The Chapter 110

As Winter takes Leathina away from the mansion Leathina occasionally looks towards the mansion wanting to ascertain if all her friends will be fine after her departure or vice versa. It was clearly visible on Leathina's face that Leathina was riled up.

“Leathina?” Winter also occasionally noticed Leathina who looked riled up.

“Even though I managed to find her and bring her back safely, Leathina did not seem to feel relieved nor feel safe with me. Instead Leathina looks terrified.”

Winter continues to watch Leathina's – growls and fears until she realizes some things that Leathina has her own fears, not because of being kidnapped or threatened but because Leathina was afraid to return to her family.

“There is no place for you, Leathina.” Winter spoke suddenly and made Leathina surprised.

Hearing Winter's words made Leathina know that Winter had been watching her, quickly Leathina turned her face away and stopped looking back.

“So, you know?” Leathina then responded to Winter's words, her eyes blankly staring towards the front not daring to see how Winter's expression was now.

“Since when did you find out that I was with them Winter?” Leathina asked later on Winter.

“Then I saw you riding a horse with the man who threatened me earlier.” Winter refocused on riding his horse back to the border town.

“You'll report me?”

“What makes you feel comfortable with them Leathina? Why do you feel safe with strangers like them? You know for months I was looking for you, in that time I was tormented by fear that later I would only find your body or I could not find you at all.”

Leathina rounded her eyes in shock at Winter's words that she could not understand.

“It would be better if I never found Winter and don't torture yourself just because of someone like me.” Leathina answered Winter's words flatly and still did not dare to see how Winter's expression was now.

“I know you're afraid to go back to your family Leathina.”

“You know it's Winter, too, so why are you still looking for me would be easier for you if you were to report to Duke that I'm gone and stop your search.”

“Leathina, how can you talk about your death with such a flat expression and I keep looking for you because I want to find you not because of an order from uncle Leonard.”

“I don't know what you mean Winter, though, but if you've been all this time you know how much I've been suffering in that family why don't you just close your eyes and pretend not to see me now and let me stay here the way I've been you do, don't you keep ignoring me.”

“I can't, I can't stand to see you stay with people like them Leathina.”

“What do people like them look like in your eyes Winter? In my eyes people like them are good people at least they defend me even though they don't know me.”

Hearing Leathina's words made Winter's heart feel sad because it was during this time he continued to pretend not to know anything and did not want to interfere in Leathina's affairs, Winter recalls the incident some time ago where that night Leathina was accused of standing and seeing nothing but calm Duke Leonard's anger.

“I'm sorry Leathina.” Winter muttered softly but could still be heard by Leathina.

Leathina hears Winter's mumble apologizing to her but Leathina chooses to pretend not to hear Winter's apology because she doesn't know what Winter's really apologizing for to her.

“There was no more conversation between the two and without them knowing they had both reached the border city and were welcomed by the soldiers who had come to besiege the old mansion.

“Mr Winter!” The soldiers greeted their leader when they saw him coming.

“You succeeded!

“Mr Winter has returned to bring Miss Leathina.”

They all eagerly welcome Winter and Leathina to return safely.

One of the soldiers immediately greeted Leathina and extended her hand to help her get off the horse but Winter did not let her subordinate hold Leathina's hand and chose to carry Leathina down from the horse.

“Winter I can go down by myself.” Leathina said in shock at Winter's behavior.

“The wounds that are on your neck will open if you jump down, Leathina.”

“What's wrong with you Winter? You were not like this before.” Leathina felt strange at the attention Winter gave her.

“I will continue like this in the future Leathina. So get used to yourself.”

“Before Winter wasn't like this, she would always be as polite to me as calling me Miss but why now she's turning into a little aggressive and protective, did I misunderstand?”

“Leathina, you daydream. Does the wound on your neck hurt?”

“Oh, my goodness am I daydreaming? Looks like you're wrong I'm not daydreaming.” Leathina becomes a little awkward with Winter's current behavior.

“Bring a doctor or a person who can use healing magic, Leathina is injured she must be treated immediately and bring a woman's clothes to Leathina.” Winter gives orders to his subordinates then a soldier immediately leaves to search for the one who can treat Leathina.

“Mr Winter, when do we return?”  Lard asked Winter after taking Leathina into the inn room they had been staying in during their time in the border town.

“We will return after Leathina is treated, tell all members to prepare and pack your things immediately, prepare also the train for Leathina.”

‘Good Mr.” Lard then immediately went to do as Winter ordered.

"I must also send word to Uncle Leonard that I have found Leathina and will soon bring her back to the kingdom, if they knew they would prepare Leathina's welcome well for Leathina to feel safe returning to her family."

After sending a short letter using a pigeon mail carrier to Duke Leonard Yarnell, Winter immediately returned to the inn to check on Leathina's condition.

“How is Tuan?” Winter asked the doctor who had finished treating Leathina's wounds.

While sitting in the inn room Leathina used to see a doctor had finished treating the wound on Leathina's neck and wrapped it around her with a bandage.

“Your wife is fine sir, fortunately the wound is not too deep to not hit her veins.” The doctor spoke while tidying up his belongings and would be back soon.

“Eh your doctor misunderstood we are not a married couple.”.

“Thank God that my wife is fine, Doctor thank you for treating her.”

Hearing the doctors who treated her misunderstand their relationship made Leathina feel uncomfortable with the name of wife or husband, Leathina finally tried to correct the doctor's misunderstanding but she had not yet explained Winter had cut her words and immediately drove the doctor who treated her out.

