Denis POV
I was so shocked to find out that Sisil had been kidnapped by the criminals. I'm so mad. I want to blame Alex. Because of his presence all this happened. But if I remember that it was me and bang Theo who brought Alex into this house, the anger subsided. I am the one guilty here for being negligent so that Sisil's safety is in danger.
I should have predicted this when there was an attack on Alex last night. I'm breathless. Didn't expect this to happen.
Cecile. Spoiled girl favorite daughter bang Theo. The one who picked me up from the streets. A person who does not care where I come from but easily accepts me to live in his house. He never asked me in any detail about me. Who I am, who my family is, where I come from, it doesn't matter to him. He didn't put any prejudice on me. I may be a criminal or a fraud.
The man is noble-hearted. He helped me with no strings attached. His wife too. Fani has a high social spirit. As a doctor, he was used to helping people. Practicing his knowledge sincerely. They are the perfect couple.
Even when bang Theo told me to stay at his house, Mbak Fani did not protest at all. He even said that he felt happy that there were many people in his house. So he doesn't feel lonely. There was Mang Jana and his wife. Sometimes Mang Jana children also come and stay there. Besides them, there is also Lukman. Officer bang Theo in workshop.
He's still a distant relative of Fani. He no longer has a father. His mother was just an ordinary housewife who had no income. His father died when he was sitting in Junior High School. Since then she has lived with the family of bang Theo. The school is funded by Bang Theo. His son is also diligent and good at carrying himself. After school he came to the workshop and learned a job in the workshop. So when he graduated High School he immediately worked in bang Theo. It was Lukman's story that bang Theo told me.
While me. Bang Theo doesn't know anything about me. He didn't know me before. He asked for my identity card once. I'm just saying that everything's gone because someone picked me up. And I still have it. I kept it so that no one would know. I don't want anyone to know my true identity. Bang Theo never took issue with that. He once asked about my family. I told you that I no longer have a family.
That is the truth. I am like a man who has no one in this world. No one cares about me. I've been away from home for a year, but no one seems to feel lost at all. No one's looking for me. Especially missed me. Maybe to my family, I was a dead child. Maybe they were happy with my departure.
I also did not attempt to contact my family or friends. Let me escape my past. If God wills, maybe someday I will be reunited with them again.
Actually, I was on my way to my former papa employee's house in Solo. I ran away from home because of a problem that made me so sick. The former papa officer was a man I've known since I was a kid. He loved me so much because he was the one who took care of me. He stopped working because he was old and felt unable to work as well as when he was young. I think that place is safest. No one will look for me in that place.
But destiny says something else. It was fate that brought me together with bang Theo. My bike suddenly broke down and bang Theo workshop was the closest to my position. He helped. He offered me a place to live and a job. At first I was very surprised. Didn't expect there to be such a good person in the world. I also thought he was good at first. But it turns out my guess was wrong. He's very kind. Until I could be here all this time. I feel comfortable here. Moreover, no one will know me here.
But now Theo's bang family is in trouble. Although the matter could be solved by handing over Alex instead, I felt that the matter would not be that easy. I don't know how the criminals are. If it is true that they are the ones making a mess in the workshop, I can gauge their abilities. But what if it turns out my guess was wrong. Or worse if it turns out that the conspiracy is more than four people I have known.
What if they break their promise. They're criminals. People who cannot be trusted. I have to anticipate that possibility. I don't know Alex's abilities either. His body is heavy. But twice attacked by criminals, twice he fell. Even I'm the one who has to go to great lengths against the criminal. I can't pin my hopes on him if I'm attacked by a herd of thugs.
I can't just hand Alex over for them to kill. Yep. Of course they're going to kill Alex. Because that is their main purpose. After failing their first assassination attempt, they certainly did not want the target to be released again.
Bang Theo said he would follow me to watch from a distance. But I told him to keep his distance so as not to get too close. I asked him to leave the house at least half an hour from when I left. I don't want that until the criminal finds out we're being stalked. It could endanger Sisil's safety.
Alex was behind me and felt his body clinging to my body. His hand held the side of the jacket I was wearing. I'm really uncomfortable actually. But I ignored it because now my main goal is to find Sisil as soon as possible.
I also feel uncomfortable having to sleep in one room with him. Moreover, last night he slept on the same bed as me. It really makes me feel uneasy. If only he had known who I was, he probably wouldn't have done that. Not even bang Theo knows who I really am. So just by telling Alex to sleep in one room with me. I am not of the same gender as them. I'm not a man. I'm a 20-year-old woman.
If only bang Theo saw my ID card. There's clearly stamped. My name is Denisha Nathania Adiwijaya. And I am a woman.
Yep. Thas right. It's just that everyone denies me a man. Looking at my posture and my appearance. No one denied me a woman. I also let the mistake go. I really don't want to be known by anyone. I have no intention of deceiving anyone. No one asked me if I was a boy or a girl.
Plus I work in a workshop. And also my martial skills further accentuated my masculine side. I sometimes feel guilty too if there is a girl trying to get close to me. That's why I avoid interaction with other people, especially women. Let them consider me a man. I feel safe in that assumption.
Except when I have to be in one room with Alex. I don't know why I feel groggy. This time I was not close to a man. I used to have a boy friend. At my karate training ground are also many men and I'm used to being considered a man. Rarely does anyone know I'm a girl. Except my schoolmate. Where I went to college most thought I was a boy.
Since childhood I have grown up to be a brave and tomboyish child. My friends call me Denis or Nathan. Typical name of guy. They made fun of me at first. But then the name stuck with me. Almost all my friends call me that.
At home I was called with a very girly and spoiled call. Icha. My mom and my closest family used to call me Icha. Besides, no one calls me that. Even since more than a year ago.
Outside the house Denis' name is getting attached. Almost no one knows my real name but the one who knows my origin.
