Secret Denis

Secret Denis
Sixty Six

A woman who is over half a century old with her very awake appearance and haughty style. Sitting in an oversized chair in his very comfortable office.

A man stood before him very politely showing where his status was before the old woman.

" Is he better?"

"I see that. Doctor Irwan has also checked it and he says he's better."

"Did Irwan's doctor say when he could have surgery?"

"Currently can't. Maybe a few days ahead. He just got a cut on his shoulder and better wait for it to heal."

"Is that influential? Better not delay. I don't want to until my plan fails." The old woman opened her eyes a sign of dislike for the reason given by her men.

"I want to meet him." Said later.

"Good."

The man nodded his head obediently, not wanting to argue anymore. He quickly brought the wheelchair closer to the woman. Beware of the woman riding on her wheelchair and being immediately pushed by the man out of her study.

The goal is a room that is quite far from the work space they just left. The breadth of the house makes the distance between the rooms quite time-consuming.

A man was standing guard in front of the room. He nodded respectfully towards the old woman. The door was opened before the woman told her to.

The woman wore a different expression when entering the room. Someone was standing on the side of the iron window.

"Icha, you haven't eaten yet?" His eyes glanced at the still intact food on the table.

The guy called Icha is none other than Denis. He turned his head towards the old woman who had just entered the room he had occupied since last night.

"Eat. Didn't you just get well? The doctor also told Grandma to keep an eye on your diet."

The old woman was Aryanti, mother of Rania and grandmother of Denis.

Denis stared coldly at the woman.

"Say what the lady wants from me?" The question is cynical. His eyes on the woman.

"Come baby. Don't you miss your grandmother? Grandma is also very confused with you. One year later you disappeared. That's a long time, isn't it?"

"But it certainly won't be enough to make you feel bad about me, will it?"

"Don't talk like that. Grandma is so sorry for everything Grandma did to you in the past. But believe me, whatever grandma does, it's for your own good. It's just that you've misunderstood everything Grandma did. You always think negatively about grandma." The woman spoke softly, but her eyes fell on Denis's face.

"Why are you sorry? Isn't that what you're supposed to do to me."

"Icha.."

"Dennis."

"Alright, Denis. Speak normally to my grandmother. I'm your grandmother. You are my grandson. That's how it's supposed to be."

"When did I become your grandchild?"

"Darling, forgive the grandmother who has always been so bad to you. But from now on, you'll get everything you want. Your rights will be given by Grandma. Stay in this house. Ask grandma anything. Grandma's gonna give it all away."

Denis smiled obliquely.

"And what reward should I give you?"

The woman sighed.

"It looks like you don't want to make small talk with grandma. Alright. Grandma will tell you frankly." Aryanti paused her words. Take a deep breath before saying what he wants to say.

"Since your departure, Grandma's health has been disrupted. Grandma realized grandma's mistake to you. Grandma thought, maybe it is karma for what grandma did to you. Grandma took it patiently and grandma kept trying to find you to apologize. But grandma's search was futile."

The woman regulated her breathing which began to sting. Either because of his disease or because of his emotions that began to stifle his chest.

"Doctors sentence grandma to kidney failure. Initially it can still be treated, but now, doctors recommend that grandmothers look for the right donor for the kidneys. And, after looking at your medical records, the doctor concluded that you're the one who's the perfect kidney donor for grandma." There was no doubt when he said that.

Denis stunned. Staring at the old woman before him in disbelief. So this is what the woman meant by bringing herself into this house? It turned out that there was not the slightest affection from the woman for him. The woman just wanted to take something from her.

"Grandma please Denis, be a donor to grandma. And you will get the big name Adiwijaya behind you. You'll get your family. You will also get any inheritance you want. Homes, companies. Everything will be yours."

"Why don't you ask your grandchildren?"

"You're the granddaughter of the grandmother, Denis."

"You have two favorite grandchildren if I'm not mistaken."

"Only you are suitable for this donor. Maybe God wants to show that you are the true heir of Adiwijaya."

