Chapter 123

Leathina was welcomed and well-groomed by the Damian family and even gave Leathina a well-deserved resting place compared to the owner. Leathina's room was the one Damian and her brother had been sleeping in while they were both sleeping in her uncle's place for the night.

“Kakak Lea.” Call a girl while following Leathina for the first time to see another woman who came to their place other than the people who lived with them.

“There's a Demina.” Leathina asked as the girl continued to follow her wherever she went.

They had three brothers, two boys and a daughter. The first child was a bandit whose hand was pierced by Leathina with a spear around the age of nineteen named Denis, the second child was a bandit who had knelt to Leathina and was fifteen years old, her name was Demian, and the last child was Demina, the only daughter in the bandit family where Leathina was staying and she was ten years old.

“Mother asked me to call sister Lea to the dining room, the food is done laid out on the dining table.” He said as he approached Leathina.

Leathina's brows furrowed at Demina feeling that there was something strange about the girl. His feelings automatically felt wary of the ten-year-old girl. Leathina felt that her smile was not as natural as the other children and that she did not seem to be used to being so spoiled, Leathina knew about it after unconsciously observing Nora's behavior while with her.

“What I just feel, this kid seems to be hiding something.” His mind was on his way to the dining room.

“What's up?” Demina asked with her innocent face as Leathina continued to look at him.

Leathina did not care for him there was concern about the girl who always followed him since he was not at the residence of the bandits.

“It feels like it belongs to Yasmine, Cunning. If left unchecked then it would be no good I hope someone teaches him a lesson.” Inner Leathina then immediately left Demina who was still waiting for her answer because she did not want to linger with Demina.

“Nona Leathina, please sit.” Welcome Demian who had already sat in the dining chair waiting for their arrival.

“Please sit Miss.” Demian and Denis' father almost simultaneously welcomed Leathina's arrival.

“Expression?” Leathina muttered softly as she unintentionally glanced towards Demina as no one would allow her to sit down at a glance Leathina saw the dislike expression that Yasmine used when in the crowd.

“I seem to observe people's expressions too often while still in their previous lives. I know which stares of disgust, dislike, or even ridicule for being a beggar-asker should be heartbreaking." Leathina closed her eyes for a while then shook her head several times to dispel memories of her past in her previous life while still being Isabella.

“Tak”

“Aww!”

Demian tripped on his own leg then hit Leathina who was in front of him and fell backwards, Leathina was also about to fall but because of holding on to the pole nearby Leathina could maintain her balance and immediately stand up straight again.

“You're okay Demina!” Demina's father and mother asked almost simultaneously.

“I'm okay dad, mom.” Demina then stood up.

“Pardon my carelessness brother Lea.” His words politely apologized to Leathina.

Leathina sensed something strange, her two eyebrows furrowed and let out a dislike expression towards Demina.

“What's Miss Lea?” Demian asked who saw Leathina's dislike gaze on her sister Demina.

“Give!!” Snapped Leathina to Demina and did not care about Demian's question.

“A-a-what does sister Lea mean?” Demina asked stammeredly.

“Give me the item you just stole!” Said Leathina firmly without feeling pity for Demina her eyes were sharp looking towards Demina while the person who saw the two of them was only confused because they did not understand Leathina's intentions.

Demina still showed no signs of giving up her eyes instead looked at Leathina back as if to challenge her which one would lose and give up between the two of them.

“This child?!” Leathina looked back at the smile on the corner of her lips Demina then turned back to her feet and pretended to be a plain child again.

“Srek.”

Leathina grew furious and drew her sword which she always carried everywhere, he must not let his surveillance decline just because he will stay with them overnight and therefore Leathina always carries her sword wherever she goes in the lair of the villain.

His sword he swung and stopped just as it was about to touch Demina's neck skin until her collar was cut off because of Leathina's sword.

“Tak! Teriinnnggg.” Being surprised not to let Leathina dare to openly swing her sword at him even though being in the territory of the bandits made Demina tremble in fear and dropped a ring then the ring she dropped rolled and near his father's feet.

“Demina?” Said his father while looking down to pick up the ring his son dropped. “Dad never thought you would humiliate me in front of a guest whose father and brothers respect.” He then took the ring and observed Leathina's ring now in her hand.

