Chapter 34: The King of Goblins
In the silence a group of people from the empire looked at the other group who had come riding on horses. They were dazed and trembled for a while due to the powerful aura that the group deliberately displayed.
"Who are you?" One of the soldiers from the empire asked as he pointed his sword and stood by.
They don't answer. After Akio sheathed his sword, he immediately moved closer to Mavis and explained everything including the information on the whereabouts of the group from the empire. He spoke in a soft voice.
"So that's it."
Mavis got off her horse and walked up to the prince of the empire. Then he smiled and greeted, "It's nice to meet you."
Next he stood looking at the prince of the empire with his hands behind his back. Mavis saw that this person before her indeed seemed to be a prince.
"Son, even if your group has saved us, please be more polite. You're talking to an imperial prince!" One of the soldiers frowned.
"What the hell," said the imperial prince raising his hand as he told his minions to be quiet.
"It's nice to meet you, too. I am Julius Draco, prince of the Twin Towers Empire. We thank you and I personally represent the empire indebted to your group."
Mavis nodded.
"I am Asta Dixon, of the Srivijaya kingdom. And they're my group, Samantha, Ozzi, the Moon, the Stars, Giraldo, and the woman who carried the sword there Akio" Mavis said.
"Dixon?" Julius wondered inwardly, he felt no stranger to the suffix of the name, but he did not remember.
"Of course you're not from the Twin Towers empire. Because no one from the empire might come to this dungeon except the expedition team. The Empire has made a public announcement to prohibit anyone including adventurers from coming as long as the expedition team is trying to remove this dungeon."
"That's it, so that's why." Mavis so understood the intent of the soldiers guarding outside earlier.
It seemed like the Twin Towers' imperial relationship was not good with adventurers. That is proven by not including adventurers in this operation. Though the adventurers have more capable power when compared to ordinary soldiers.
"Then, what happened to you guys? According to the information that our group obtained the deployed troops did not amount to more than enough to wipe out this dungeon?"
"We thought so at first." Julius turned pale and his face became ugly. "Either why something unexpected comes up. One of the goblin herds is mutated and has intelligence. The goblin became the leader of the dungeon and organized a flock of goblins. We managed to escape to this extent thanks to the sacrifice of some front-linked soldiers, but the goblins quickly chased after our group."
"Goblin king? Those goblins have mutating abilities?" Mavis just found out the monsters from inside the dungeon could have mutations.
"Then I wonder if your group is willing to join us to report back? After all, the empire will reward your group for helping us."
"Let's split up here, we still have other business in this dungeon," Mavis said.
"Please don't take it too hard, it's because we've lost many friends and relatives on this expedition" Julius said.
Mavis nodded, still smashing a smile and not taking the dizzy words of the soldier.
"Thank you for telling us. But we will continue. You guys please calm down, our group is not an easy group to oppress. We can take care of ourselves" Mavis said.
"Then we're parting ways here."
Mavis returned on horseback, followed by his followers and continued to enter the dungeon. While a group of people from the empire who saw the departure of the Mavis group cursed in the back row.
"Are they not arrogant? Even the Prince had already generously invited them and prepared gifts! How stupid."
"They are just looking for death! You guys are obviously there and watching as our friends get slaughtered one by one! The goblin king is too strong! I almost wet my pants while running away!"
"How's Prince? Shouldn't we catch up and help them escape?"
Unexpectedly one of the plain-faced female soldiers was among them and spoke doubtfully.
"You're talking about what Youlan is! Did you deliberately want to get the Prince killed at the goblin's hands?"
"But...."
"Let's go back and report to the empire. We will come back to this dungeon with enough preparation," Julius said.
"It'll be too late, they must have been killed already!"
"You please calm down, Youlan. Didn't you see how great the sword lady's ability was? They were no ordinary adventurers. Looking at his abilities, at least it was in the realm of red-planned adventurers," Julius said.
"Could possibly..."
