The Dark Side of a Judge

The Dark Side of a Judge
Chapter 54. The Dark Side of Makutha

Liam stared at the dozens of reporters who were crowded the Mayor's office yard. The camera of the news hunters prepared to take pictures, and record everything he wanted to say.

Liam's personal assistant was on the left side, observing the movements of every journalist and person present at the press conference. He did not want anything unwanted to threaten the safety of his superiors.

The clock shows at 18:00 as the conference begins and is broadcast through several online news portals. Liam wanted to confess what he had done to Farhan. The man took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.

"I will say everything honestly and openly in the press conference tonight. It's true I asked someone to terrorize BRIPDA Farhan."

At first the reporters called out to each other in surprise. However, before long they all put together to ask Liam a question. Their voices really disturbed Liam's hearing, making the Mayor make a high-pitched voice.

"You can shut up!" shouted Liam.

The man's eyes bulged with hardened jaws. His breath hunting because disturbed by the questions of the media crew in front of his office building.

"I don't take questions. I will reveal everything clearly to you. I think what I'm going to say today can treat public curiosity, as well as reveal the facts that happened."

Liam looked at all the reporters present from the front row to the back. There was absolutely no doubt in every sentence he spoke. Liam begins to reveal the reason behind the terror acts committed to Farhan.

"I did just that, because secretly BRIPDA Farhan and also Judge Makutha had worked together to bring me down. I feel depressed about them. At first I did this so that Farhan and Makutha would stop interfering with the work I was doing for this city."

The camera's flash lights kept flashing when taking portraits of the mayor. Not until there, Liam also began to reverse the facts about the incident seven years ago. The statement of the man certainly made the media again surprised.

"The judge we now know by his virtue killed his friend in the brawl seven years ago. He instigated me and a few other friends, then pumped up the Leopard Gang to attack each other." Liam revealed everything without hesitation.

This has led most journalists to believe. They looked at each other and whispered. Some of them swallow Liam's words raw for the performance that is considered good by the office where they work. However, there are also those who still doubt Liam's unfounded remarks.

"Through this press conference, I also asked Mr. Judge Makutha to acknowledge also what he has done in the past. And take responsibility for everything."

On the other hand, Makutha who was watching the live broadcast growled. Anger now filled his chest. The fingers of the man clenched firmly withstanding the emotional turmoil that is now dominating.

"Damn it! How could he turn the facts around!" makutha exclaimed while hitting the wheel.

Makutha immediately turned off the live broadcast of the press conference. The man immediately gasped towards the Leopard Gang headquarters. When he arrived at the gate of the luxury house that was used as the headquarters of the Cantul Gang, Makutha got out of the car and then pushed the bell.

Soon a bald-headed man came out to him. The man knitted his two eyebrows. He examines Makutha's appearance from head to toe.

"Can I meet Toni?"

"What business is it?"

"I ...." Makutha's words hung in the air as the man before her suddenly received a phone call.

Makutha was forced to wait for the man to finish talking to someone by phone. While waiting, he observed the situation around the headquarters. Despite being in elite housing, this headquarters building looks a bit more different.

The architecture is similar to the luxury buildings of the Dutch colonial era. Whereas other houses look modern with a minimalist design. The front road of the base also felt so quiet. It should be that hour in this big city there are still many activities outside the house.

"Come, follow me!" bring the man.

"Alright, I lock the car first." Makutha gets back in the car and picks up the firearm, then infiltrates it into the shirt.

Makutha also did not forget to bring a hidden camera complete with a voice recorder. He prepared all of that just in case of desperate entering the headquarters of the Leopard Gang.

I don't know why the handsome judge suspected the sight. For Makutha, the mound of soil with rose plants there looks very suspicious. All the members of the Leopard Gang were definitely men. How could anyone plant a white rose and take good care of it?

"Wait here." The man asked Makutha to wait.

Makutha landed her buttocks on a garden chair by the fish pond. He again observed the situation of the house suspiciously. There were so many questions that were going around in his head.

While struggling with his thoughts, suddenly someone hit the nape of Makutha. The man's ears were buzzing. His gaze blurred and Makutha's head felt throbbing.

Makutha also fell on a slightly wet grass. He saw someone approaching. From the shoes he wears, it is certain that the person is a woman.

"Take him to the basement!"

Hearing the voice of the woman made Makutha close her teeth. He knew who the owner of the voice was. But his consciousness slowly disappeared. The man's eyes felt heavy, and he lost consciousness.

...****************...

Pendant and Tiara decided to catch up with Hasna at the Hospital. Both went to see the beautiful doctor. Hasna is seen preparing Maudy's baby gear. The doctor allowed the tiny baby to come home tomorrow morning, because his health condition was not a problem.

"Mak Hasna!" call Tiara while running towards Hasna and scattering into her arms.

"Fra! How come here? Don't just rest at home?"

"No ah, Ma'am. Bored me!"

Hasna loosened her embrace then gently rubbed the top of her sister's head. He smiled gently then looked at the Pendant that was still standing in the doorway.

"Mother, I ...." Hasna's greeting was cut by the Pendant.

"You really made Mother a hanger! Before the accident, we were still talking to each other. Mother does not know what this heart feels like if you ...." The pendant stopped his speech and started to let out sobs.

"Sttc ... Mother, what the hell?" Hasna walked over, then summarized the face of the adoptive mother.

"How mommy's not down. Makutha called Mommy and said that you had an accident. We haven't had an hour on the phone yet!" The Pendant's voice mixed with crying, so Hasna needed more focus to understand her speech.

"Sorry, Bun. Sorry for making you worried. But now everything's fine, isn't it? I survived, even though one of my friends had to lose his life."

This time Hasna could feel what Makutha had felt when she lost Abercio. Guilt immediately perched in his heart. Even though everything that happened yesterday was not his fault, he still felt guilty.

Hasna thought that she was driving the car to the hospital, so could not take Maudy safely to the destination. Had he called an ambulance or asked Makutha for help, it might have been prevented. However, God's destiny cannot be resisted.

"Bun, how weird is that, huh? Ara try to phone Mas Utha can't!" tiara exclaimed, thus making Hasna and Pendant turn towards her.

"Masa? Didn't he promise to come here to take us to dinner?" ask the Pendant astonishment.

"Yes, that's why. Ara tried to contact Mas Utha, afraid she forgot. But, the phone is not active!" yelling tiara while grumbling.

The three of them looked at each other. Makutha is not usually like that. The man had never turned off his family phone number. He always had the discipline to charge the battery before traveling, to keep the phone on. The awkwardness of the night certainly left them all astonished and thinking of many bad things.
