"3.3 million dollars?! You sure you mentioned the correct number?!"
"I'm sure I've submitted all the evidence to Mr. Alan. The proof is clear, he cannot possibly deny.from the first month the lounge opened he had already committed embezzlement."
"How is it possible..." Nathan is running out of words now, he did not expect the person he considered a friend could embezzle millions of dollars from the business that has not even turned three years old.
"I'm going back to the apartment, I want the report right now. Have Alan meet me at the apartment? You guys are too." Nathan just walked away leaving me and Louis. Two of his guards followed him quickly.
"Call your boss, he'll explode if we linger. Come on, let's go together, just go with my car."
We rushed to Nathan's apartment after I called Mr. Alan to join. This is my first time going to Nathan's apartment.
"What does Nathan have to do with Enrique? Why does it look like he's so disappointed?”
“You could say they were childhood friends who met again now in NY. Nathan and his family are from Chicago.” I think what I'm looking for is in Chicago, a smaller group of companies, probably run under a third-person name, a company where we suspect we're turning money.
“Enrique 3 years ago went bankrupt, his pub business went bankrupt, and at that time his mother was sick. He helped. He believes Enrique won't betray him of course, Enrique probably owes everything I guess. But I also somehow never believed in Enrique, even though I knew he did a good job. I pushed his name into the first audit.”
“So apparently. His heart must be in a bad mood now.”
The residence is not an apartment to be exact, but a modern 4-story townhouse in the West Village, this is indeed the residence of the rich, the neighborhood of the millionaires on the upper side of NY, beside the Hudson River. Taking the parking lot on the side of the road we went inside, Nathan's car was already there with the escort car.
We passed through the first door of the outdoor living room, where the bodyguards and drivers were located. One of the house employees seemed to be there and recognized Louis, telling his master that if everyone had come to be asked to gather in the study, we went into the second sitting room. The monochrome room which is dominated by light brown and white looks elegant.
“We wait for Alan here only, before entering the workspace.”
“Mr Nathan will be mad at us?” I imagine he'll blame us.
“Enrique outsmarted the bookkeeping, we are not the ones to blame, we found the error.” Suddenly in the front living room there was a commotion. The voice of a noisy woman tried to enter the second living room but was blocked by John and the housekeeper.
“Nona, you are banned from entering.” I saw who Amanda was Nathan's girlfriend before.
“I want to meet Nathan. The car is in front.”
“Mr Nathan doesn't want to see you again, and your belongings have already been removed from here. I'm sorry but you can't be here.” Apparently Amanda lived with Nathan before. It seems that this separation is very complicated. Imagine taking out the girl's belongings, it might take a housewarming service and it's definitely a hit. I don't think Nathan's a man who spends time with women carelessly.