Shortly after Winter leaves to escort the doctor home, Winter returns to Leathina's room to check on Leathina's current situation.

“How are you doing Leathina is anyone still injured or sick?” winter asked Leathina while sitting next to Leathina and watching Leathina's wrapped neck.

“I'm fine Winter, but why did you cut my words trying to clear up the doctor's misunderstanding?” Leathina asked Winter with an annoyed expression.

“Why in just a few months did your nature change Winter?” Leathina still did not understand Winter's treatment and words.

“What do you mean Leathina? Ah, maybe because I've lost my mind because I keep looking for you.” Winter answers Leathina's question again with a strange answer that Leathina cannot understand.

“We will soon return to the kingdom, will you be fine to travel with this wounded state Leathina?”

“I'll be fine.”

“Alright, everyone has prepared we will be back soon now.”

Winter led Leathina out of the inn they were staying in and then stopped in front of a horse carriage parked right at the door of the inn and greeted the two of them.

“Leathina ride.” Winter allowed Leathina to ride on the horse carriage in front of her.

“Where did you take this horse carriage Winter? You should not make it difficult to find me a horse carriage like this, you simply provide a horse for me I can return by riding a horse like any other.”

“What do you mean Leathina? Of course you have to use a horse carriage, you are injured and your wounds will be open if you ride a horse all day to the kingdom.”

Inevitably, Leathina was forced to follow Winter's words and enter the horse-drawn carriage they had prepared for her. While Winter himself returned to the kingdom on horseback and always walked around the horse-drawn carriage that Leathina used to guard. 

After Leathina got into the horse carriage they all ended up traveling back to the kingdom.

A guard who was in charge of receiving and sending messages found a dove that was sending messages from the border region.

Guards picked up small paper rolls tied to the feet of the message-sending bird and the scrolls were tied with red ribbons of sign that the message the bird was delivering was important news that must be immediately in place read Duke Leonard Yarnell.

Quickly the guard asked his friend to take his place guarding the post and then immediately went to Duke Leonard's office to deliver the scroll of messages he had just received.

“What Duke is inside?” Ask the postman to the guard on duty at the Duke's doorstep.

“Duke is inside, but is talking to a guest.”

“Please let us know that there is important news that has just arrived from the border region.”

“But.” The guard in charge of guarding the door hesitated for fear of interrupting the Duke's meeting with his guests but upon seeing the paper scroll tied with a red ribbon he immediately entered to report to the Duke.

“Excuse me Mr. Duke.”

“Didn't you see that I was with my guest.”

“I'm sorry Mr. Duke.” The doorman apologized then walked up to Duke Leonard and told Duke in a whisper not to be heard by his guest.

“Mr Duke, there is a letter with a red ribbon that Mr Winter sent from the border region.” Whisper the guard to Duke Leonard.

Duke Leonard is shocked he then begins to wonder what news Winter sent from the border with red ribbon ties.

“What Winter didn't find Leathina there, or Winter's jags only found Leathina's body. Jeez what should I do if what I fear really happens.”

Duke Leonard immediately brushed off the fearful thoughts from his head after trying to think positively again.

“I'm sorry sir it seems our meeting is sufficient until here only.” Duke Leonard politely ended his meeting with his guest.

“Bring here the mail!” Duke Leonard orders after his guest leaves his room.

A guard then walked in and gave a scroll containing a letter Winter had sent from the border town.

After receiving a letter sent by Winter from the guard, Duke Leonard ordered the guard to return to Duke Leonard, who was in his own room, his trembling hand slowly opened the ribbon that bound him and began to read it.

Greetings Uncle Leonard, after months of searching for Miss Leathina I finally managed to find her in the border town. During this time Miss Leathina was held hostage by the kidnappers who wanted a ransom, they neatly managed to hide Miss Leathina until we had trouble finding her.

I managed to find Miss Leathina and if Uncle Leonard had read this letter by now we might have been on our way back to the kingdom. But unfortunately Miss Leathina was injured, please provide a doctor from the kingdom for her and if we come welcome Miss Leathina well because it seems like Miss Leathina is afraid to return because of the events that happened to her on the closing night of the king's birthday festival.

After finishing reading the letter sent by Winter, Duke Leonard seemed to lose all his strength and fell in his chair. His memory returns on the closing night of the King's birthday festival, where he distrusts and does not let Leathina give an explanation when she even slaps Leathina with her own hands.

“Oh, God, now how can I welcome Leathina home. I can't even think about how I appear before him later, what I've actually been doing.”

The sound of the door to Duke Leonard's office that was opened forcibly shocked Duke Leonard who was still pensive in his own room.

“AYAH!”

Shouted Nora after forcibly opening the door and then followed by Nicholas behind her.

“Nora? Nicholas?”

“I heard from the guard that Winter sent me a letter with red ribbon ties on her letter rolls, is everything okay dad?” Nicholas soon enters his father's office and walks up to his father at his desk hoping everything is okay.

“This read, Nicholas contact the kingdom and have them immediately send a doctor to the residence Yarnell.”

“Daddy what Winter said in this letter is true?” Nicholas received a paper from Duke Leonard and began to read it.

After reading the entire contents of Nicholas's eye-letter round because he did not believe what he read the same also applies to Nora who read the letter after Nicholas.

“Dad, then excuse me. I will contact the kingdom immediately to send a doctor to our residence.” Nicholas asked his father for permission, then hurriedly left Duke Leonard's office.
