Alia placed a plate containing two slices of toast and pushed a glass of milk on Carla. He took a loaf of bread and left the kitchen. Even though I saw Daniel go, it does not mean that Alia is relieved to be in the kitchen like this. No one can guarantee the sudden appearance of Daniel like two days ago.
His bad emotions make Alia more want to lock herself in the room, even though she does not know what to do all day.
Carla bites her bread, watching Alia. It was almost exactly the same as Daniel did. Throughout making Carla breakfast, Alia kept staring at the kitchen door uneasily.
A mischievous intention that appeared suddenly in the head made Carla bring a plate of bread and milk after Alia. "Wait!"
Alia. Her soft smile grew as she faced Carla. In any case, Alia still could not ignore the children just like that. "What's wrong? Do you need anything else?"
Carla clucked in annoyance and threw her face away. "You look at me like you're staring at a child."
"But I'm not wrong. You are a child" Alia said. "You don't like to be considered a child?"
Carla did not answer and walked ahead of Alia, climbing the stairs one by one. "I'm coming to your room."
Alia looked at Carla's back which kept going up. He nodded slowly while smiling a little. Carla was dodging the question. Usually the girl always balked at every thing that she did not agree with. Carla's silence means that she doesn't have a problem with that.
"I'll lock the door and leave the key here." Alia closed the door as soon as she reached her room.
Carla did not reply, just continued walking towards the balcony. The sun is rising. There is a small section on the balcony that is not exposed to the heat of the sun. Carla sat there and put the plate and the glass down, and began to eat.
Before long, Alia was already sitting next to Carla. Pensively staring at the top of the pine tree with a bright blue sky.
"Aren't you mad at me?" Carla suddenly asked after they had stayed quiet for quite a while.
"Why should I be mad at you?" Alia asked again.
Carla's pulling a shoulder. "Could it be because I forced you to meet Brother Daniel last night?"
Alia stared inexplicably.
"You and Brother Daniel are fighting, right? Don't you blame me for making you come to Brother Daniel and end up like this?" Carla breathed a tired sigh. "Don't ask me where I know your quarrels from."
Alia smiled wryly. It's easy to make such precise conclusions by anyone. "It's not because of you. Our problems are caused by more complex things."
"Sister Daniel expressed his love for you?" guess Carla casually.
This time Alia looked worriedly with widened eyes. He can understand Carla's previous guess because it looks clear. But this problem? Carla guesses very precisely because the topic is certainly very sensitive as well.
"Why do you know where?"
Carla looked at Alia like she was looking at the strangest person. "It's just a fool who wasn't aware of the way Brother Daniel looked at you all along. You're one of them."
Alia gulps. "Does that mean Riki and the others know too?"
"Eitherway. But they should be aware because they're a little smarter than you" Carla replied. He finished the last piece of bread.
The statement made the dizziness again overshadowed Alia's head. He held his head, cursing his naivety that considered Daniel's tender purpose because of their brotherly relationship.
"Other than that, what else did Brother Daniel do?" Carla wiggled her legs, cuddling the half-glass of milk. He then looked at Alia with a mischievous smile. His fingers touched his lips. "Did he do this?"
Alia held her breath, she looked at Carla in horror. Afraid that Carla was actually there last night. "W-what do you mean?"
"I mean, if you're just fighting over Brother Daniel's statement of feeling, you might still be able to discuss this calmly and coldly." Carla smiled obliquely. From Alia's frantic response, her guess may be correct. "Unless Daniel does something more. That would explain your attitude that is like avoiding it. So, did Daniel kiss you? Or holding-"
"Stop, don't go on. No child talks about this." Alia interrupted quickly. He did not want his mind back to the scene again.
Carla laughed dryly, her face flat. "You may not know. But I'm quite experienced about it."
That speech made Alia stunned. It doesn't dare to guess anything, but this may be related to Carla's past.
"Do you still feel hard to share it with me?" Alia asked me softly.
Carla straightened her body, staring at Alia flatly. He did not immediately answer, his eyes were now fixated on the sunlight that was getting away from his legs.
"I'm always ready to talk about this with anyone at any time. I don't even care about how others react after hearing my story. They can be free to feel disgusted, free to stay away. Whatever. I always talk anyway I want to" Carla said at the end.
He did say so, but his chest felt pain. Others could be free to stay away from her, but imagining Alia doing that could not calm her down. Carla and Alia both like to annoy each other. It would be difficult if suddenly one of them chose to stay away. That's why Carla considered this a long time ago.
This time, he was afraid of being left out. Carla doesn't care. However, now he was worried about Alia's response in the future.
"I used to work in prostitution." Carla glanced at Alia.
The woman was obviously very surprised. His black round eyes widened. His mouth was open, but no words came out of it.
"I was seven when it started. I was there three years. Serving the depraved and the insane" Carla continued. "My parents? I don't know. I've been living in an orphanage since I was a baby. The continuation is very funny. At that time the home was in crisis. Need a reduction in the mouth to be fed in order to survive. Therefore, the head of the parlour does not take care and pay proper attention to everyone who wants to adopt the children of the orphanage."
