Dad went to Chianti to meet his love, Nathan and I drove him that afternoon. I smiled to see him so happy at the beginning of December.
"Please promise me you'll catch up as soon as you can, your aunt will be there, we'll all be there."
"I'll catch up as soon as I can Dad. Don't worry, have fun. Tell Mom I miss her. We'll have a video call as soon as you get there okay."
"Alright, your mother will ask me to call you soon. He was hoping you could come along..."

"Sure sir, I may be able to visit you in the new year, I will place." I'm glad Nathan's coming. He's willing to meet my family isn't it a big sign that he thinks my family is his family, too.
"Good, Katya must be glad you came. Not really a baby..." I just smiled at him. If he was willing to meet my family it would be great of course.
"Well, Dad go first, you'll call you as soon as Mom and Dad meet."

We waved at him to usher in his departure. I looked at Nathan as I turned around to hold his hand.
"You're really going there."
"Hmm new year okay. I'll be there." He's lookingat me. I nodded and allowed myself to walk while embracing him down the airport corridor. Although Dad might be gone, I have Nathan.
