The Chapter 220

After leaving the inn and leaving his group without telling him what he was going for and where he was going Edward walked back to the main road and mingled with other road users.

Edward walked towards the town square and then stayed by the side of the road waiting for someone to observe the surroundings checking and keeping watch if someone might be following him, not long after that a woman quietly came to him then without greeting each other the two immediately went hand in hand to a tavern located near the town square.

“One warm tea and ...” his speech came to a halt while looking at Edward who had just sat in front of him.

“What's.” Edward replied briefly, no matter what the woman who was sitting there was talking to the waiter in front of her

“Alright, two glasses of warm tea.” His words were friendly, the waiter who approached him then nodded in understanding and immediately went back.

“How?” Ask Edward straight to the point.

“Well, this is a letter sent from the residence of duke Leonard specifically for your master as his spy and another special letter to the head of the shadowy assassin army.” He said as he took out two letters and placed them in front of Edward.

Edward immediately snatched the two letters that were in front of him, he watched the letter for a moment at close range to check if there was anything outside of it but he did not find anything strange from the two letters.

“Good my duty as a mail courier is done, I must return to the kingdom immediately now, Sir. You should know that I am having a lot of difficulties because I have to get to this remote place in a fast time.”  His words mince words to Edward but Edward's views only focus on the two letters he had given.

Without regard to his interlocutor again Edward opened one of the letters the duke sent to the shadow army chief then read them line by line until the letter was read out. “What's wrong with Leathina? Say!” edward snapped, who could now guess that something bad had happened.

“Someone kidnapped Miss Leathina while I was off guard.” He told Edward.

“Sial!” umpiring emotions, “Where was the last time you were together?” the question became more panicked.

“Disana, and the time of the disappearance has not been long Sir, they are still not far if we pursue it now then we will be able to find Miss Leathina back.” Adam was optimistic and soon returned to search.

“Are you sure she was kidnapped? Not running away like last time?” edward asked hesitantly with Leathina who suddenly disappeared just like that.

Duke Leonard was still in his study can be guessed that he had been sitting for hours in front of a pile of documents he had to do, his face was lethargic and there were dark circles around his eyes.

After delivering the letter the maid directly came out leaving the duke and instantly closed the door back.

Duke who already knows who sent him the letter even though the letter in his hand now does not have the name of the sender or where it came from quickly opened and read it.

 “Ah! it's a letter from the shadow army.” He then focused on reading the letter he received.

The duke was stunned his gaze was blank and his mind was fixed on Leathina, trying to recall and find out what a possibility that could cause Leathina not to want to return to the kingdom.

Duke rubbed rough his face unable to find any show.

“I ...” muttered as he looked back at the contents of the letter Prince Edward sent for him. “ Really know nothing about Leathina.” He said softly and crumpled up the letter he had read.

After a long pensive lamenting all his mistakes during this time against Leathina, Duke then rushed to keep all the letters that he had read after it neatly stored the important documents he had completed and then rushed out of his office after being confined there for hours length of time.

“Duke?”

Adrian secretary Duke Leonard passed in front of the door in his hand was a pile of new files that Duke Leonard had to work on.

“Ah! Adrian, just put it on my desk I'll finish it later.” Duke Leonard then went on his way.

“But Duke?!” adrian exclaimed but the Duke had already left him, because there was no other choice he finally did what the Duke asked he put the documents he carried on the duke's desk then organized other documents that had been completed and also worked on the other. “Bari this time his view is not firm and instead looks cute, hopefully he is fine.” Adrian muttered and went back to his job.

The duke walked in a bit of haste then ended up in front of Leathina's room, after entering the duke again stunned only then he realized that in Leathina's room there was nothing that meant even very empty.

Anne nodded softly as she continued to glance at the cupboard whose door was slightly open, “Iya, Mr.” The answer then slowly walked towards the Wardrobe trying to make Duke Leonard unaware of his movements and immediately closed the closet door.

“Anne?”

“Ah! Yes Sir?!” anne replied spontaneously in surprise after closing the closet.

“It seems like many of Leathina's dresses are missing, although I don't know for sure but I'm sure with certainty that the dresses aren't just that many. Where do all Leathina's dresses go?” her question made Anne panic, not daring to answer out of fear.

“Anne?!” ask the Duke again. “You didn't report everything to me, did you?” Anne was stunned that the Duke was beginning to suspect her for fear that Anne would immediately sit on her knees.

“So, it's true that you haven't reported everything to me and even hid it from me.”

“I'm sorry sir, I was wrong! I did not report the whole thing to you and hid some information from you.” exclaimed Anne immediately confessed and apologized for fear of being sentenced to a heavier sentence if not directly confess to duke Leonard whose facial expression now does not look good. “But, I hid some information and did not report it to you because all of it was a request of Miss Leathina, mr.” He said with a trembling voice.

“Alright, I get it.” Mumbled Duke, “But first explain why so many Leathina dresses and jewelry are missing and where are all those bags of money, Anne?” ask her seriously. “And make sure there is nothing you hide from me anymore or you cover up if you do not want to receive punishment from me.” He was seriously commemorating Anne.

“B-well sir, I understand, I will answer all your questions without anything I hide.” Pasrah's answer.

“So say!” ask the Duke to tell him what he does not know.

“The half of Miss Leathina's dresses have been sold, as well as the jewelry lost because Miss Leathina Tuan has been sold, Miss asked me to sell some of her dresses and jewelry secretly in order to get money Mr.”

“Duke?” call Adrian again. “Is there a problem, Leonard?” adrian asked again who asked as a friend instead of as a secretary for fear of seeing Duke Leonard who now looks very tired.

“Ah! Adrian, I'm sorry but today come back sooner there's something I have to do myself.” The Duke said in response to Adrian.

Seeing the Duke did not seem to want to tell him about the problems he was experiencing now, Adrian chose to stay silent no longer asking because he did not want to force the master and his old friend.

 “Hah?! It's really concerning, but what else can I do to help her if what makes her what she is now is her mounting guilt for her daughter that she ignored herself Adrian glanced back at Duke Leonard while he was in the doorway.

“Alright, I go Mr. Duke.” Adrian said goodbye and again spoke politely to the duke after that immediately out of the room and left Duke Leonard alone.

After Adrian left and lived Duke Leonard alone in his office, he, The Duke took some papers and pens and began writing a counter-letter to immediately send to the shadow soldiers he had hired to find Leathina and also to Prince Edward whom he had sent to participate in leathina's search with the shadow soldiers.