Carla continued to tell the story while turning her face away from Alia. He looked ahead, unlike his usual self. Every time Carla tells this, she always wants to pay attention to the expression her interlocutor shows. But if it's Alia, Carla can't seem to see her surprised face. He was afraid to see the expression he showed. Is it after this that Alia will immediately walk away from him with a look of disdain?
Those three years were hell for him. The deepest chasm that leads him to a hatred of his already dirty self. Of course Carla had a period of wanting to give up and end her life. However, he cannot. There are a lot of kids his age who committed suicide. Starting from banging his head on the wall to biting his own tongue.
For Carla, it was much more painful to see their deaths only bring futility. Rather than feeling dirty and hateful, he holds more grudges. He has seen the death of other children have no impact on their condition other than like unused goods. Carla wants to be free, but not by death. He wants to be free and free from this madness completely.
"My principles were only one. I'll lose if I die. Because only with life, the path and the hope will continue to exist." Carla laughs in a smile.
Alia kept quiet throughout this conversation.
"I stick with that principle, always trying to find a loophole. I was ten when Brother Daniel came there. Buy it at a fantastic price. Haha, that was very surprising. I am the jewel of that hell. Platinum blonde hair and bright blue eyes are among the customers' favorites." Carla raised her head, staring up.
"I thought Brother Daniel was just another lunatic who wanted a little whore like me. It was like seeing an opportunity there. I was released at a fantastic price" Carla added. "That seems to be just a misunderstanding. Brother Daniel really saved me, took me to rehab."
Carla looked slowly. Alia was still with her face back. Even more pale.
"Sister Daniel cooperated with local security and subdued the prostitution. Obviously, right, hiring a child in that horrible place is illegal. It's a little hard because that crazy woman has a powerful man behind her. But Brother Daniel finished it all and took the other children to the same rehabilitation place." Carla sighed slowly. Resist disappointment and fear. "I went out from the rehab and tried to benefit Brother Daniel to repay his services. That's why I'm studying hard."
"And, like the beginning, I'm experienced. I've done it before"
"Have your story there, Carla." Alia cut. Talking for the first time since Carla started telling stories.
Carla looks. A feeling of tightness squeezed his chest. Alia's gaze at him was sharp, piercing Carla's entire arrogance.
"Your vision is quite once and does not need to be repeated again" added Alia.
Carla pulled her knees, hugging her blankly. Ah, he had prepared this before. Alia's reaction was loud, Carla was expecting it. For someone with such innocence, Carla's story must have been terrifying. Carla felt a lump of emptiness in her heart.
After this, Alia should ask for some time for her to rest on her own. Tomorrow, he will be horrified every time he meets Carla.
"Carla," call Alia.
Carla just buzzed an obscure word, preparing the heart to actually leave.
"May I hug you?"
Carla's head turned quickly. Now her surprised expression was the same as Alia just a moment ago. He was stunned to see Alia's hardened expression soften. Her eyes were teary, staring at Carla as if she was about to cry.
"W-what?"
"I can hold you, yeah." Alia changed her words. He got up and pulled Carla into a tight hold. "How can a little girl like you be this strong?"
Alia started sobbing.
Carla herself was still shocked. This was not in accordance with his guess. And what is this? Why is Alia crying? He should be emotional here.
Warm feelings reappear. Carla felt such great relief. Slowly, tears flowed down her cheeks as well. He himself was astonished. Even when Daniel saved her, she never cried. Carla had already promised to become a stronger girl and be able to stand up for herself.
However, Alia suddenly appeared and dwarfed him. Not to make him inferior, but remind him of his true self. Alia makes Carla feel comfortable getting all her warm treatment.
Is this what it feels like to be a dear one?
Carla put her chin on Alia's shoulder, starting to close her eyes. Feel the comfort and relief. He hurriedly wiped away his tears as Alia rubbed her hair.
"Thank you for telling me. After this, you don't have to remember that anymore." Alia took off her embrace, looking at Carla's slightly red eyes. "Fill the rest of your life with fun things."
Carla put her finger together in doubt. "Those fun things, can you make me a strawberry cupcake again?"
Alia smiled as she shrunk her nose. "I'll make a lot of it until you never want to eat that cake again for the rest of your life."
Carla smiled slightly, imagining the mountain of cupcakes that filled the library room.
"You're so much sweeter when you smile like that. Usually this face only continues to give teasing and condescending gaze." Alia pinched slowly on both of Carla's cheeks.
Carla immediately revolted, trying to hide her face. "Whisper, you."
Alia smiled warmly. He lowered his head, feeling guilty. "But probably not anywhere near this. If I keep fighting with Daniel like this. Let alone making cakes, going to the kitchen alone might not."
Carla was whining. The cupcake he had imagined disappeared instantly, making him dongkol. "Don't you have a way to make up with her?"
"Not until she takes away her feelings for me." Alia lowered her head, but then looked up again with the idea in her eyes. "Do you know someone who can make Daniel like him? Ah, first of all. That woman should like Daniel first."
Carla held her chin, thinking about the person in question. His face became serious for a moment. "You know, it's a coincidence. But the woman was already very prepared and was in this city as well. He's a fellow scholarship boy named Daniel who likes him. Very strong chasing after Brother Daniel first."
"Can we make their dating meeting?" Alia was excited.
Carka seemed to think, then then nodded. "I don't really like this woman, but it's worth a try."
