A wide smile adorned the sweet face of Alia. Her hair that was only as long as her chest was tied half a ponytail, dividing her wavy black hair into unraveled and bound parts. Alia also decorated her hair with a dark blue ribbon. Cheers could be heard from his soft humming along the way.
"Be careful." Daniel who was walking behind Alia shook his head slowly as the woman almost tripped.
They've gone down a road far from the highway. After getting off public transport, they had to walk to get home.
Today's Daniel's graduation announcement and farewell. That's why she and Alia wear better clothes. Alia even styled her hair to make it look neater.
"Do you really have to be that happy?" asked Daniel in wonder.
Alia stopped stepping. Then turn around while glaring. "Silver is appreciating something that cannot be achieved first. How can you be unhappy?"
Daniel was able to catch up with Alia and stand right in front of her. He suddenly held onto Alia's shoulder and twisted it. Daniel then embraces Alia's small shoulder and taps Alia's body on her right side.
Alia did not protest. He knew Daniel was doing it so that Alia could walk more correctly and carefully. Daniel deliberately minimizes his steps to adjust to Alia's footsteps.
At the farewell event, there was indeed a part of the event where it was mentioned the top ten outstanding student students who were ranked globally one generation. Alia is not really surprised when Daniel makes her have to come on stage to receive her award as a guardian. What amazed him, was his striking position for advancing in the final summoning. The position that received the most applause and cheers.
Daniel's achievements surpass Alia's past. But Daniel, who won the general first place, did not appear to show any interest at all.
"It looks like you have a lot of fans." Alia is deliberately teasing Daniel. He smiled broadly as he recalled how Daniel was completely besieged by the many girls who wanted to congratulate him and give him gifts.
Daniel's response was a little annoying. He nodded only slightly at the praise and congratulations, while the gifts addressed to him, all he refused. Alia even had a chance to see Daniel's cold gaze on a girl who forced him to take a gift from the girl.
"You don't get too stiff on women. How can I get a partner?" Alia gave her advice.
"It's not important for now."
Alia looked at Daniel annoyed and sighed softly.
"Self seemed to have managed to lure quite a number of my friends. They came to my brother too." Daniel returned Alia's temptation.
Alia looks simple. His appearance could not even be equated with the girls who had hooked up to Daniel. But its simplicity is what makes it attractive in the eyes of teenage boys who are used to living luxurious lives and too often see the glamorous appearance of people around him. Alia is like a rare diamond among ordinary gemstones.
Moreover, Alia's sweet smile that spread freely was very alluring and soothing to anyone who saw it. It was as if his smile was announcing that a better day was coming.
"Not as much as your fans. But if you don't get in their way, it could be that Big Brother's fan will be more." Alia chuckled after saying that confidently. He did not expect Daniel would take it seriously.
"So don't trust those kids. They have been good at playing with women since childhood. Many girls at school are already victims. Brother only looks attractive in their eyes at this time, but then Brother will only be a toy." Daniel looks serious even though he remains focused on moving forward.
Alia's ears are hot. Getting silly advice from people younger than him, especially about love situations makes his self-esteem hurt.
"You're too serious. There's no way you guys like teenagers like you. Big Brother's taste is still a more mature man than Big Brother." Alia complained annoyedly.
"Wow, really? I thought Brother was desperate for a suitable man, so interested in a younger man." Daniel pretended to be surprised, though his flat face did not help at all.
Alia suddenly wants to kick Daniel into the sewer. However, it was impossible for him who was small in stature to do that. Although his words were sharp, but Daniel also helped him survive the group of naughty teenagers who tried to approach him earlier.
"Don't bother my brother, you fucking rat."
His words were still ringing in Alia's ears. Daniel who had separated from Alia because of his female fans immediately escaped when Alia began to be approached by his classmate. Daniel actually did not like to think of the teenagers as his friends. For those who have high friendship qualifications, the children are nothing more than an arrogant group of rich children and only care about their own benefits.
Daniel who immediately pulled Alia's hand and hid it behind the body, gave the teenagers a horrible look. One cold sentence can make them go away even with a dissatisfied face.
Despite feeling proud of being saved in that cool way, Alia was also itching to correct Daniel's overly harsh last words. Daniel with this kind of temperament certainly brings a lot of trouble. But the group of teenage boys who are interested in Alia do not want to deal with the headmaster who protects Daniel. They are secretly wary of Daniel's background which is considered so mysterious.
"Sister's been twenty-one years, right? The ideal age to marry a woman. If you're in love with someone, tell your husband-to-be that you chose me. I'll select the speed for Brother. " Daniel said relax. But there was no joke in his sentence.
"Gosh, you're like friends at work. Talking about the dream man, prospective husband or married age. Brother never even thought of that," Alia protested. He scrunched his head which started to sting.
"Who started first?!"
"Sister."
Alia was silent for a moment. He can't speak anymore.
They continued their steps in silence. Daniel still embraces Alia, as much as possible to keep Alia comfortable walking.
"Your values are extraordinary, Daniel. Brother so understand the source of your confidence to apply for college abroad," said Alia when she remembered something.
Daniel did not respond. For him, this is not extraordinary, but only one of the steps of the plan to achieve the goal.
"Sister will use our savings for your supplies. The plan, Brother will also send some money to you every month." Alia told me this with passion.
Daniel shook his head. "That's not necessary."
Alia shook her head as well. "need. I know you have a lot of ideas in your head. Suppose Brother is giving up his extra capital."
"I can do my own business. Brother can open a cake shop business with that money." Daniel stayed to his wishes.
"Hahaha, do you believe those words too? Come, Daniel. It's not hard at all. Don't refuse, will you?" persuade Alia.
Daniel looked at Alia next to him. Sometimes he felt that the effort Alia had put in for him was excessive. Daniel is also worried because he knows Alia will not have time to think about her own goodness due to paying too much attention to him. But he also knew that Alia would not give up until Daniel gave a satisfactory answer.
"Say yes, Daniel."
Daniel did not answer.
"Say yes!"
Daniel took a breath. "Yes, okay."
Alia seemed satisfied with that answer. He smiled widely, revealing his small and neat white teeth. "Good boy."
"But don't push yourself. If it's not enough for Brother's needs, then don't send it." Daniel made a condition indirectly.
"Agreed!"
Daniel tried to hold back his smile seeing Alia who looked several times happier.
"When is the scholarship test held?" ask Alia again.
"About a month."
Alia nodded in understanding. "Then, after that test and before your departure, how about we visit Father and Mother's tomb?"
Alia was already very confident Daniel could pass the test. A month of preparation is too long to study for Daniel.
"That's great. I think so too."
Smile back on Alia's little lips. It had been several months since they visited the tomb. Alia was happy with Daniel who was like her. Although the treatment of his parents were so limiting the space of Daniel first, there was never any complaint conveyed to them or Alia though.
Although I never got an explanation. Daniel understood that their parents' decision was for his own good. Time spent in that small space was also a favorite part of his life, for as long as he could remember.
Or in fact, throughout memory since he woke up in the hospital due to a head injury that hit him at the age of eight years.
