Married A Blind Heir

Married A Blind Heir
Chapter 15 The victim's family

"There were in total two people who died from burns and there were seven who were injured." Laras was silent as a shadow of the report that Ema spoke of the location of the fire this afternoon.

Without feeling a tear flowing just like that to wet his cheeks. The guilt and confusion that became a shackle in his heart, made Laras lose his way. His gaze stared far ahead, where the back garden lights seemed to light up so beautifully. However, in fact all of that can not reduce the turmoil in him.

"Let's eat first," said Ervin who had been out since when standing behind Laras.

Laras was still silent, either because he did not hear Ervin's words, or indeed did not want to answer.

"What do I do, sir? They ... they were injured and died," murmured Laras still with his sobs.

"Eat first, then we will think together with the way out," said Ervin while walking to the front of Laras and extending his hand.

Laras stared at Ervin's hand and then turned his gaze in another direction without any intention of welcoming him. He asked quietly with his voice that had started to rumble. "Does Master still have appetite, after all that happened to them?"

Ervin exhaled softly as he retracted his hand, he smiled blandly as he looked straight ahead. "As corporate leaders, we must be realistic, Baras. If you feel sorry for the victims, then fight for their right to get a proper funeral and the best care. We can't just fixate on their grief."

Laras looked at Ervin's face fixed, although Ervin's words sounded heartless to his gentle heart and easily filled with a heartbreaking incident. However, Laras also does not hurt, if his logic justifies the words of the husband.

"In this incident, we are not spectators or even victims, Laras. You are a responsible person even though you are not the perpetrator. But, it is the risk of someone being the leader. We have failed to maintain their safety, so we must answer them how we can."

Baras is still silent. He began to understand what was happening to him and how to deal with this situation. However, it did not make the burden in his heart subside at all.

"Where are the company's losses?" ask Laras.

"The earth goes up and down. If now we are in decline and have to lose because of this incident, it is natural to happen. But, that should not be an excuse for us to just stand idly by and leave everything to destiny. The contrary. Work harder to make up for that deficiency."

Laras blinked slowly, his eyes focused on seeing the look of Ervin's serious face that looked increasingly charming. During their marriage, it seemed like only this time did she hear Ervin speak at length. That was so amazing. Laras could not even distract her from the figure of the man who had now become her husband.

"Master isn't mad at me?"

The plain question that just went out of Laras' lips made Ervin powerless to resist his piety. So, all this time Laras was also afraid if he would be angry? How adorable.

"What am I going to you for? It's a disaster, isn't it?" ask Ervin.

"So, sir, aren't you angry?"

"If I'm angry, what am I here for now, hem?" Ervin raised one of his eyebrows with his face turned to Laras as if he could see Laras.

Laras' body stiffened, as if he could sense that Ervin was looking at him right now. However, moments later he realized that Ervin could not see. Even so, Laras was still curious until he unconsciously waved his hand right in front of Ervin's face which was now quite close to him.

"Ekhm!" The barrel cleared his throat to reduce the awkwardness that suddenly felt. "Say you want to eat? Come on, we'll eat now."

Laras took Ervin's hand as he stood up. Although he was surprised by Laras' attitude, but a moment later Ervin nodded slowly in response. The two walked to the dining table.

...❤‍🩹...

In the morning, Laras left for the office excitedly. His hand held a map, the result of overtime work himself and Ervin, to overcome the problem of a warehouse fire that occurred yesterday afternoon.

However, sometimes reality does not fit the plan we have prepared. That's what happened to Laras this morning. As soon as the car that brought him into the office, it turned out that in the lobby there was a riot of the families of the victims who requested accountability from the company.

"You'd better get in the private elevator. It's too dangerous if you show yourself to them without any preparation first," hendri said as he drove his car past the families of the victims who were forcing their way into the company and continued it to a special parking lot.

"Why did they get here, when yesterday I assigned Ema to give all the best to the victims?"

The barrel looked back unsteady, the hands on his lap squeezing each other with agitated moving eye beads.

"Calm yourself, madam. You must still look strong in front of the company leaders. I'll find out what happened to the trustees of those fire victims." Hendri tried to calm Laras who had started to panic again.

Inhaling deeply until it felt filled his entire chest cavity, then exhaling back with a little roughness. Baras did that over and over again, until he felt calmer than before.

"I am calmer. Thank you, sir." The barrel prepared to get out of the car with Hendri swiftly opening the door for him. Laras stopped his steps then turned to face Hendri, then said with a sweet smile. "Oh yeah, I'm waiting for news of them as soon as possible huh, sir."

For a while, Hendri pecked when his eyes clearly saw the sweet smile of Laras. Even so, as fast as lightning he neutralized the look of his face again, then nodded slowly and diverted his attention from the face of Laras. "Good, Mistress. I'll try as soon as possible to get the information and report it to you."

"Eum," nodded Laras then continued his steps towards a special elevator not far from where he stood, leaving Hendri who was still trying hard to hold back nervous because of the past events.

"Where can it be that sweet? If the boss finds out, I can get fired right away. Haish, shit!" grumbled Hendri while shuffling the hair on the back of his head.

...❤‍🩹...

"Emi, please get into my room immediately" said Laras as soon as he reached his secretary's desk.

"Well, ma'am," nodded Ema while immediately preparing the file that she should report to Laras.

"Ema, why are they downstairs? Didn't I assign you yesterday to represent me to meet them?" ask Laras while sitting in his chair.

"I'm sorry, Madam. But yesterday I met them and they agreed with what we were going to give. I'm also confused, why now they're even coming to actors and making a fuss." Ema lowered her head with her hands squeezing each other, afraid of getting angry or even getting fired by Laras.

"God ...." Baras exhaled softly while massaging the base of his nose which began to feel throbbing. Everything he had planned all night, even now was completely unworkable. He had to start all over again and negotiate with the families of the victims for the second time.

Laras had not had time to breathe and think about the next step, suddenly the door of the room was knocked and opened just like that without waiting for him to let in.

"Didn't you see the mess in the lobby? They forced their way in and threatened to sue the company and accused the company of not caring about employee safety!" jolt an old man with a slightly uncit stomach. He is one of the major shareholders in the company, Laras had met him when Dedrik first took him to the office.

'Oh, my God, what else is this?' sigh Baras in the heart. Not yet noon, he had already gotten two heavy problems that had to be resolved immediately.
