Chapter 53: Emergence of the Empire's New Expeditionary Team
"Look!" Luna pointed at something far ahead.
Now they were at the end of the forest and before them was seen a vast expanse of grassland. Glancing far ahead, like the end of a stretch of grassland, was seen a building with high wooden walls surrounding an area inside.
"It must be the dwelling place of the humans, Mrs Samantha once said that there was a human settlement not too far from where we live." Bellatrix argued when confirming what Luna found far ahead.
Bellatrix is the chief goblin who heads the field of education and teaching. Among others he is the most suitable in this field, the main reason being that he is insightful and can draw conclusions well, he said, therefore Samantha gave him a little knowledge so that they could get a picture of the information of the outside world. Samantha has also explained the conditions of their existence which the outside world calls dungeon dwellers. Therefore their existence is considered a threat to people from the outside world dominated by the human race.
"Sir, what are we going to do next?" Merlin.
The three women glanced at Ivar who was currently silent looking at the building ahead. Ivar himself was also unsure whether it was necessary for them to go closer to scouting the place, or they came back with no results at all. Considering they did not find another human - suspected by a group of scouts - as long as they walked through the forest. That meant the humans had returned before the four could reach them.
"Let me call my lord. You can rest" said Ivar.

Also, it would be impossible for them to enter unnoticed, they did not have the ability to disappear. Even if they do disguise it is not a good idea, they have to cover everything, because their skin still leaves a greenish color, he said, of course it would invite even greater suspicion and their disguise would soon be uncovered.
"Sir, there's something I want to talk to you about" Ivar said in his telepathy, it was directly connected to Mavis.
"You? Ivar's? Did something happen there?" Mavis replied casually.
"Sir, our guard post has recently been attacked by a group of humans. We're currently under investigation and are scouting their settlement outside our premises."
"Wait..." Mavis frowned, then continued. "You didn't go in there, did you?"
While Ivar was talking to Mavis in silence, Luna and the others were looking for a place to lean against a nearby tree and were sitting underneath it. However, when Luna had just taken her sitting position, she who had a slightly sharper vision than the others saw the crowd moving forward towards the human settlement. From a distance it looks like a swarming ant, that number is huge! There was no way a settlement like that small village could accommodate their numbers. Luna herself was startled and quickly got up and directed her friend to look at the troop.
"They're coming."
Unlike usual, Bellatrix was unable to maintain her composure and gritted her teeth.
This is definitely not good news for them. The army was very much compared to the troops that had come to attack their previous place, if accumulated it was about three times.
"What's really going on?" Luna said nervously.
"Sir...!" Luna shouted for Ivar.
Ivar who realized something had happened behind him immediately turned his back to look at the three women. Then he followed the direction of Luna's index finger and saw the apparition as well.
Immediately, he reported that to Mavis by trying to remain calm in front of his master. "Just now we see a large number of troops moving towards the human settlement. Seeing how slow their movements were, it would be less than half a day until they arrived at their destination."
"It looks like our guess is right about them sending out a surveillance team and attacking the new guard post we've created. They've prepared this, sir. They will come and attack us in the near future."
"Calm Ivar, we don't know yet what troops are moving towards the settlement. For the time being it is better to come back to strengthen the defense. Me and the others will soon go to where you are now and find out about it" said Mavis.
