Edward looked at Adam who was now walking and came towards him and then checked if Troy and Nina were really gone, “How do you work?” her question was then with her voice that she deliberately shrank because she did not want to wake Leathina.
When he saw Adam's bent face made Edward know that something was wrong with his job.
“Everything went well but it seems like there is another group who are also looking for Miss Leathina.” Adam replied politely, occasionally glanced at Leathina who was lying on the bed and still unconscious.
“He's fine, maybe just exhausted so fall asleep. I can't hurt him, you know for sure, right?” Edward said he understood the meaning of Adam's glance at Leathina.
“I'm sorry boss, I didn't mean. I'm just worried about how anyone could know where he is we'd have a hard time finding him if it wasn't for Miss Leathina's accident to light a match for what the link might be up to now that we haven't found new.” Adam told Edward.
“Say,” said Edward asked Adam to report the whole thing to him, Edward was actually also worried if the person who was also looking for Leathina came from the opposite side of them.
“They are all just ordinary bandits, the coachman is the mastermind of their evil thinking, he said, he who controls his members and targets his victims then asks his flock to act while in the middle of the journey so that the coachman can take all the property of his victims without being suspected as a criminal for reasons that have strong that the bandits are the ones attacking them.”
“Just like this? Seeing from your facial expression doesn't seem that simple.” Said Edward.
“Actually everything is just ordinary but while doing the cleaning someone suddenly interfered and killed all the bandits with poisoned arrows.”
“What makes them a target?” ask Edward who is now looking seriously.
“When Miss Leathina disappeared the Duke announced widely that they wanted any information about his missing daughter even offered rewards for anyone who could provide any more information to find her, he said, this leaves people scrambling to find out about the whereabouts of Miss Leathina, who, even though they had never seen Miss Leathina's face in person the features mentioned turned out to be used as a search benchmark and when in the village yesterday they likely happened to see Miss Leathina's red hair that's why they targeting him and it seems like the one who brought the news about the gift did not officially come from the Duke or the Kingdom but rather from the people who were also looking for Leathina.”
“So you mean the news they got was not from the kingdom or from the residence of Duke Leonard but from someone else who was also looking for Leathina and found out that Leathina was in this village?”
“Betul, but most likely they have not really known about the whereabouts of Miss Leathina here and are still alive. They came here only because they heard the news of the bird about the existence of the girl with the same characteristics as Miss Leathina, she said, if indeed they had known from the beginning that Miss Leathina was in this area would not it be better if they went straight to Miss Leathina alone in comparison to announcing it to everyone.”
“They are quite smart, because do not want to be known is looking for Leathina they chose to announce it and ask people to sell information directly on her, You know who the person is?”
“When I started interrogating the bandits and asked the bandit group they said that the person who informed them was a guest of the richest man in the nearest city then before having a chance to talk more suddenly the arrows that had been smeared with poison had been fired towards them all to death on the spot.”
“So they accidentally killed on the bandits for not wanting his identity known?”
“Iya seems to be like that, and they might as well be on the lookout with us now.”
“Alright I understand now, you must remain vigilant lest someone enter this room even if it is the innkeeper there is something I should do.” Edward then moved from his place and then out of the room leaving Leathina who was still unconscious since she accidentally fainted.
“Good afternoon Mr.” Greet the innkeeper as he passed Edward was about to leave.
Edward did not respond much he just turned his head for a while then nodded slowly without really paying more attention to the innkeeper who seemed to be trying to get along with Edward
“How is your wife? Looks like it's still resting then I'll go to see him who knows there's something in need .... Akh!” Said the innkeeper again then immediately turned to the room Edward had rented for Leathina but suddenly stopped.
“Why are you so curious about another man's wife huh?!” Suddenly Edward grabbed her by the nape and pulled her along with him to the front door of the inn.
“Akh! Tu-suan if like this my neck can be broken loh.” His pleasantries then tried to break free but were unsuccessful because Edward did not intend to let go so easily that his neck had been flushed due to the deep pressure.
“Master if it's like this my neck can be really broken loh.” Said the innkeeper again who now no longer dared to move due to the pain he felt on his neck made him have to bend when walking and forced to follow Edward.
“I asked why you didn't answer?” edward asked, puzzling the innkeeper.
“When to ask her?” ask her with a face trying to remember something.
“Why are you so interested in someone else's wife?” Edward repeated his previously unanswered question and waited for the innkeeper to answer but instead of answering the innkeeper was just a whimper.
