Elegant wedding decorations with white chiffon scarves and matching roses and small lanterns, make the sacred procession in a villa is actually very romantic.
Some close family, friends and colleagues appear to be present who are filling the chairs lined up neatly there. Not only that, the blue sky and green grass and trees bear witness to the deep pain for the bride, when after the previous groom named Kayden Kim and his bride named Gwen Sandriana carry out the procession of the sacred promise of marriage.
For a woman, isn't marrying a man she loves and a man who loves a woman making her happy? Unfortunately, such a beautiful thing Gwen could not feel. On her wedding day, she showed only a somber face without a line of smiles. Gwen is fully aware that she is currently married to a man she thinks is very wrong and unexpected.
Forty-five minutes earlier…
In one room is a special room for the bride who is waiting and ready to go to the wedding ceremony venue, instantly the room was immediately silent after some people threw laughter at the bride-to-be.
Gwen sat down in the nearest chair. His face was pale from shock. His hands were sandwiched between the knees and half buried in soft folds of white silk and fine lace. Cold and numb, he squeezed the letter that Kayden had just handed over.
Gwen darling …
I'm sorry I had to do this to you.
I can't continue our marriage.
Rainier.
That's how the letter is. Short and clear, but painful. Surely there will be an inner wound that Gwen gets.
“Tega-ego he did this!” the cry of Gwen's uncle Joe Huang broke the gripping silence. The voice of the fifty-nine-year-old middle-aged man sounded hoarse and hit because he was very confused by the sudden problem that had befallen his nephew.
The room was quiet again, no one answered. Including Gwen, her aunt and her best friend Lucia Zhang. Even Kayden himself who was standing by the window of the room was silent.
While out there, in a park where the wedding sacred promise event that was soon held was full of invited guests. All dressed in the best clothes, waiting for the two brides who never showed up.
“Gosh ... indeed he should do this?” Uncle Joe was back in a fit of rage.
“The man doesn't know himself. He does not deserve to be called a human. He has no heart,” said Aunt Gwen named Meli Huang on the sidelines sobs her tears. The fifty-six-year-old middle-aged woman was really worried about the fate of her unfortunate nephew.
Lucia who could not bear to see her best friend feel sad and hit, she then approached him while landing her body sitting on a chair. The twenty-five-year-old girl tried to calm her down by gently rubbing the back of her extremely fragile best friend.
“I don't want to meet anyone,” replied Gwen softly. His lips are still trembling. His mouth looked dry so dry that it all felt like splitting everything. Not only that, his heart was pumping strangely. Not in the chest, but in the stomach because a large and intense pulse makes him dizzy and nauseous.
“Yes God, Gwen ..” says Aunt Meli shriek. “My poor son ..” Aunt Meli whose daily life is so calm, gentle, and affectionate, and rarely let anything mess up the peace of life of her beloved niece, Gwen, at that very moment his heart was completely broken, crying incessantly and uncontrollably in the chair not far from Gwen and Lucia sat down.
Uncle Joe, who heard his wife crying, approached to calm her down. While Kayden himself glanced slightly at Uncle Joe and Aunt Meli, he looked at the two of them while taking pity.
As for Gwen, she didn't move much. His dark brown bead was in a normal state on his pale face. His gaze was so pushy at the letter that it managed to break his heart in an instant.
Is Kayden in shock? Gwen wondered. He guessed it must be so. The man was clearly pale under his warm yellow complexion, as he wore a formal black suit. There was no way he would have guessed, that his own sister Rainer Kim would do something stupid like this.
“Looks like I should go and warn all the poor people waiting out there,” said Uncle Joe.
Lucia flinched her head towards Uncle Joe while furrowing her brows. “What do you mean, Uncle Joe?”
“I have to tell them that this wedding is cancelled.” With a heavy heart Uncle Joe answered so. The middle-aged man let out a long sigh before saying back, “there is no other option.”
“No need.” Kayden spoke with a flat face and the man straightened his body to face Uncle Joe. He realized that his words were so sudden and did not take time to think too long, making everyone in the room shocked.
“What do you mean, huh?” exclaimed Uncle Joe who held back furious. “This is all because of your stupid and selfless sister. He should have told us in advance if he wanted to cancel the wedding with our dear niece. Your sister doesn't deserve to be called a man—”
“I'll marry my dearest nephew, Uncle and Aunt,” Kayden said firmly. “I'm getting married to, Gwen Sandriana Decker.” Kayden said without any hesitation so that everyone in the room was shocked again. Moreover, Gwen whose name was called by Kayden, immediately she shone a sharp look on the man's face.
“Don't be crazy, Mr. Kayden!” exclamation Lucia held back furious. For this one business, of course he will defend his best friend. His sense of politeness suddenly disappeared to the boss where he worked. “Mr. Kayden, don't play with my best friend and—”
“At the moment my condition is sane and I have no intention of playing your best friend, Miss Lucia.” Kayden suddenly cut open Lucia's unresolved sentence so that the woman instantly pursed her lips.
Kayden momentarily fell silent, then looked up and looked directly at Gwen. His black bead was extremely vigilant, but it was unshakable when it locked onto the woman's gaze.
“In exchange for my sister, will you marry me, Gwen?” Kayden asked him seriously.
