Los Angeles, six months later.
"Get out of my way! Stupid as*shole!" I honked many times to get my way. The stupid driver in front of me tried to park in a tight spot and block my way.
The suffering of Angelenos (l. A. residents) every day is endless traffic jams. In La La Land, everyone talks about traffic every day. Too many people but too few roads. Forget the breezy paths with palm trees in the sparkling Beverly Hills and Hollywood movies.
In the middle of this city every day is a traffic jam struggle to break through blocks one to another, even holding the record of the most racetracked city in the US for 30 years without being defeated.
Six months I've been here, my biggest complaint is traffic jam! Not the other one. The struggle to find parking in the middle of the city is never easy.
The city is rarely rainy, desert-climate with plenty of sun throughout the year and drivers in LA consider rain to be a disaster. Many collisions in the rain due to inexperienced drivers with wet roads.
In these six months I made myself a feared man in the company's eastern subsidiaries. I barked at everyone as a guard dog, escorting every penny into its proper place, fixing every gap I thought had to be fixed.
And Sean who became my tandem, he also runs the bodyguard and private security business in this Eastern region, he has many acquaintances of artists, I was amazed at his subscription list. But we both work well together here.
The other problem is, I haven't been able to break into a company other than Garcia Int, for the past six months looking. All the businesses in the western region are clean. But I still have to hang in here.
"You stay there, be a confidant, be friendly with your new environment, you'll also see what's on the inside." My boss Matias Crawley told me to stay and be a part of them.
"Is there any other information that could be a reference sir?"
"Not yet, that's why I want you to stay there and see what you're getting, besides your salary isn't quite there." Well, yes my salary is higher than the average head auditor. Whatever, if he believes so. He knows I can't force him to come in and get information. It must be obtained naturally, not by force.
"Maybe on some occasion we have an operation in LA, the other team will ask for your help. Tim Tyson Beckford is investigating a government budget fraud and corruption case there."
Tyson, he's one of the mainstay agents with the same piece, the fact is we've dated. He's handsome as an extra note. Has a good sense of humor, he is perfect except for the fact he may not want commitment. That might make us fit, friend but anti-commitment.
