Secret Denis

Secret Denis
Fourteen

The roar of the river flow like a symphony of song, flowing accompanied by the rustling of leaves that tickled the sweep of the wind gushed from the bottom of the valley so deep. The earthy chirping of birds adds to the boisterous chorus of this nature. The sound of tree locusts as if without pause and as if it does not need a breath to be despised. As the dim sun dusk that hides behind the lush trees and the shadow of nature that is increasingly pitch black.

The golden color on the horizon marks the end of the solar task for today. Soon it will change with night. That is how nature alternately performs the task of the creator without any rejection at all.

A figure of a body lying on the bamboo floor squirmed slowly. His eyes closed. Trying to receive the light that barged into his retina. The ringisan on his face was followed by a soft hiss from his mouth. Some of the scars on his face are still very noticeable. The clothes he was wearing were still filled with blood stains that began to dry up.

Slowly he lifted his body. Stacking on his left elbow, he held his head up. His eyes narrowed scanning the place where he was.

A man sitting cross-legged in front of her was the first thing she saw. The man in all black clothes and long hair tied up originally above his head.

Relief was evident from the look in his eyes when he saw the figure lying before him was beginning to wake up.

"Drink," he thrust a glass of murky water before the newly awakened figure.

He took the glass from the man's hand. Gurgle it slowly with hands that still need to be strengthened. The sweet taste of palm sugar mixed with the herb feels refreshing instantly. It was as if he had a power supply flowing through the drink.

"Thank you" he said after finishing the liquid in the glass. Keep the glass in front of him and look at the man who is believed to be his helper.

Occupying himself and leaning against the bamboo wall that is unable to withstand the wind from the outside that enters through the cracks. His eyes stared questioningly at the person dressed in all black.

"Where am I?" he asked while circulating his gaze in a dim room under the light of an oil lamp. His eyes are accustomed to seeing under the incandescent lights are forced to adjust in a place that is less light.

"You're in my hut. I'm Darman. What's yourname?" ask a man who is over 60 years old.

"I'm Denis."

"Do you remember who you are, son?" The guy named Darman sounded happy.

"Of course I remember."

"You remember what happened to you before?"

Denis silent. He remembered what he had experienced so he was in this place. Suddenly he remembered a gun. Denis jerks.

"Alex!" the strangulation without realizing. Shown as the body floated down into the abyss with eyes fixed on it.

"Is that guy Alex?" Darman pointed to another figure lying not far from where Denis was. His eyes circulated to the place the man had pointed to. Denis stunned. There, in the other corner of the not-so-wide room, was another figure lying helplessly.

Withstanding the pain she felt, Denis dragged her body closer to the lying body. In the dimness of the oil lamp light, he could faintly see the still frozen face.

That's Alex. Even in minimal light, he's convinced it's Alex. His body was covered in a long, thin cloth. It is very unlikely that the cloth can protect the body from exposure to the cold that began to bite the skin.

Denis turned to a man named Darman. The questioning gaze he glides to the face that appears in dimness.

"There was a gunshot wound to his right chest. I'm trying to get the bullet out. But I don't know if he'll survive or not under these circumstances." the man's voice shrank. As if there was no hope in his words.

Denis doesn't know how the man pulled a bullet out of Alex's chest. It should be done by an expert doctor in the operating room. With what tools did he pull that thing out. With what he treated the wound. Denis can't think about it. It seems that man is an ordinary man.

He stared at Alex's stiffened body. Darman flicked the cloth that covered Alex's body to the extent of his neck. Turns out he's bare-chested. There's a potion stuck to his left chest. Perhaps the potion covered the scar the bullet was ejected from inside the man's chest.

His chest which field seemed to move down slowly. Signifies that there is still life in that helpless body.

"Can't we take him to the hospital?" ask Denis. His eyes were still focused on Alex's face which looked very pale.

Darman chuckled softly.

