Eventually Laras gives up on the twins' wishes. He gives Ervin a ride at the request of Nevan and Nessa. Now he was driving with Ervin by his side, while the children were sitting in the back seat.
"Will you go straight home or to the hotel first?" ervin asked after a while only the chatter of the children adorned their journey.
"I have to go straight home" answered Laras briefly.
"Well, so we split up again with Papah." Suddenly Nessa made a sound with a sluggish sigh, as if it was hard to leave Ervin.
"Tomorrow don't you have to go back to school?" Laras immediately silenced the mouth of Nessa who was about to return to whining for longer stay in the city.
"Yes, Mah. Anyway, next time we can definitely meet again Papah. Isn't that right, Pah?" Nevan who saw the sad face of Nessa also explained it.
"Yes. Papah will definitely come back to see you soon" said Ervin. He was determined to stay close to Laras and his two children at any opportunity.
"Don't promise if you can't keep it." The barrel speaks softly with a flat look.
Ervin frowned when he saw the Solas reaction. She knew, the woman must still be angry over the matter of a few years ago. Although it was not a deliberate mistake, but Ervin realized, all happened because of his stupidity that could not recognize his own wife and even trust other women.
Not long after, Laras stopped his car in the hotel parking lot.
"Thank you for the ride" Ervin said as he unfastened his seatbelt and prepared to get off.
"Well, I'm gonna pee first" Nessa said suddenly.
"Yes, just go down first so Nessa can go to the toilet," bargained Ervin who is still trying to get close to Laras.
"Come, take you to the toilet first." The barrel opened its seatbelt and prepared to descend.
They split the task, Nevan waited with Ervin while taking care of the administration of the room, while Laras and Nessa went to the toilet.
"So I can't stay here anymore?" ervin asked after he got an explanation from the hotel clerk. It turns out that Ervin's secretary had brought all Ervin's belongings and checked out of the hotel two days ago. Meanwhile, now the room conditions are full, so Ervin can no longer book a room there.
"Father just come home with us," said plain Nevan who did not know the problem between his parents. The boy just missed the father figure in his life.
"Will your mother allow it? Not a taste." Ervin breathed a tired breath. Now he's completely stranded in the land of people.
"Well, can Papah come home and not come to our house? Poor Papa doesn't have a room" Nevan asked suddenly, seeing Laras and Nessa approaching him.
Laras, who did not know the problems that occurred at the hotel, turned his attention to Ervan, as if asking for an explanation.
"Look, Ras-" Ervin began to tell what happened to him and his assistant who had already returned to Indonesia.
"If allowed, can I stay at your house for last night? Later that night I will book a ticket to Indonesia," Ervin said in a soft voice. Really, I don't know how many times he didn't get face to face in front of Laras at this meeting.
"May ya, Mah. We are still the same Papah. We still want to be with Papah." Nevan and Nessa cupped their hands together in front of their chests, begging Laras to let Ervin come home with them.
"What the hell are you doing with my kids? I don't want you to benefit them just for your own sake" Laras protested with a completely unfriendly face.
"I've never done anything to them, Laras. Even those who found me, they knew that I was his father" Ervin denied.
"They're my kids! They were never your children!" press Barrel with widened eyes and face not received.
"Our son, Baby," said softly Ervin. He did not feel angry at all even though Laras was now accusing him.
"There's my blood in their bodies too if you forget it" Ervin continued with a faint smile on his lips. A smile that somehow looks really annoying to Laras.
"You think being a father is enough to just donate semen? Then, you are just like an animal" Laras grumbled in a soft voice, though Ervin could still hear clearly.
"Eh?" Ervin was obviously surprised by Laras' speech. The soft words were like an arrow piercing right into his heart. So painful. Indeed, all this time he had not even done anything for his two children, but it was also not because of his wishes. He never even knew that he had two children with Laras.
"I'm not an irresponsible person, Laras. All this time, I never knew where they were, how I could do my duty as a father. Now, I beg of you, please give me a chance to do that to them," Ervin said at length.
Laras snorted while throwing his face away. It is not wrong what Ervin said. None of this is entirely the man's fault. There is also a share of his mistakes that never tell the whereabouts of the children to their father.
"I never even said they were your children. Why are you so confident?" Baras is still trying to deny the reality. He turned back to Ervin with a troubled heart.
"Because I trust you, Baby. And I also know my flesh and blood" Ervin said in a confident voice. Looking at Laras' back, made him want to hug the woman he so longed for. However, Ervin paused upon recalling the anger he was about to receive from Laras.
Barrel fell silent, his heart growing more and more confused. The pain and longing now coalesce into one, making a strange and uncomfortable feeling that further torments him. Getting angry? I don't know, he himself was confused to reveal it.
"Please trust me, Baby. I-i-"
"Don't call me that!" The barrel directly cuts Ervin's speech. He could no longer bear the pain every time it came from Ervin's lips. Everything is no longer the same as it used to be. and will never come back the same.
"How many times do I have to say, our relationship ended six years ago, so don't be so confident!" annoyed Laras who has increasingly paled.
"But to me our relationship is still the same, Race. I never feel like I've cut ties with you. And that will never happen" argued Ervin who also still persists with his own beliefs.
"If that's what you feel .. I'm sorry, Ras. Please, give me a chance to fix everything." Ervin walked to the front of Laras, he was quite surprised when he saw the woman's reddened eyes. It turned out that Laras was holding back tears.
"Baby-" Ervin was about to approach Laras, but the woman immediately dodged. There was a sense of emptiness in Ervin's heart as Laras continued to push his touch.
"If family relationships are too much for you, how about a friend?" haggard Ervin, just like Laras at the beginning of their marriage. The friendship that Laras also offered to Ervin at that time.
Laras is silent, as if brought back to his memories with Ervin at the beginning of the marriage. But now everything is turning around. If he used to be the one who had to work hard to conquer his heart Ervin. Now, it was Ervin who had to beg him for an apology.
Am I overreacting? Why do I feel like I'm the bad guy now?
