The Butei Killer

Riko pulled two pistols from her scabbard on her smooth thigh.

The second gun used by Riko was the Walther P99. It is a semi-automatic pistol manufactured by German company Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen in Ulm.

Riko then pointed the two pistols in her hand towards Aria, and stared at Aria sharply as if she had seen her prey.

At the same time, from Riko's body, a powerful killing aura began to emerge.

The look in her eyes that were sharp as a ferocious beast and also a killing aura, all of that was something that Riko had never shown before. It was as if he had turned into a different person.

As an A-ranked Butei Inquesta, Riko is known as a reliable information digger, not as a frontline fighter.

"Ryan ..." Aria could only whisper while looking at Ryan with concern.

Even Riko, who had been staring intently at Aria, suddenly turned her eyes to Ryan with a carefree look when she heard his words.

"For a long time, Ri-Ri .. do you miss Riko?" riko said with a joyful expression and tone, just like she showed at school.

This was a complete contrast to what Riko had shown earlier. 

"I miss you so much, Riko .. I just realized it after you disappeared" Ryan said with raging feelings.

“But, I want to know one thing.” Ryan silently lowered his head for a moment, as if he was gathering energy to continue his words.

Riko smiled, but her eyes did not smile in the slightest. “Reason Riko is very clear.”

"That's you, Kanzaki Holmes Aria."

"My reason for doing all this is to beat you!"

"Because our great-grandfather drew, if I can defeat you as Olmes' descendant, isn't that enough to prove that I surpassed my great-grandfather and surpassed Lupin's first generation?!"

“What?!” Aria was completely shocked as well as in disbelief at this unreasonable reason. "You ... You became a Butei Killer just for reasons like this?!"

"This kind of excuse?" Riko's smile on her face instantly disappeared. 

"IU." Aria captured this name clearly from Riko's speech.

Riko looked at Ryan and said, "You know? Actually, I never really wanted to give you to Aria."

Hearing this, Ryan felt there was still a chance to stop Riko. However, having not had the time to speak, Riko spoke again.

Riko looked straight at Ryan. "All of you are Butei with an S rank during the Assault class entrance test. If it was you, Riko was sure you would be able to meet the requirements to become Aria's partner."

"After Riko investigates you, Riko discovers that Ri-Ri is much better than Tohyama Kinji. Whether it's in intelligence or strength." Riko's mouth smiled slightly as she said that.

“In this case, Riko assesses Ri-Ri is the most suitable candidate Aria partner. With your existence, then Aria can use her full strength." 

"And to make that happen, Riko accidentally gets Ri-Ri and Aria to meet by putting a bomb on a bus that transports many of Butei's students."

Hearing all this, Aria just kept quiet. I don't know what he had in mind, but from the look on his face, he was still trying to digest Riko's words.

Unlike Aria, Ryan finally understood the answer to the many peculiarities in the bus incident. 

"It's just fine that the bomb didn't go off when Aria found it!"

In a bus bombing incident, Butei Killer's goal is to lure Ryan into the bus and detonate the bomb to kill him.

The reason why the bomb was not detonated the first time when Ryan boarded the bus was because the Remote Control car equipped with surveillance cameras had been destroyed. This leaves Butei Killer unable to figure out how Ryan is on the bus and misjudging the time of detonating the bomb.

Ryan had always assumed that that was the reason why the bomb did not explode immediately.

But it turns out, all of Ryan's deductions were wrong. The bus incident was just a stage drama that Riko had prepared.