“Ka-when am I like that?” he said as he scratched his non-itchy fist and then glanced to the right and left trying to find someone who could free him from Edward who did not seem to intend to let go easily.
“Akh!” his throat was in pain as Edward pressed his neck to the point of suffocating him.
“Tu-mister ma-pardon me, I'm really sorry, I don't mean anything I just want to check his needs and will bring it if he's in need of something. So let go of my neck I could die of suffocation.” The innkeeper gave an excuse and then begged to be released immediately.
“It looks like you just found out that you can die too huh?” edward muttered. “But why only my wife do you treat it in a different way, when there are still some other guests. Don't – don't you plan something?”
“No, there's nothing like it sir, but can first let go of my neck first?” the innkeeper again asked to be let go unfortunately Edward did not have a good heart, Edward gripped him even harder and then looked at him coldly, not caring for the innkeeper who was now starting to sting when breathing because of him.
“Akh! Tu-lord what is your job?” the innkeeper began to suspect Edward.
Being the owner of the inn for decades provides a unique experience for the innkeeper, he can distinguish and know which guests really only need a place to rest, people who are on the way, and who are in need of a place to rest, a merchant, to a man who works in the dark world.
Seeing Edward's expression that did not change in the slightest even when looking at him with a gaze filled with emphasis and actions that seemed to be regrettable even though killing someone made the owner know that Edward was used to it with the dark world may even have a job dabbling there.
“My work is as you expect now, or even crazier than you think it is now, if you choose to die then I will gladly grant it....”
“Akh! Sir, sir, I beg you, I will say, I will really say.” His screams were frightened as Edward smiled.
“So?” edward was brief.
“I just want to see her hair and face once only that really!”
“Ah! So you mean if you've seen her face and hair you'll do something about ist..”
“No!” cut off the innkeeper as Edward spoke, “It's not like that, for god's sake!” he said while shaking quickly. “I just want to see it because I'm looking for someone,”.
“Who are you looking for and for what?”
“U-for a gift, I looked for it to get in return, sir must have heard the news about Duke Leonard's daughter suddenly disappearing from the kingdom right? They offer a high price for everyone who can provide information not even hesitate to pay at a price that can not even be imagined, so I also want to get half of that payment.” The innkeeper tried to explain as clearly as possible to Edward hoping to be released soon.
Edward still could not believe that the innkeeper looked at him seriously without blinking at all, making the innkeeper shudder in horror when he met Edward directly.
“Really that's all sir! No other intent.” Said while begging.’
“Tak!”
“Aww!”
Edward looked at her with emotion as Edward turned around.
“What?!” asked Edward when he suddenly returned to see the innkeeper who was still sitting down below.
“No!” Answer is fast, “No problem My master is fine.” He then rushed back to his feet.
The innkeeper, who was afraid that Edward would suddenly back away, immediately retreated a few steps trying to keep his distance from Edward as far as he could.
“You!” edward said suddenly after a long silence made the innkeeper surprised and reflexively replied.
“I don't dare to be old, really!” Speaks spontaneously.
“It turns out you still love your life yes.” muttered Edward then smiled kindly, but in the eyes of the innkeeper Edward's smile now was the most terrible smile he had ever seen in his lifetime.
“Alright, you stand guard at the entrance. Refuse if there are other guests who want to enter what else want to stay here.” Edward gave the order.
“Can't be like that!” answer the spontaneous innkeeper, “Eh! Ma-I mean, I can't do what you ask sir, I can't do,” Saw Edward's expression suddenly turn dark because refusing to do what Edward asked him to make the innkeeper again feel afraid and immediately changed his way of speaking to be more gentle and slow down because of fear.
“Take this!” Said Edward while throwing a lump at the innkeeper.
Quickly the innkeeper caught the blob that Edward threw at him, “What is this Mr?” the question is confused but there is no explanation answer from Edward, because seeing Edward does not matter when he tried to open the blob quickly he peeked at the contents and then fell silent for a while after knowing the contents of the blob. “Well I will take care of it as best as possible and will not let anyone into this inn!” he said he was excited then quickly hid the blob Edward gave him fearing someone would steal it.
“Your accommodation I'll take a few days, so you have to remember what I said.”
“I will do without any errors and will not let anyone else enter or stay here as long as you are here.” His words tried to convince Edward to believe him and to touch back the lump he had hidden under his clothes afraid that Edward would suddenly take it back.
“A-what's up sir?” ask her again worried.