"How is it?" Ask. "You don't know where we are. It's in the valley. It's very difficult to get to a flat area." he explained. Denis stunned. He remembered when he stood in the brink. Looking down towards the valley covered in thin fog even when the day is up. At that moment he imagined that the abyss must be very deep.

And now he's in it.

"I don't know how to get your body up there by myself. Ii'm sorry. This is all I can do to help you." Denis' words made him realize how lucky he was that there were still people to help him. Given the condition of the place it seems unlikely there will be anyone helping him down here.

This place is very far from the settlement. If he died and rotted here, no one would find him.

Tacit. He looked back at Alex, then escaped his gaze to Darman.

Darman leaned his body against a bamboo wall at Alex's feet. The light of a very small lamp like a candlelight slightly disturbed the vision of Denis who continued to pay attention to the man.

"I couldn't help but hear the sound of the gun this morning" he began his story. "It was on the slope there to go to the ground. I used to go upstairs to buy rice every few days, sell the catch of fish in the village and exchange it for rice.."

"Does my father live here?" Denis cut in curious.

"Yes. I've been living here for a year."

"How come? Stay here alone?"

Darman laughed.

"That's how." the man answered briefly. Like not wanting to extend the conversation about his personal life. Denis seems to understand that. She's speechless. He stretched out his body and closed his eyes. The incident happened to her and Alex.

In fact he could already master his fights with those criminals. Especially when he saw bang Theo had managed to take Sisil away from the place, Denis increasingly free to face the four men with Alex.

Alex is also martial arts. Over and over again Alex makes his opponent desperate and has to feel his big fist.

A black-colored car suddenly came and took out two burly people. They immediately approached the battle site. Take over the criminals Alex and Denis are dealing with. Killing them both blindly and mercilessly.

Denis and Alex, who have been draining since then against the criminals, can not match two burly men who have extraordinary energy. Lacing and unassailable kicks landed on Denis's body and head. And so is Alex. The villains laughed when they saw Denis and Alex finally collapsing helplessly.

Denis set his breath. His eyes were almost closed and sore as fluid flowed into the corners of his eyes.

Someone got out of the car and approached the man who was holding Denis and Alex.

"Omm?" on the sidelines of his consciousness that was about to disappear, Alex exclaimed softly. Surprised and confused to see a familiar person among the criminals.

Alex is trying to get up. With a slightly dazed body he tried to approach the man who had just got off the car. Looks like the guy was the boss of the guys that were raking Denis and Alex.

The man held a gun in his right hand. His eyes were fixed on Alex.

"So who planned all this?" the sound of Alex. Not because of fear of death. But because he really did not believe the reality he just knew.

The man grinned. Raising his hand straightened the gun to Alex.

"Why om?" Alex wants to solve his curiosity. Even if he had to meet his current death, he should at least know why that man so desperately wanted his death. His eyes were staring at the man he trusted so much. Sweat drops mixed with blood flow made his eyes feel sore and blurred his vision. But he was still clear enough to see who the man who was now pointing a gun at was.

"Because you're supposed to die, Alex." The man slowly approached Alex. With the rest of the energy Alex stepped back. Keeping a distance from the man who was casting his hateful gaze at him.

"You must die!" a growl from the man's mouth followed the sound of an eruption from the muzzle of the firearm he was holding. Alex's body bounced back, towards the gaping chasm waiting for his body to fall to the bottom.

Denis gasps. He held the screech out of his mouth. Clenching his lips that wanted to call out the name of the man clearly before his eyes, floated down into the abyss. Body's limp. Unable to see the atrocities he first witnessed for real.

The men turned towards Denis who had fallen on his knees. Stare at the spot where Alex's body disappeared. The sound of falling objects sounded from the direction of the ravine. Looks like Alex's body didn't stop right down there. I don't know how many meters deep the abyss is. Denis couldn't imagine it.

When one of the men pulled his shirt, Denis couldn't fight anymore. Aside from having his strength drained away, he was still shocked by what he had just witnessed.

Several blows he felt before he finally lost consciousness. His body felt floating and then darkness accompanied him.
