Chapter 9: The Surprise of the Black Shadow

Marrie tells the chronology at the time of the queen's attack. The incident happened so quickly, that the guards who were always on guard at the door of the queen's room could not see a single person entering. The killer slipped like it fused with a shadow.

It was fortunate that the queen's servants had sufficient abilities. Otherwise the dagger managed to touch the queen's skin and poison her.

Yes, the weapon was poisonous after investigation.

"Right now the queen's residence is strictly guarded by the king's order, as well as at the royal family's residence" Sasha said.

Marrie had been visiting the queen's mansion to ask the maid who worked there about the queen's condition. Mavis did tell Marrie to monitor the queen's condition. However, once there he was stopped by the soldiers not far in the grounds, the soldier informed him that no one should approach the queen's mansion at this time, either, except only the royal family and certain people are allowed.

The servants who took care of the queen's mansion also flocked to be expelled and interrogated at that time.

Marrie asked the soldier who was there, what has happened? But the soldier gave no answer and drove him away.

"But how could Juleaha's concubine be that close!"

"Concubine Juleaha had planned it from the beginning. He made the guards block the road with the intention of luring you to come to that place. Something must be waiting there, you can't go there, Prince!" said Marrie.

"Don't worry, I won't act stupid. I told someone to go protect my mother" Mavis said.

Sasha and Marrie were shocked, when did this prince tell someone to leave? He was in front of her and did not see anyone.

They can't see it, but Mavis can see because it's hers.

Mavis had just told Buster to go protect the queen. Although actually he did not need to send Buster to that place because the bitch concubine could not dare to openly kill the queen. Consort Juleaha had already shown herself upon entering the queen's residence, and there many had seen her.

If his guess is not wrong, Mavis thinks the killer is a man of Juleaha's concubine.

It would only benefit Mavis by getting proof that the killer was a man of Juleaha's concubine.

"Anyways, now we just wait and see what the old fox has planned" Mavis said.

Both of them just nodded and smiled. They felt very relieved after understanding what Mavis meant.

Both of them did not expect this prince to hide his true identity. The prince who used to look like a fool and disgusting, turned out to be a very wise and very smart person.

The present Prince of Asta is the prince whom the two girls admire. The two of them started to feel comfortable and safe while being near the prince. It seemed, any problem would be resolved if there was a prince.

While the three were waiting for news from Buster who was sent by Mavis to the queen, there stood Juleaha's concubine with her minions who were looking at the queen with a trivial look.

However, on the other hand, Juleaha's concubine felt a little disturbed by the duration he was planning. Which he is waiting for the arrival of Mavis to be made a scapegoat on this matter.

He clicked his tongue. The purple-clothed woman turned her body against her bodyguards. He turned sour at the next moment, then asked about Mavis' whereabouts.

"Reus, you should know what price he has to pay if he fails a second time" Consort Juleaha said.

Reus opened his mouth, but a second later he could not say anything. He increasingly felt his decision was wrong to introduce his sister to Juleaha's concubine. He should have known, Darius would only be a slave to the concubine's love and would only be used.

"My patience is over. I've guessed that boy isn't as simple as I thought. Your plan was just a joke to him, you know that?" concubine Juleaha said.

Concubine Juleaha walked towards one of her guards and pulled the guard's sword from its sheath. Then he dragged his index finger along the sword and blood poured down the sharp tip of the sword.

While walking closer to the queen's bed, Consort Juleaha smiled and laughed like a psychopath looking at her target.

The two sharp eyes were locked on the queen's face which still looked beautiful despite having been asleep for a long time.

He hates that face!

"You should know what it's like when the king ignores you" Consort Juleaha said.

Then the sword began to lift with both hands.

"Look at the time the king saw that disgusting face."

A second after ending his words, both of his hands waved the sword and were about to scratch the queen's face for the first.

But something surprising happened.

A flash of black gas came swiftly out of nowhere and appeared near the queen, and then took the form of a strange, half-human, creature, and the figure stopped the slash of the sword that was about to hit the queen's face.

The sword was restrained in the black figure's hands.

Consort Juleaha was forced to retreat and release the sword. He was so shocked that he couldn't help but open his mouth wide.

Similarly, the concubine's minions who saw the strange figure a split second flinching, but then rush to stand by and secure Juleaha's concubine from the mysterious figure.

"What the fuck is that thing! Reus, who is he!" Consort Juleaha became very hysterical after coming face to face and very close to the black creature. His hands were still trembling, his legs were becoming limp, and sweat began to gather on his forehead.

"You people! Don't fear! Protect Madame Juleaha!"

"Kill the devil!"

"Protect Miss!"

"Forward!"
