The five of them continued to race their horses as fast as they could until they finally reached a mountain slope that they had to cross as the last part of their journey to reach the eastern forest.

Damian immediately observed the surroundings he jumped down from his horse and lowered his head to bring the slope and while on the edge of the slope felt a very strong wind coming down on him.

“Danger,” he said telling others “The path is too small and steep and the wind is very strong is very dangerous if we continue our journey now.” Damian spoke as he watched the steep road they were about to cross.

“True Damian said, the sun is also soon to set will be even more dangerous if we continue the journey in the darkness of the night.” Said Zeyden who also commented after seeing the situation is indeed dangerous.

“Then we will rest here for the night,” Duke Leonard considered Damian's opinion after seeing the truly quite dangerous circumstances if they still insist on continuing the journey.

Eventually duke Leonard decided to rest and wait for the strong wind to stop. They found a small cave not far from where they stopped, they chose to use the cave as a resting place for the five of them.

“I will return to the forest hunting animals for dinner later.” Edward stood up and volunteered to go hunting to find their food tonight, he did not use his horse and chose to go on foot to be younger to hunt.

“Then I will also go to look for firewood as our warmers because it will soon be raining so before the wood gets wet I will pick it up first,” Damian also finally went looking for firewood around the cave to be used as their bonfire later.

“Aelfric you also go looking for firewood with Damian,” Zeyden asked Aelfric to come with Damian looking for firewood and forced Aelfric immediately ran after Damian who was now a little far in front of him.

“I'll also go check the ambient condition while looking for firewood.” Zeyden also left the cave, leaving only Duke Leonard alone to guard their belongings and horses.

Duke Leonard let out a long sigh then realized that they would have a hard time not having water to drink later when the others had returned, realizing this, Duke Leonard immediately took the bamboo bottle he made while on the way and he also took the other bamboo bottles to fill with water.

With a casual step duke Leonard came out of the cave to find the nearest water source from where they were staying. After walking for almost ten minutes he saw a small river from a distance and immediately walked towards it to fetch water and carefully the duke began to fill the water on the bottles one by one until all full he soon returned to the cave worried about their belongings and horses which he left alone.

Edward walked out of the cave where they rested and because he had not found any signs of animals that he could hunt for dinner he chose to walk further and further into the forest.

“Srak”

Suddenly a deer ran out in the opposite direction to Edward and Edward quickly took the opportunity and threw a dagger at the running deer.

Edward's dagger hit the back leg of the deer until it managed to make the deer fall and no longer able to walk. But, just as Edward was about to pick it up a horde of rabbits also suddenly ran out of the forest opposite to him.

Edward did not care much about the rabbits that ran past him, according to him the deer that he had managed to hunt was enough for the five of them so he let the rabbits and chose not to disturb him.

“Why are all animals running out of the forest?” edward asked when it turned out that not only deer or rabbits were running out of the forest but birds and other small animals were flying out of the forest. “Perhaps this is due to the goblin troupe that colonized their land.” His murmur then without thinking again immediately tied the deer that had now died out a lot of blood and after that he immediately brought it back to their resting place.

“Oh, you turned out to be following me Aelfric,” Damian asked cheerfully when it turned out that Aelfric also followed him to go look for firewood.

“I didn't follow you because I wanted to, I left because I was told by Zeyden to help you find firewood,” Aelfric denied Damian's words.

“Alright, all right, I know, let's bring home a lot of firewood so that tonight we can sleep without cold because soon it looks like it will rain wide, so it will be,” Damian just smiled then immediately quickened his footsteps to look for firewood.

The two of them began to focus on their work and looked down at the wooden branches one by one.

“What's Aelfric?” Damian asked as Aelfric suddenly fell silent and looked worried while observing his surroundings.

“There is something that goes in this direction.” Answer while focusing on looking at the first point.

“No need, Edward now must have caught something for us to eat later for now we just need to find firewood alone.”

they waited for the rabbit troupes to pass first after that then they returned to look for firewood.

“But don't you feel weird seeing those rabbits running past us just like that?” Damian asked again while picking up dry branches.

“That happened probably because the goblin troupe had taken control of their house and inevitably the little rabbits had to flee to protect themselves,” Reply Aelfric who is also focusing on picking up dry branches.

“Means it is the law of nature yes, where the strong are the ones who are able to survive.”

“Think of it like that, let's go back Damian. It seems we have picked up a lot of firewood.”

Damian nodded then immediately whipped Aelfric who walked first to return to the cave.

The two of them walked in a hurry to quickly return to the cave because the sky looked darker and occasionally heard sounds and flashes of lightning that struck many times.

“Come fast,” exclaims Damian when seeing their cave from a distance.

The two of them further accelerated their footsteps to arrive immediately but suddenly came to a halt while looking towards where the two of them tied their horses.

The two of them dropped the wooden twigs they had been holding tightly together, they both looked at each other in confusion at the terrible situation that had happened to their horses.

“Why do you put firewood outside the cave like that, take back the wood and put it in the cave so as not to get wet in the rain,” zeyden who finally arrived to see Damian and Aelfric just standing in front of the cave and the branches they had picked up scattered on their legs.

