to the point of falling. Luckily the woman's hand immediately held the wall that was behind the body.

"Never say the name of Ja*ang in front of me again, Mon! I've hated that woman all my life!" kayla shouted hysterically.

"Kayla, relax." Mona stepped foot to the bed. Although Kayla had pushed him but he could not bear to see the woman who had been considered his family lamenting his fate alone. After all, he and Kayla have lived many of these twists and turns of life together. They woke up together until they were at the point of success like today.

"Why has God never been fair to me? Why, Mon?" ask Kayla lirih. Now, the woman's body is in Mona's arms. He was crying in the arms of the assistant.

"Since childhood I have suffered. No one loves me. My mom and dad went nowhere. They just dumped me like a bunch of trash that wasn't expected to exist."

"I have just tasted the sweetness of happiness but now He has taken it back."

Mona tightened her embrace, then rubbed Kayla's back gently. "That's it, don't be sad anymore. I'm sure, Mas Mahesa will always love you even if you can't give her offspring. You can still be happy even without the presence of a child in the middle of your marriage."

Kayla breaks down the hug. Staring at Mona's brown bead with clingy. There were still clearly tears streaming down the woman's cheeks.

"Are you sure of what you said, Mon? Is it true that Mas Mahesa still loves me even though I can no longer give her children?"

Mona's hand stretched forward. The woman wiped Kayla's tears using a tissue she took from the bedside.

"certain. I'm pretty sure your husband loves you very much, Kay. Didn't you say that he loves you more than anything?"

Kayla tightens. The room was silent for a moment. Before the fateful plight befell him and Mahesa, Kayla was so sure that the love in her husband's heart was so great to her. However, the incident yesterday afternoon made the woman's mind open if Arumi's position was still right above her.

Imagining the moments before the accident happened, made Kayla ignited emotions. Next to the woman's hand clenched at the side, the jaw hardened and the roar of irregular breaths.

'It's all because of that woman. If only Mas Mahesa no longer loved Arumi, maybe my baby is still in the stomach and I can live happily with my little family without a shadow of the woman's past.'

'I swear I will make your life suffer for Arumi. For the sake of my dead baby. I won't let you live happily above my suffering.'

"Yes, you better rest again. I'll call the doctor to check on you." Mona got rid of Kayla's hair that covered her face. Then pull the blanket up to cover the chest.