“Gosh!” He screeched after seeing the image on Leathina's ring.

“What's dad?” Denis asked curiously because he saw his father so shocked and walked to the place his father wanted to see the ring and was followed by Demian and the others.

He saw the ring has a carving of two crossed swords in front of a shield symbol of the greatness of one of the high noble families in the kingdom that is from the residence of the duke with the surname Yarnell.

They all then looked towards Leathina and recalled the rumors that circulated that the Yarnell family's first child was a woman, red-haired and expert in using swords and all those traits now they saw in front of him directly.

“What's dad?” Demina asked puzzledly seeing everyone's expressions become frightened.

“FORGIVE US THE HUMILIATION WE DID TO YOU MISS LEATHINA!” Saying them all almost simultaneously then kneeling in front of Leathina. They realized that the person standing in front of him was not a random person once an arrest warrant came out of his mouth and would cut off their entire family.

“Pardon my daughter's stupidity Miss.” Denis' mother said, flushing toward her daughter and forcing her to kneel to Leathina.

“Mother what's wrong?” Demina asked her mother who looked very scared.

“Stupid why you always make trouble Demina.” Whisper her mother to Demina.

“What is this woman?” Demina asked her mother again because she still did not understand.

“She is Miss Leathina, hailing from one of the great noble families in the kingdom. He's from the Yarnell family one of the families that dad forbids to deal with them.” His mother whispered to Demina.

“Oh, Jeez.” Pekik Demina who finally understood the situation.

“Ma-forgive me Miss Le-leathina.” Denisa bluntly apologized to Leathina

“Hah!” Leathina exhaled violently because she was still irritated by the incident she had just experienced but slowly calmed back down because her stomach was hungry.

“Not a problem for me. I don't want to extend this issue but this is a final warning for you guys not to make any more trouble ahead.” Leathina then walked up to take her ring that was lying on the floor after it had been seen by everyone then put it back in her pocket and her gaze turned towards Demina who was still kneeling.

Demina quickly lowered her gaze not daring to look towards Leathina out of fear.

“You won't stand?” leathina asked when she saw that someone was still on their knees.

“Heh only like this and no penalties?” The person that Demian said was his uncle who had fainted but had now recovered.

“You want punishment?” Leathina asked ignorant upon hearing her search for her own death hole by asking for punishment.

“Eh no, no, miss.” Said Denis' father in a panic and immediately stood up then pulled the others too to quickly stand up.

“Only nobles who deal with people like us will usually punish. Last year one of our brothers accidentally dealt with one of the nobles and ended up dead on beheaded.”

“So?” leathina asked again and managed to scare them all away.

“Excuse us miss Leathina.” They cried almost simultaneously.

“You're lucky I'm no longer the Leathina I used to be.” Murmured Leathina and took a seat in the dining chair.

“Ka-we where might dare to be insolent by sitting down with Miss.” Demian told Leathina because nobles would not normally be willing to sit with people who were not equal to them.

“It's okay to sit down, you guys can pretend you don't know my identity right?” Leathina asked with a pushy gaze that they should forget Leathina's identity and not tell anyone about her.

“Ba-alright, let's sit you all down. Miss Lethi. I mean Miss Lea has been waiting for us to eat together.” Denis' father and the others sat timidly and ate together quietly.

Leathina looked at Demina but when she looked at Demina she immediately lowered her head or turned her face the other way not daring to look at Leathina because of the mistake she had made.

After finishing her meal Leathina went straight back to the room to rest in between by Demian.

“So so yes.” Leathina muttered after laying down her body on the bed and remembered Demian's explanation that followed her and explained about her sister while driving her to her room where she was resting.

Demina is a smart child, although she is still ten years old her actions and thoughts are not in accordance with her age and sometimes Demina is the one who strategizes on them when going to rob. Demina had also been used to stealing in the markets and coming with her father and brothers to rob passers-by.

Due to fatigue Leathina finally tried to close her eyes and fall asleep so as not to feel exhausted again when going to continue her journey back in the future.

“Trak” sound creaking room door Leathina creaking when opened by someone.

