This remark of Ryan, although not carrying a hostile tone, but made the air around him a little more tense.

However, the Crimson Denizen, known as the Corpse Retriever, did not care about it. He answered Ryan's question honestly. 

"You can call me Lamies. At least, in a situation like this, everyone calls me by that name."

Hearing Lamies reply, Ryan remained focused staring at the battleground in front of him and watched the red lotus flames continuously explode against the dark blue flames. 

Ryan then said without looking to the side, "Then, I'll call you Lamies until you get out of this Torch."

The old man named Lamies nodded in surprise at Ryan's remark. He said, "I didn't think you could see that I was hiding in the Torch. You're not really an ordinary person."

"No, this is not something surprising" Ryan replied in an indifferent tone.

After which, Ryan slowly turned his head and looked towards Lamies.

"After all, I can see clearly, there is another line that is very different from the original Torch line."

With this fall of Ryan's words, a shivering coldness assaulted Lamies' heart. 

At the same time, Lamies saw him. He saw Ryan's pair of icy blue eyes.

The look in these eyes seemed to be able to see directly the weak point of Lamies.

'No! It was not a weak spot that could be seen by that eye!'

'I'm sure those eyes have power that surpasses that!'

'If not, there is no way to explain why my heart feels so cold when it is stared at with those eyes.

"Like the previous generation, this generation's Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter seemed to be very fond of powerful strange men."

Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter before Shana, Mathilde Saint-Omer, falls in love with her own contractor, Alastor. This was a pretty strange relationship, where there had never been a Flame Haze who had fallen in love with the Crimson Lord who contracted with him.

Lamies then lowered the hat on his head, and tried to cover his eyes, as if he wanted to hide his expression. 

With such a pose, Lamies said, "It seems I understand why Reiji Maigo is in your hands."

Ryan frowned slightly as soon as he heard Lamies say. He then tried to recall information about Lamies based on his Anime. Faintly, Ryan remembered the real name of Lamies. 

Spiral Organ, which is the original name of Lamies, as well as the name Crimson Denizen who created Fuuzetsu for the first time in the world. Other than Fuuzetsu, there were still many Infinite Spells that had been created by this Crimson Denizen.

The Corpse Retriever is simply a term for the Lamies hiding inside the Torch. He has accumulated a lot of Power of Existence coming from Torch for hundreds of years.

The reason Lamies did all this was because Lamies wanted to repair a painting of a relic of the person he once loved. 

Hundreds of years ago, after the events of The Great War that killed the Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter before Shana, Spiral Organ returned from the war and went to visit the home of his loved ones. He was a painter and an ordinary man.

However, once the Spiral Organ arrives at the person's home, it turns out that the person has died of old age. The person, until the end of his life, was still waiting faithfully for the Spiral Organ to return. While waiting, he painted the Spiral Organ form on a canvas. 

But unfortunately, when the Spiral Organ found it, the painting was damaged. For this reason the Spiral Organ is trying to restore the painting to all forms.

It took Lamies hundreds of years to create an Infinite Spell that could recover objects. But, this Infinite Spell required an enormous Power of Existence.

Since Lamies did not want to achieve his goal by swallowing the human Power of Existence like the other Crimson Denizen, and also became unwilling to become a fugitive of the Flame Haze, he eventually chose to eat the Torch.

Of course, this way, Lamies could no longer display his true form in this world. He is no longer free to use his power.

Therefore, Ryan was not at all worried about the existence of Lamies. 

However, Ryan is still confused, how the Lamies know that Ryan has Reiji Maigo.

So, Ryan looked back at the Lamies. But, this time, Ryan looked at her with dark-colored eyes, instead of using the Mystic Eye of Death Perception.

Seeing Ryan's appearance, Lamies gave him a smile full of calmness. However, the words that will be said next do not give Ryan a sense of calm.

“Actually, I am on a mission given by Bal Masque to install the Unlimited Spell in this city. If this mission is successful, I can get a lot of Power of Existence as the reward.”

This unexpected information left Ryan's eyes wide open for a moment. Afterwards, Ryan just kept silent while staring intently at Lamies, as if urging him to give Ryan more information.

“I can't tell you what effect Infinite Spell I've put on. It was an act of breach of contract. Of course it would be a pretty big deal for me if it happened. I can-can not be paid for my hard work.” explained Lamies.

After a few seconds of silence, Lamies spoke again. “Because I don't want to be hostile to a human like you, I'll tell you one thing.”

“The Infinite Tantra I installed has certain conditions to be active. As long as conditions are met, this Infinite Spell will draw Power of Existence from your body as its source of activation energy, do you understand?”

Although Ryan did not know what effect the Infinite Spell had, Ryan was able to understand two very important things.

The first was that when the Infinite Spell was activated and unleashed its effects, then the Power of Existence Ryan would be sucked in. 

It's certainly very dangerous. If the activation energy required was very large, then Ryan's Power of Existence could be sucked out. And that means Ryan's gonna die.

Then the second thing is Bal Masque, as the party who wants to take Reiji Maigo, does not seem to be coming to Misaki city.

Because if they were to come to the city of Misaki, there was no way Bal Masque would ask the help of Lamies to install the Unbounded Spell in this city. 

I don't know what purpose Bal Masque did all that, but certainly Ryan felt he had fallen into Bal Masque's trap.

The traps that have been laid out are very neat. In fact, the appearance of Margery in Misaki City seems to have been included in the calculations Lamies.

Ryan was eager to force Lamies to tell him what purpose Bal Masque was doing all this. However, come to think of it, Ryan felt that Lamies would definitely keep his mouth shut. Killing him was of no benefit to Ryan either.

“Why do you want to tell me all this?” ask Ryan.

Lamies could only laugh hearing this. “I've said before no, I don't want to be hostile to you. More precisely, I do not want to be hostile to a human who is treated with great care by Bal Masque.”

Lamies then said in a sincere tone, “I just want to be able to reach my goal peacefully. Therefore, I do not want to be hostile to humans like you. At the same time, I also do not want to be hostile to Bal Masque.”

With that statement, Lamies body suddenly turned into a bird.

Ryan only saw that the bird could go away and not chase after him. After Lamies disappeared, Ryan sat pensively rethinking all the information from Lamies.
