"How many percent of your faith can go to this university?"
"100%" replied Daniel confidently.
Alia smiled proudly. If Daniel said that to himself, no one could doubt him. Daniel's calculations are always precise, and if dealing with his beliefs after doing something, Daniel never mentions numbers haphazardly.
They had just passed through the tomb marker gate. Alia and Daniel were both dressed in black. Each of them also brought a basket of flowers. Alia tied down her wave hair with the same colored ribbon she always wore. Dark blue tape.
As agreed a month after graduation, they visited the tomb after Daniel completed his test three days ago.
The province has four major cities. Central City, Western City, Southern City, and Northern City. The large burial area was at the Southern edge of the Western City, almost approaching the Southern City itself. For Daniel and Alia whose residence is close to the outskirts of Western City, the cemetery can be reached in just half an hour.
"Eh? Did anyone come here?" Alia quickened her pace when she could see the graves of her parents. Daniel followed from behind.
The graves of their parents are close together, even right next to each other. Alia wanted that. However, because this was a big funeral, he had stopped hoping. But coincidentally, the location of his mother's funeral was right next to his father's. Alia never questioned this, but secretly felt strange as well.
Their mother died two years ago, when Alia was nineteen and Daniel was sixteen at the time. While their father died two years earlier again or four years ago. In the two years since his father died, there must have always been another funeral. However, the space next to their father's tomb seemed to have been deliberately emptied and skipped. However, Alia did not let her curiosity continue to grow. As long as it wasn't a bad thing, he wouldn't take it any further.
Daniel crouched beside his father's grave. He could see the sprinkling of fresh flowers and wet soil in both the graves of their parents. The environment around his tomb was also clean. "It seems not long ago" he said.
The grasses that had been plucked and collected in one small pile were even still fresh, signaling the person who did that, had not long left this place.
Alia crouched down, seeming to think of something. As he remembered, his parents did not have any more relatives here. It is also the cause of the difficulty of their lives after the passing of both parents.
"Who did it? Do you and your mom have friends or friends? But how do they know where this tomb is?" muttered Alia with a small voice.
Daniel looked around sharply. He hopes to find someone around for questioning, or better if he finds someone who has done all this.
Unfortunately, there are only two of them here. This was indeed not on ordinary days of tomb visits, so the atmosphere was really quiet. Only mounds of tombs and shady trees throughout the vision. The rustling of the leaves and the breeze of the wind were the only sounds heard. Daniel gazed long upon the largest banyan tree in the middle of the tomb area which is quite close to his position and Alia at this time. He has a natural sharp instinct. Daniel was just about to stand to check before Alia held him back.
"Where are you going?"
"Go check."
"No need." Alia flicked her hand. "Do what we can do. No need to find out any further. Whoever did this must be well-intentioned."
Daniel did not immediately refuse or agree, but after thinking for a while he returned crouching near Alia. He also thought there was no point in finding out further. After all for what a person who does a good thing like this should bother hiding as he had thought before.
"Dad, Mother, look at this one of your sons. He'll go far for a while and leave us. Alia hoped, Father and Mother can watch her from up there," Alia said in a loud voice.
Daniel, who was sprinkling flowers on his mother's grave and turned his back to Alia, chuckled softly as he listened to the words.
"You just laughed?" Alia turned around and looked behind Daniel's head in annoyance.
"No." Daniel's tone was still as flat as ever. If Alia saw the expression on her face, she would be amazed at the speed at which Daniel changed his expression.
"Lied." Alia's hearing is still good. He could hear Daniel's little laugh clearly just now. The quiet conditions allowed Alia to hear it clearly.
Daniel turned around after emptying his flower basket over the tomb. He looked at Alia with his usual flat face, even with a slightly astonished look. It was as if he was not the origin of the laughter. "I'm not lying. My sister thinks so."
Alia was still staring fiercely. He even looked at Daniel's face.
"Gdh...."
Daniel could not maintain his flat face anymore. He closed his mouth, and started laughing stifled until his body trembled. Daniel's face and ears also blushed quickly.
Plaque.
Daniel's laughter became a small cry. He held onto his shoulder which Alia hit. "Ahaha, ouch. Big Brother's punch is always very painful." Daniel wiped the water at the end of his eyes.
Daniel laughed until he almost cried. Alia's punch was actually nothing compared to her difficulty controlling the laughter earlier. But Alia was already panicking.
"Eh? Is it too hard?" Alia was surprised and approached. He who once made a grown man fainted instantly through the swing of his punch, so worried that Daniel really complained of pain. "Sorry. You too, who told you to laugh at Brother."
Daniel smiled faintly. His laughter was over, but his face was still reddish. "Sister's grown up, but his words are like a child's. Mom and Dad were calm there. Don't be asked to watch over the world again."
It could be that Alia is getting angry and adding to her protest after hearing Daniel's reasoning that equates her with a child. But Daniel's smile made him melt. "I'm not going to forgive you this time because you're more handsome when you're lowering the price of your usually very expensive smile."
"God, how does that relate?" Daniel shook his head, then took the basket in Alia's hand and drew closer to his father's grave.
"Dispensated. That's called a special dispensation of handsome people. Did you never know that beautiful or handsome people have their own special place in society?" Alia took the petals in a basket that switched positions to Daniel and sprinkled them over the tomb.
"Am I handsome?"
"Did your fans never tell you this?" Alia answered not caring.
"Sister's opinion is more important." Daniel's back in factory mode. His flat face dominated as he waited for Alia's reply.
"Why is it like that?" ask Alia astonished. His hands still sprinkled flowers without even looking back and staring at Daniel's current expression.
"Sister Alia never lies" Daniel replied casually.
Alia looked at Daniel. He felt overwhelmed by that answer. Alia never lies. All this time, didn't he always lie? Alia suddenly felt the need to hit Daniel on the head. Although impressed as a casual answer, Daniel clearly felt something that Alia was covering up so as to make a trapping statement like this.
"Thank you then." Alia cursed in her heart. He was just praised as the most honest man. But with her casual feigned acting at the moment, Alia felt as an accomplished con artist.
They let the birds chirp and the friction of the leaves take over the sound. Alia and Daniel began to clean the area of the tomb of his parents more widely. It didn't take long because the place had already been cleaned before by someone they didn't know about.
They were preparing to return home after being in the tomb for nearly an hour and a half. After paying her last respects, Alia stood up. But he stopped walking when he saw Daniel not following him.
"What's wrong?"
Daniel looked. "none. It's just, has Alia ever met Grandpa?"
Alia frowned, feeling astonished by the question. But then he was able to quickly grasp the meaning of Daniel's words.
"Never." Alia was silent for a moment before continuing, "Are you still thinking about it?"
"I can't if I forgot. Brother himself said that the color of the eyes I have is the same as many people want. But that popularity is useless. I feel so different to this family. Father, Mother, and Brother Alia have a beautiful and deep bead with black color," replied Daniel.
"Sister said, right? You took Grandpa's genes from Dad. Grandpa also has dark blue eyes like you. Mother told me that before." Alia explained softly.
Daniel didn't respond to anything. He has no reason to argue. However, he was also not so sure of the answer.
"Daniel, don't think about it too much. You're my brother, forever will be so. Don'worry. And also...." Alia paused her words, making Daniel stand up and wait for the sentence to follow.
"Let's go home." Alia grabbed Daniel's arm that didn't carry the basket. He took Daniel to get out of the tomb. Daniel finally just resigned and let Alia pull him out of the funeral.
When they were far enough away, only then did a silhouette of someone appear from behind the largest banyan tree in the middle of the tomb.
