Dion lit a bonfire when the day began at night, in addition to warming the atmosphere of the night that felt increasingly cold, the campfire also aims for natural lighting. Although there is already a small lamp that shines yellowish, but it feels incomplete if the campground does not light a bonfire.
"Let's make a barbequ for dinner today" said Laras while carrying the marinated meat and some other complements.
"I want sausage!" nessa shouted as she ran towards Laras.
Meanwhile, Dion and Nevan are in charge of preparing a fire and grill for the barbequ tonight.
"Remove the meat, let's just bake it," said Dion, who is also possessed by Nevan. They do camp often, and during that cooking business will be the duty of the men, while the women will prepare other things. They share tasks so well that no one feels empowered.
Meanwhile, from another tent, Ervin instead enjoyed instant noodles while looking at the scenery that made his heart envious as well as feel the pleasure and calm that had seemed to disappear from his life.
"You're beautiful, Laras. Your smile is exactly the same as I imagined it to be. Sincere and compassionate," Ervin murmured without distracting himself from the four people who were still busy with their own events.
At ten o'clock in the night, Nevan and Nessa say goodbye to sleep first. Even though they are not at home, both of them still do their habits and sleep on time. Laras also went inside, to accompany his two children until sound.
Meanwhile, Dion still survives outside. Enjoying the cold night air is one of the pleasures that only he can do at any time, given his work schedule that always takes a lot of time. That is why, he always invites Nevan and Nessa to take a vacation, when there is free time together.
However, his calmness was suddenly piqued when he accidentally saw someone from one of the neighboring tents. A familiar man, although the lighting of the night was not too bright.
"Isn't he Ervin? Is he trying to follow us here?" muttered Dion with squeaking eyes.
Dion began to take his foot forward to the man he suspected was Ervin. Really, he did not want Ervin's presence to ruin Laras' mood and their vacation.
"Ervin?" dion asked as soon as he arrived at the single tent which was not far from his tent.
The man who was about to enter the tent re-enforced his body and turned to face Dion. Ervin was quite surprised when he saw the existence of Dion in front of him. However, even so he tried to behave normally.
"Mr Dion? You're here too? Wow, what a coincidence, yes," Ervin said as he walked up to Dion and invited him to sit in front of his rental tent. It turned out that he was also quickly discovered, but had tried to hide from the sight of Dion and Laras.
"Why are you here?" Dion was fed up with pretending to be nice in front of Ervin, he no longer even legalized the ethics of talking to fellow entrepreneurs. The one in front of him now was not Ervin a businessman, but Ervin who was the ex-husband of his younger sister.
Ervin frowned, even though he knew the meaning of Dion's question, but he also did not want to be caught so soon. What's more, Dion's tone that feels less friendly, making him have to be more vigilant again.
"What do you mean, Sir? As you can see, I'm camping here" Ervin replied casually. A faint smile was seen adorning his face.
"Already, Ervin. I know your foul intentions followed us here. But, don't expect you to be able to get close to them, because until then I'll never let you back destroy my sister's life" Dion lamented. He stared hard at Ervin. His hands clenched tightly, holding back the emotions that persuaded him to deal a blow to the man who had toyed with Laras' feelings until his two nephews did not feel the affection of a father. However, it was fortunate that Dion was still sane enough to temper all his feelings of hatred.
After saying that, Dion immediately returned to his tent without hearing Ervin's reply. To him, it was enough that he gave Ervin a warning, without hearing any reason that would just be a nonsense to him.
However, his steps came to a halt when he saw Laras who was also looking at him with complicated eyes. Dion felt that he had been caught off guard, he rubbed his nape to relieve the awkwardness.
"The kids are asleep?" he asked then, approaching the woman in slow steps.
"No! I had absolutely no idea that he was here as well" Dion replied firmly. However, Laras did not budge.
"Ras-" Dion tried to grab Laras' hand, but the woman immediately walked away. Laras' gaze was still fixed on Ervin who was also still standing in his place.
"If there's someone else who's cheating on Ervin, then it's me, Ras. You certainly know that, don't you? I even hated him before he hurt you, Ras," said Dion, trying to convince Laras, if he would never cooperate with Ervin, what else to bring Laras and Ervin together again.
"I was tired, I slept first," said Laras after a long silence, he immediately turned around and returned to the tent with quick steps, without waiting for a response from Dion.
"But, Race-" Dion's speech was interrupted because Laras had already entered the tent. He exhaled a rough breath with his gaze still fixed on the entrance of the tent that was already tightly closed.
"Well, I'll go to my tent, too. Good night, Ras," said Dion, then took his foot to the single tent that was right on the side of Laras' larger tent.
...❤🩹...
Laras could not sleep at all, his encounter with Ervin made his thoughts and feelings chaotic. The night was approaching early in the morning, when Laras decided to get out of the tent. He rubbed both of his hands as the bone-piercing chill greeted.
Baras sat on a folding chair that was already available in front of the tent, he leaned his body until his head looked up at the dark night sky between the leafy leaves on it.
Thousands of stars were seen adorning the night sky, making him seem silent and dissolved in his own mind.
"There is a constellation of dipper, shaped like a kite. I can also see the constellation orion from here. Wow, that's beautiful tonight. He looks handsome with his bow."
Laras was aghast when he heard the familiar voice, quickly he stood up and turned his face towards the sound.
The deg!
His heart seemed to stop beating when his eyes clearly saw the figure who was now standing right beside him. For a while the beads of the eyes of the two had collided, until Laras first turned his eyes and threw away his face, avoiding the man's gaze.
What does it mean to imitate my words at that time? batin Laras, remembering what he said back then, often described what he saw in Ervin, as a substitute for his eyes.
"Honey, tonight I can't find the constellation? Do you want my daughter to be like before?" ervin asked still looking at Laras with a smile that never disappeared.
Actually, he came out of the tent because he wanted to do his deed in the toilet. However, on the way home, he saw Laras sitting alone outside the tent.
Baras is still silent. His hands clutched tightly onto the jacket protecting him from the cold of the air tonight.
"I'm sorry, Baby. I'm late to recognize you" said Ervin again who is now seen standing in front of Laras. He did not care, even though the woman was not interested in seeing him at all. At least, Laras could still hear his voice.
"I am a fool. How could I possibly mistakenly recognize you and trust that crazy woman?" Ervin continued to speak.
"I'm sorry for hurting you, Baby," Ervin said, with reddened eyes.