“What's up ..?” after approaching Zeyden also lined up with the two and saw in which direction Aelfric and Damian's gaze was fixed on how shocked Zeyden was when he saw the state of their dead horses.

“What is this? Why are you standing outside like a fool” asked Edward who also came shortly after Zeyden came.

“What the hell is this?!” he asked when he was surprised to see the condition of their horses.

His blood was strewn everywhere, there were no incisions or sharp slashes and only sharp claw marks and bite marks were visible.

“This is not a human act,” said Edward who eventually regained consciousness and began to observe the surrounding to find out what really happened.

“What's up?” duke Leonar asked the last to arrive and saw the four people who were with him standing outside the cave and seriously observing something.

“Duke?” call the four of them almost at the same time when you see Duke Leonard's voice.

“Gosh, what happened during my go fetch water,” he said in disbelief when he saw the same thing as what the others saw.

“We don't know, when we both came to it it was like that.” Aelfric and Damian answered slowly, for they both arrived first.

The duke immediately checked their belongings which he had stored in the cave and found nothing strange other than their horses dying horribly.

“It's a good thing that your belongings are not disturbed,” Duke Leonard then keeps the water bottles in the cave.

“Aelfric, Damian, you two take back the scattered branches of wood and store them in the cave. Edward bring here your quarry and zeyden please light a fire to cook it.”

“Good,” Answer them almost simultaneously.

“Duke, do we not need to bury the corpses of those horses?” asked Zeyden who looked uncomfortable looking at the messy corpse of the horse.

“No need you guys fast just do what you need to do.”

“Where do you want?” Edward asked as Duke Leonard was about to come back out of the cave after storing the drinking water he was carrying.

“I want to check directly those horse carcasses,”

“I'll also come with you Duke,”

“Good.”

“it looks like his stoog will just go to the cave but it stops when Aelfric and Damian come then immediately escape.” Edward saw a rare bloodied leg that was about to walk towards the cave but suddenly stopped then turned around and ran away as soon as he heard someone coming.

“That's right Edward, look at.” Duke Leonard pointed at the human footprints mixed with the footprints of the surrounding beasts.

“The culprit is a flock of werewolves, werewolves!” Edward was able to quickly grasp the intent of Duke Leonard when pointing at the footprints Duke Leonard had shown him.

“Are we going to hunt him?” Edward asked Duke Leonard.

“No need, it will spend a lot of energy should save your energy because from tomorrow we will continue the journey on foot, let's help me bury the carcasses of this poor horse.”

The two immediately dug a hole and after digging deep enough duke Leonard and Edward began to put their horse carcasses into the hole and began to hoard them back to cover the carcass so as not to smell.

After the completion of the duke Leonard returned to the river with Edward to wash their dirty bodies while digging the ground and exposed to horse carcasses.

Samar-sama heard a voice from the direction of the bushes not far from where the two of them were cleaning themselves.

“Duke, you heard it too?” Edward asked cautiously and began to sharpen his hearing.

Duke Leonard nodded then answered Edward's question and was immediately on guard.

Edward quickly threw his dagger towards the bushes with a shriek followed by a long howl afterwards.

“Wolf man, careful Edward sharp looker at night,” Duke Leonard immediately commemorates Edward who quickly ran behind the bushes and pulled his sword from the sheath.

“A separate wolf from her pack?” Edward looked behind the bushes and saw a wolf who was now groaning in pain because his leg was injured by a dagger that had been thrown by Edward.

“Heik,” The wolf was suffocated in pain when Edward pulled out his dagger carelessly and held the back of his neck and then held the wolf to show Duke Leonard.

“That's him and take him to the cave,” said duke Leonard commanding Edward after a close look at the wolf that Edward showed him, Edward obeyed Duke's words and tied the wolf's legs and led him with him to the cave.

“Why were you guys so long?” aelfric exclaimed as he looked at Duke Leonard and Edward now walking back to the cave.

“You are quick to come here and join us, the meat of the deer is almost ripe,” Zeyden immediately asked Duke Leonard and Edward to speed up their footsteps in order to both enjoy a mature dinner.

“Wah, you guys brought a game again,” Damian said glad to see Edward holding something in his hand.

“This, why did you bring this so-called animal here ..?” aelfric asked when he noticed something about the wolf Edward was carrying.

“What's up?” ask Damian in confusion.

“Don't the one who killed our horses be this animal you brought, Edward?” zeyden asked curiously after seeing that Edward and Duke Leonard were either werewolves or werewolves.

“Heh? What the hell are you guys talking about, isn't he just an ordinary wolf?” damian asked in confusion because he did not understand what Zeyden and Aelfric were talking about.

“This is a werewolf,” Aelfric replied telling Damian.

“How do you distinguish it from a common wolf? Anyhow I see it this animal just looks like a wolf can.” Damian asked Aelfric again because he still could not find the difference Aelfric said.

“Look at his eyes, the common wolf had black or gray eye color but this wolf brought by Edward had red eyes,” Aelfric explained to Damian while pointing towards the wolf eyes that Edward was carrying.