“I also won't disturb your wife song.” He said quickly after recalling his mistake that had made Edward angry.
“Good, do your job well.” Said Edward satisfied then immediately out of the inn.
“Ah! Beware of the three people who came with me.” Edward said before disappearing from behind the door.
“Why?” asked the innkeeper confused but Edward had already disappeared before hearing his question.
“A- what don't-don't the three people he means are crazier than him?” mumbling worried. “But, the money he gave me was very tempting I might be able to open a new inn branch with this money.” He muttered happily while shaking his pocket until the sound of coins clashing with each other.
the innkeeper let out a heavy sigh then took out a pen and paper writing down a few words and stuck them on the outer door of his inn.
“Duh, why should I get involved with crazy people like them anyway!” he murmured when he came back in.
“Who is crazy?”
“Ekh!”
asking someone who suddenly appeared behind him made the innkeeper startled.
“Sial! This is one of the three people that the crazy master meant earlier.” His mind while trying to calm down because it does not look strange.
“Ma-I mean, my brothers are all crazy. I-they want me to close today so that other customers can come to their lodging.” Said the innkeeper reasoned.
“Ah, so so,” his murmur understood. “That's why you wrote that today's inn is off and does not accept guests then stick them outside the door.” Say again.
“I-iy sir, what exactly are you saying. Ta-but that brings you here.” Ask trying to divert the discussion.
“I came because I wanted to ask for a blanket, my sister-in-law seemed to be cold.” Adam told me why he had come to find the innkeeper.
“So the man who previously came out was your family?’ tanyanya.
Adam nodded in agreement, accepting what he said the innkeeper who now returned as chatty as before even though a moment ago he looked like someone who was on the verge of death.
“Ah! Just deserve.” Murmured the owner of the inn sabil nodded in understanding then watched Adam from the tip of his foot to the tip of his hair repeatedly.
Adam wrinkled his forehead disliking the behavior of the innkeeper who started to upset him then looked down at the innkeeper who was shorter than him, “It should be equally crazy, with his brother?!” said Adam then stared at the owner of the inn coldly did not even blink at all making the innkeeper suddenly speechless because he felt depressed with Adam who only saw him.
“No, no, I didn't say that at all sir.” His words tried to dodge then tried to avoid the gaze of Adam who continued to look at him.
“If you dodge hard like that means it's true you say we're all crazy.” Adam's words made the innkeeper even more panicked because he could read his mind.
“Ekh! Blanket, you need a blanket?! alright sir I will bring to your room soon.” Said the innkeeper immediately diverted his conversation then quickly left Adam for the storage warehouse to pick up a blanket and pretend to be busy choosing a blanket that will be brought to the room occupied by Leathina, he deliberately linger choosing a blanket because he waits for Adam to leave first.
“I just want to let you know I heard you were trying to get close to my sister-in-law huh? be careful if I am dangerous, who knows the contents of your nosy head can be separated from the skull and found crumpled tomorrow morning.” Adam's whisper made the innkeeper afraid to not dare to see Adam's face even move and just peck in place.
“Ah! I didn't mean anything, I just told you to be careful!” said Adam who then smiled kindly and acted familiar again, “This I take now yes.” Adam took the blanket that was still held by the innkeeper and brought it back to his room.
“Hufff ...!” the innkeeper was finally able to breathe again in relief after Adam had completely left.
“Maybe I will soon be crazy if I keep meeting people like them.” His mutter resigned then immediately tidied up the pile of blankets
“But I was really lucky to get this much money by letting those lunatics stay in this dilapidated inn for a few days, he said, if it was me and had a lot of money like this I would have chosen a nicer inn than this.” The innkeeper spoke while patting the blob and then quickly opened it because in front of Edward he only dared to peek for a while out of fear.
The sight of a collection of gold coins in the blob made his eyes again sparkle to see a lot of money.
“While I can't see the female guest I can still get paid a lot, ah! Too bad if only I could see his face I certainly do not feel curious even though his hair is red like one of the characteristics of – mentioned, I definitely do not feel curious when his hair is red like one of the characteristics of , I also can't just sell information on the kingdom or duke's family I will definitely be imprisoned immediately if reckless well this way is enough.” He muttered glad to see a lot of money in the lump that was given by Edward earlier and did not forget he tried to calculate the total amount of money in the lump.
“Later I count, I just look around first as my eye medicine is starting to be my my nearsighted.” He muttered excitedly then sat down at the cashier's place while continuing to peek into the lumpy money bag as it contained a lot of coins in it.