Denis shook his head.

"How's Denis? You want to give your kidney to grandma?"

"Honored lady, you once said that I was a useless child.."

"Grandmother admitted wrong.."

"And I do not deserve to live in this world let alone bear the great name of the honorable Adiwijaya.."

"Grandmother unplug those words.."

"So I don't care if you want my kidney or my life. Please do whatever you want to do."

"Dennis. Did ya? That means you allowed Grandma to take your kidney?" The woman's face was shining. Again Denis moved his head. I was amazed by the old woman's behavior.

"Mother!! What did your words mean just now?"

A screech from the door made Aryanti and Denis turn towards the source of the sound.

Rania stood on the doorstep with her eyes wide open. His body shook with anger.

"Rania?"

Rania moved her legs with a huff towards Aryanti.

"Mother wants to take Icha's kidney? Is it really mom?"

"Rania, mom.."

"Why would you think to do that to my daughter? Hasn't all of mom's bad treatment been enough to her all this time? I think you really regret what you did. Apparently it's just to cover up the real mother's intentions." Rania's voice filled the entire room where she stood fiercely against her mother's eyes. Her heart was very sick knowing the fact that her mother wanted Denis' kidney for her.

"Why mother never once could love me sincerely. I can't accept my daughter so lovingly. Why ma'am?" Rania screamed with tears.

"You can't accept him either because he's the son of that depraved man right? From a man who doesn't even want to be in this world? You ignored him. You're her real mother. Do you think I can accept him when you can't accept him?" Aryanti replied no less loudly than her daughter's voice. His hands repeatedly pointed towards Rania and Denis alternately.

Where he stood, Denis almost lost his powers. His body felt limp and his heart throbbed in pain. There was a sense of heat within his eyelids. His hand gripped the iron trellis of the room window near where he stood. Holding back so that he could still stand looking at the heated debate between two women of different ages.

"I love my daughter, Mom. Only my selfishness has drowned my dear feelings for her. Beyond all that, she is still my son, whom I have borne for nine months and I gave birth to her at the risk of my life. I just hate his father, not him." Rania's cry could not be contained anymore.

"Yes. And I am the one who conceived and gave birth to you. You should be filial to me. Not constantly against me. Now show me your service. Let him give me his kidney. He wouldn't die just for giving me one kidney. He didn't even die when his own father shot him. Aren't we?"

Aryanti's words were like lightning striking right in Denis' head. Denis was stunned with his body riveted but believe me, he seemed to have lost his footing. His heart seemed to be torn from its place at this moment.

"What do you mean, madam?" Denis's voice growled. Hardly escaped his throat.

"Don't listen to her words, baby." Rania approached Denis with wide steps. But Denis' hand gesture signaled him to stop, making him stall his steps. His misty eyes stared at his daughter's regret.

"What I'm saying is a reality you have to accept. Your father's name is Bhishma, the same man who shot you. Yeah, that's your dad's asshole. Now do you understand why we can't accept it and neither can you? You should know that, if it wasn't for this family who had cared for and raised you, there would be no way for you to exist in this world."

"Stop mom!! What did mom say? Those words could have come out of my mouth. I was really disappointed with Mom. I hate mom!!" Rania shrieked those words. Along with that his body was hollow, powerless to withstand the weight of the feeling that was so heavy he felt.

A sturdy hand restrained Rania's body from behind. Andres swiftly hugged his wife's body. His eyes were staring at his mother-in-law.

"You don't deserve the affection of a princess like Rania. I won't let him set foot in this house, even if you die." He pressed his words in a snarl.

With one move he carried the frail body of his helpless wife in a cry. He quickly walked out of the room.

While Alex who had been outside the room with Andres from the beginning, immediately entered and pulled Denis' body as weak as Rania. He was so shocked to accept the fact that so hit his soul. There were no words spoken from his lips that trembled. He didn't resist in the least when Alex took him out of the house. Put it in his car and immediately passed from inside the magnificent house.