Leathina heard it and still closed her eyes pretending to fall asleep soundly.

Leathina had someone's hand flashing in front of her face and nimbly caught it and twisted it.

“Aww, Aww! This is Demina.” He was strangled when he felt pain in his hand which was twisted backwards by Leathina.

“Demina, what are you doing here?” Leathina asked and let go of the grip of her hand that was still holding Denisa's hand firmly.

“I want to take my blanket, the plan was earlier when I heard there was a female guest who will come I plan to sleep with you but after knowing who the real Miss I can not sleep with you.” Obviously Demina told Leathina the truth.

“You mean you want to sleep together because you want to take secretly all my stuff while I'm asleep.” Leathina then crossed her hands in front of her chest while looking at Demina who was still standing in front of her.

“That, that, actually what Miss Lea said was true.” Demina resigned because Leathina knew her true purpose.

“But this time I really just want to take my blanket that I keep there.” Said Demina while pointing towards the blanket placed on the mattress.

“Take.” Leathina let Demina take the blanket she meant.

"Thank you Miss.” He said as he bowed politely and then immediately walked out of Leathina's room carrying her blanket.

“My rest time is only five hours.” Leathina murmured while exhaling a long breath.

After Demina came out Leathina immediately locked the door of her room from the inside and resumed her disturbed sleep.

“Oh, jeez what is it?!” Leatina woke up to hear a noise from the outside and immediately sat down and was alert to the surrounding situation because she heard the sound of people fighting.

“Denis and Demian?” Leathina muttered as she peeked at the blemishes of the wooden walls and saw the two sisters in a sparring exercise and being watched over by her father.

“Morning once they workout.” Leathina muttered again when she realized that the sun had not really come out.

Leathina picked up her robe and bag then immediately put it on and walked out about to restart her journey to return to the kingdom.

“Nona you already want to go?” Denis' mother asked suddenly when she saw Leathina coming out with all her belongings.

“Iya true madam, I must immediately return to the kingdom. Be sure to serve me well.” Said Leathina while handing over some gold coins as her inn biya.

“What is Miss Lea? You shouldn't have to pay us. We do not even provide anything special for Miss.” He said while refusing Leathina's money.

“True my mother said, Miss does not need to give something like this to us, it is precisely we who thank Miss.” Said Demian who suddenly had been nearby with her brother and father.

“I asked you to find an inn for me and you did well. Because I said the inn meant I had to pay the rent instead, which is why I paid.” Said Leathina and gave her rent forcibly and politely left to continue her journey back.

“Nona is actually something I want to say.” Said the father suddenly with a serious face.

“What's the Lord? Say.” Answer Leathina.

“Miss I know that my request is very unreasonable but if it is allowed Miss please take one of my sons with you.” He said while kneeling because of his request which he thought was too excessive.

“What do you mean old?” Ask Leathina again.

“Bring one of my sons they are proficient in sword and martial arts. Miss might be able to make her a protector or a guard at the Miss residence or even Miss could bring my daughter to be a servant, to be honest I have long intended to quit this job but because everyone has known that we are from a family with a robber ancestor then no one is willing to accept us as their workers.”

“You're really going to give your son to me?” ask Leathina to make sure.

“I mean it Miss.” Reply sure.

“Though you give your children to work for me but not necessarily your children will come with me.”

“We are willing Miss Lea!” Denis, Demian and Demina almost simultaneously.

“You must have heard rumors about me opening up, though, it's not easy working for me even if you get a job people will still demean you know I'm of mixed blood not pure nobility my mother is a commoner and nobles don't like things that don't pure as I am." Leathina tried to shake their resolve to not want to come again with Leathina.

“That's no problem for us, we pls take us or one of us.”

“Gosh these kids are so stubborn. If. I take it I'm not sure they'll be able to adapt.      

“Alright if you force, I'll give the three of you a job and if you can't finish it before the time I set then there won't be any of you I hire but if you succeed then you all can come with me.”

“Alright Miss, we understand.” Say the three of them almost simultaneously.

After Leathina explained to them what kind of work they had to do and when their term of duty ended Leathina immediately left and resumed her journey to return to the kingdom before the feast began.
