Daniel opens the car door for Alia without saying anything. Until he gets into the car and runs it, Daniel doesn't talk either.
"You're actually gonna drive?" ask Alia after a while. If there were only the two of them, Alia would be the one to talk more than usual. Instead of Daniel being more silent.
"Do you still need to ask even though we have come out of the gate like this?" daniel sarcas replied without looking.
Alia immediately scowled, it felt like she wanted to hit her sister's head. What's wrong with making small talk?
"You're, right, very busy. Wouldn't it be a hassle to drop off for things like this?" obviously Alia again. He is still experienced enough to just hold back.
"Yes, bother too," said Daniel. Still reluctant to look at Alia.
Usually it is Alia who will make it as the beginning of the debate. He would twist his words and end up blaming Daniel for being bothered. Or things like that.
This time, however, Alia was silent. There was a painful throb in his chest. He was used to not taking the heart of every word of Daniel. The man used to also often spout sarcastic words. But lately Alia's been a little sensitive. Daniel's words and the thoughts he's been trying to get his hands on since the last few days actually combine, forming pressure.
"right, yeah. It must be troublesome," muttered Alia faintly. "It has been given a comfortable residence, spacious rooms, good food.now still have to buy expensive clothes, and deliver everything. Must be a hassle."
Alia felt her body lose energy. He thought Daniel certainly did not hear his words so much earlier. Alia stared at the window beside her, pensively blank. Thinking of her own words made Alia limp.
Alia knew Daniel wasn't that petty. But he knew better the contents of his mind that further undermined his own confidence. Alia stared at her reflection in the car glass. Staring blankly at his reflection which today is considered better than everyday life.
"Hey, Daniel. What do you think of Brother's appearance today?" Alia tried to comment on the smile, though she was sure Daniel would never look at her again.
"Hm."
That was Daniel's answer.
Alia scrunched her face, trying not to cry here. He raised his hand and watched with pushy eyes. He used to boast of his hand. The hands of a hard worker, he thought. But now the hand is empty. Have no power.
She has always been a proud sister. Even though he lived slowly, he still felt it was better. Alia is not used to living dependent on others, even her own sister.
"Ah. I am useless." Alia sighed softly. Now lean his head against the windshield.
"Daniel, I'm sorry to bother you. If we go back now, will you be upset? Brother will cancel this meeting." Alia bit her lips, feeling like a coward. He did not even dare to look at Daniel's expression. "Sorry, yeah. My sister does not know herself. Asking for the weird, when you're actually helping Brother."
Daniel frowned, turning his head for the first time to Alia. "What does that mean? Why do we have to go back?"
"You said it was a hassle, right? And then, let's go back. You can continue the work you left behind."
Daniel flabbergasted. He immediately pulled over his car and faced Alia in full. "Don't believe those words?"
Alia had been looking at Daniel ever since the car stopped. "Of course." she replied limply.
Alia's eyes began to glaze over. This is why he did not want to see Daniel. Alia was afraid of not being able to control herself and instead cried here.
Daniel was too surprised to be able to respond directly. Finally he held his head and shook his head slowly. "sorry. I didn't mean to."
He has forgotten something important. Alia was a woman who lived by her own efforts all this time. Didn't Daniel depend on him? He should have realized earlier that Alia would be more sensitive by now. The woman enjoyed her time at home in the shadow of Daniel. Alia would definitely lose her confidence like this.
"No need to cover. It's true what you said. Everything, right, is yours. Sister just huffing-"
"But you look pissed off. Your answer is so sniffy. You don't even want to look at Brother."
"I don't mean like that." Daniel was confused to find an excuse. He couldn't possibly say that he was acting like that because his feelings were so strange from earlier.
Alia is so sweet today. No one can deny it. Daniel did not dare to turn his head earlier for fear that his heart would again rumble. Although he continued to praise Alia in his head, when asked for an opinion, Daniel could not express it properly. While his mind was unstable like this, he recalled the man Alia would meet today. It just makes her feel more ungodly.
"I was just thinking about the job. So it can't focus" Daniel replied in the end.
"Look at! It's obviously troublesome. Sorry." Alia looked up, holding back the lump of water that was about to come down from her eye patch. "Let's just turn around."
Daniel sighed, feeling that this would never end. He took reckless action, ignoring his heartbeat. Daniel brought his body closer to Alia, stretched out his hand and rubbed gently under Alia's slightly wet eyes.
"Sir Alia is beautiful today."
Alia was a little surprised but did not dodge. He stopped looking up and looked at Daniel directly. As a result, a tear fell freely onto his cheek.
"Very pretty." Daniel returned to wipe away the trail of tears. This time with the softest smile. The rarest smile he could make. Daniel did not put his hand away, but let him cupper Alia's cheek.
The two look at meet. Look inside at each iris. Alia is drowned by dark blue and Daniel is made by pitch black. Daniel is too busy with his erratic thoughts that he does not realize Alia's cheeks are getting blustery.
Before Daniel's face turned red, he immediately turned his gaze again. "I was upset earlier."
"Because of repotka-"
"Not that. Why does that word come out so often, anyway?" Daniel clucked to cut Alia's sentence. "I'm upset that my only brother is going on a first date with a stranger I don't know yet. It felt very angry when I saw that Big Brother who looked special today was going to meet a man who could be hurt. Is that enough reason?"
Alia stared for a moment, then nodded. Reviewing a thin smile. "Thank you."
Daniel nodded and distanced himself. He held his chest that felt like it was going to break at this moment. The car back he ran in silence that was much more comfortable than before.
"You don't do that to just any woman, yes, Daniel," Alia said suddenly.
"Doing which?" Daniel glanced at it for a moment.
"This one." Alia. He points his right hand at the left cheek. "That was."
Daniel tried to keep his face normal. "Why?"
Alia shook her head small. "Danger, they could instantly fall for you. When you just do it, Brother is pounding."
Daniel looked quickly. "Sister? Pounding?"
Alia nodded.
Daniel was just making fun of it, and back to throwing his face away. His face was heating up, and one hundred percent must have been flushed by now.
He still can't control it well.
