I'M THE NECROMANCER KING
Chapter 94: The Little Zahard

"Stop."

The party halted their horse's steps as soon as Mavis gave the order. Before long, a child appeared from the direction of a slum tent, the boy went running with moldy bread on his chest. Running and arriving in the middle of a big dusty road, he lost his balance and then fell.

He shed tears, but did not scream. He held it back while cleaning the hard bread in his hand, trying to wipe away the dust that was stuck. Next, his face turned frightened, and his little hand trembled as his bead found a man chasing him close to him.

"Rancid boy! Who told you to steal, huh? Who are the parents of this child! Out!" The man kicked the boy in annoyance while shouting in the middle of the road. He looked towards the tents to find out who the parents of this child were, he wanted to ask for compensation for the bread that had been stolen.

"Good! If no one confesses let this child be a slave for stealing my bread!"

The man looked at the child in a bad way, then he pulled the child's arm violently. Meanwhile, the child whose body was weak could only wriggle helplessly. For a moment the boy looked away to seek help in all directions, and accidentally his two beads stared at Mavis.

The two looked at each other for a split second, but the boy immediately moved his gaze, as he felt it would be impossible for a respectable and clean person like him to help such a shabby child. He was truly self-pitying, why would he even have to be born from such a lowly place?

Meanwhile, on the other hand as soon as the boy turned his gaze away, Mavis suddenly felt a tightness and difficulty breathing. It was like a needle was piercing his heart, and it was very deep. Mavis could feel what the boy was feeling. It was more like a reflection to him, very similar to his condition when powerless against the destiny in his previous life.

"You who are there, let go of the boy" said Mavis.

Being at a decent distance, Mavis gave her followers the direction to move their horses following Mavis, moving closer to the two. The boy widened his eyes and immediately looked at Mavis blankly, while the man threw a vile look at Mavis.

"Who are you? Why should I listen to your orders?" The man propped his hands around his waist while tilting his eyebrows, as a form of provocation to Mavis.

"You ... What's your name?" Mavis asked the little boy. He really did not heed the man before him who was talking.

"So, Zahard, do you want me to save you?" Mavis asked in a relaxed tone, then she smiled faintly at the girl.

For a moment the little girl was silent and hesitant. This was clearly absurd, when a stranger like him suddenly extended a favor to a lowly child like him. However, when he glanced back at Mavis and received a trace of sincerity there. The boy immediately shed his tears.

"Yes, please save me," said the little girl sobbing. He knocked on his chest like a man in full hope.

"Bad!"

The man there growled at the boy and Mavis for ignoring him. He pulled the boy's arm and dragged him by force, then was about to take him away from the place. It was just that as soon as he was about to walk and step, a dagger shot out from the direction of the Mavis group and it scratched the man's neck slightly.

"What?" The man was shocked and held onto his injured neck. Then with a horrified look he looked towards the group of Mavis nervously.

"What are you doing!" The man continued his words.

"You still asking?" Mavis only chuckled at the man's reaction. He also secretly gave praise to the Stars for his actions just now.

Mavis slightly salute because Bintang has begun to get used to controlling his emotions, it is seen from his attacks that are only intended to commemorate the man. Else if he was really serious and inedible with emotions, he could easily slash the man's neck, instead of scratching it.

"Don't I warn you before, to let go of the boy?" Mavis.

"What empty omong! Just look! Wait until the officers come and arrest all of you! You need to know, this is not a place where adventurers like you can do their best!" The man smiled in disdain and hoped the guards would come soon and capture the group.
