New Friends

"Hi, we meet again."

Alia was flabbergasted when she saw that Kevin was waiting for her in front of the employee's door.

"Kevin? What are you doing here?" ask Alia astonished. He glanced at the employee door behind him, leaving little open space to watch the clock. It was late and the cafe was closed an hour ago. He and several other workers just finished cleaning up and preparing for the needs for tomorrow.

Kevin who realized the direction of Alia's gaze widened his smile. "I've been waiting for you since the cafe closed. I want to take you home."

Alia scratched her head awkwardly. He was not happy to refuse when Kevin said he had been waiting for him since an hour ago.

"Sir Aaal!"

Alia reflex looked back. Along with that screaming voice, the doors of the employees opened wide. Risa appeared there with the look of her always carefree face. "Because Alia's sister wasn't delivered tonight. Let's go on hammock-ups!"

Risa closed her mouth while glaring. When he lowered his hand, he saw his mischievous smile. "Ahem.. sorry to interrupt."

Alia was just about to give an explanation before Risa raised both of her hands forward, forming a pose pushing the air. "Sir Alia shut up first. Hey, handsome brother over there! Take care of my Ali sister properly, yes... I've already blessed you," he shouted.

"It's late, Risa. Don't yell."

Some of Alia's coworkers came out with sour faces. But everything is compact expression is the same as Risa earlier when looking at the scenery in front of her. "Ahems... Come Risa. We better not interfere."

One of the other young women grabbed Risa's arm and dragged her away. His other friends followed while shaking their heads. Especially when Risa still had time to wave her hand and give her thumbs up.

Alia was panicking a bit. He did not want to be left alone with Kevin, let alone have to go home with the man. But he couldn't just leave her.

"Pulse... Kevin, sorry. But I'll go with them. So-so"

"Kevin, you're really here."

Alia and Kevin both turned to the door again. There Wilda was smiling brightly. He held his small bag as he walked closer.

"Ah, thank goodness. I guess you'll object to my request" said Wilda, impressed as a stale base.

In response, Kevin shook his head with a friendly smile. "Of course not. I am happy to have this task. Previously, Alia had already rejected the offer to be delivered home."

Alia stared alternately between Kevin and Wilda. The look on his face worsened when he realized the deal that the two people in front of him had made.

"Alia is so. I hope you can get closer after this. Take good care of him, Kevin, '" said Wilda.

"Th-don't. I can mesh-"

"Sstt... You shut up Al. Just follow my orders this time, "cut Wilda while sticking a finger on her lips. "Now, you're coming with Kevin or I'm going to get mad this time."

Alia scratched her unscratchy head. She felt like a girl forced to date by her parents' chosen man. There was absolutely no room for him to escape.

"Come, we'll be home soon, Alia." Kevin with his friendly smile stepped up first. He will not pass this opportunity or Alia could have given another reason that makes him not want to be delivered.

However, that's a little overrated. Moreover, Alia had no reason to refrain from the push Wilda who was too eager to drive him to the door of a car. Kevin gladly opened the car door and closed it as best he could when Alia who was under Willa's coercion had gone inside.

"Alia's safety depends on you, Kevin. I believe you can be responsible for that." Wilda changed her face to be sharp and serious, as if she was a moment ago a different person.

Kevin nodded. "I promise."

Wilda did not comment any more and let Kevin start getting in the car. Inside, Alia simply smiled awkwardly and glanced more at the window. Kevin also did not speak when the car they were driving began to go slowly.

Alia had thought from the beginning not to open any conversation. He stared at the window all the way.

A word from Kevin made Alia turn her head and frown. "Sorry for what?"

Kevin glanced and smiled faintly. His face showed guilt. "Do you remember the first time we met? You were dropping off an order at my desk, then suddenly scolding the parent who was yelling at his son at the next table."

Alia was silent for a moment, then looked up, trying to remember. "Ah, yes. In retrospect, his face was sad and ashamed."

"My face is like that?"

Alia turned her head and gave a strange look. "The face of the boy."

Kevin smiled as he cleared a small throat. Sometimes Alia was astonished and wondered in her heart, if maybe this man in front of her did have a hobby of smiling.

"You were so cool back then. I who sat near them and listened from the beginning did not even do anything. But you act bravely even though it might actually affect your job. The parents of the child even made a complaint to Miss Wilda directly. Lucky he defended you at that time," said Kevin.

Alia gave a small nod, giving no additional comment. He was thinking about the relationship between the incident and the apology.

"Since that incident, I've been trying to find out about you. Name, age, hours of work, to your home address. But you don't worry, I swear I didn't mean anything bad." Kevin glanced at it with a bit of worry. He was afraid that Alia would get angry and choose to get out of the car when she knew what she was doing the last few moments.

However, Alia was just staring ahead. He only realized that the path they took was in accordance with his address, while Kevin had not asked him anything since. He said nothing and just nodded.

"Alia. uh, I mean, ah no. It's just, you don't seem to like it when I call your name directly like this." Kevin now changed his expression to a little sad.

Alia shrugged and leaned back in her chair. Seeing Kevin's attitude since then that tends to be very careful makes Alia can feel a little comfortable. "We've never known properly before. I only found out your name when my friend told me last week. And you suddenly called my name this afternoon. Who wouldn't be disturbed?"

Hearing that answer, Kevin immediately misbehaved. "Ah, then sorry. I didn't know it would bother you."

Alia shakes. "Now you can relax. I don't think about it anymore. I'm doing the same thing anyway, right?"

"That's not the same as what I've done. If so, can we repeat the introduction in a better way?" ask Kevin quickly. His face was slightly red.

Alia nodded. "alright. I started first. My name is Alia Redalia. Many call me Alia or Al."

"I'm Kevin. Kevin Reegan's. Nice to meet you, Al," Kevin replied with a big smile.

Alia stared at Kevin's enthusiastic expression before starting to chuckle. Not at all aware that Kevin was not focused on driving and was stunned when he noticed.

"Sugary."

Alia finished laughing and turned to Kevin. "Did you say something?"

Kevin shook his head lightly. Focus again on the streets that are quieter than during the day. "No. Only, just this time I saw you laughing like that. You rarely even smile."

The corner of Alia's lips expanded. "In that case, from now on you might be able to see me smile more. The next stage after the introduction is friendship. Want to be my friend?"

Kevin was surprised. "Seriously can?"

"Why not? I don't mind adding friends. Or you don't want to be a tem-"

"You!" cut Kevin fast. "Let's be friends!"

Alia nodded and smiled slightly until Kevin hesitantly said something no less important.

"Then can you unblock my number?"
