Touching Your Heart

Touching Your Heart
Patience Kayden

Inside the bathroom, Gwen tried to forcefully open her wedding dress with a feeling of despair. His fingers trembled, his body shivered, and his expression until now was still raging in an agonizing war of hatred.

“Today, Mr. Kayden has managed to destroy me.” Gwen's voice sounded raucous and her tone was irritated. She was still trying to unbutton the little pearl on the back of her dress neck. "She should have helped me ruin this dress too.”

Because Gwen had trouble opening it, or rather said she was impatient, the woman finally pulled her dress to tear instantly. But Gwen did not care. Really don't care.

Suddenly the most important thing in her life was to remove the dress to get rid of her body. Get rid of everything related to Rainer, or his wedding day with an unexpected man who firmly proposes himself as his sister's successor.

Until it did not feel Gwen let out clear circles that flow away from her eyelids. The tears that he had endured since, escaped easily. Shortly afterwards, with the back of her ice-cold hand before stepping into the shower room, she wiped her tears so violently.

His trembling fingers, found a water tap and turned it around until a slight swish of hot warm water smoldering down on him. Then he stood up and did not move, only allowing the stinging water to sweep across his body.

His eyes closed, then he raised his head up to greet the water. Gwen did not care if the warm water was a little hot it could have burned her smooth skin, as long as it could scorch any trace of Rainer's shadow from within her mind.

Gwen had no idea how long she had been standing like that. But from the dark alley of his recesses of consciousness, faintly faint he noticed a knock that sounded from outside the bathroom door. He ignored it and kept his head raised to the fountain.

At once Gwen cursed at her own stupidity as her memory recalled the events of two months ago. In fact, he had known since he first stood in front of Kayden with his hands in Rainer's possessive grasp, that Kayden would do everything to break their relationship. And foolishly, Gwen believed too much that Kayden Kim would let Gwen marry her brother.

“Rainer! Oh my God ..” Gwen thought sadly when Rainer's handsome, smiling face appeared to torment her. “Why did he take care of me? Why is he doing this?”

“Gwen!” The loud bang on the bathroom door made him jump. His feet almost slipped on the wet floor as soon as he heard a heavy sound from Kayden.

It turned out that Kayden did not give up and ran away like his sister. The man was still standing right on the other side of the bathroom door. As always, Kayden must be ready to hold the responsibility until the end.

Kayden Kim is the eldest mother of Rainer Kim's more successful half-brother, and the famous head of the Kim family. Kayden officially serves as the head of the Kim family, after their father Bastian Kim died five years ago of heart disease.

As for her birth mother, she chose to divorce from Kayden's father and left Kayden fifteen years ago with her father, unable to accept the fact that her husband had a son from another woman.

Since then, Kayden has turned a little colder and has become a responsible man in every way. He was determined not to be like his father who had betrayed his mother, much less to defile their sacred marriage vows.

Kayden Kim, a man with more than enough shoulders to receive anything proffered at him. And of course Rainer had indirectly thrust Gwen to Kayden today, Gwen thought with a bitter smile.

“Gwen ...”

The voice sounded closer and Gwen opened her eyes, turning to stare blankly at the thick stream of steam around her. And he vaguely found Kayden standing with a towel stretched right outside the open shower room.

“Who allows Mr. Kayden get in here?” said Gwen, too numb to bother with her own nudity when the water was still pouring on her body.

Kayden turned his gaze back as he walked slowly closer to Gwen to turn off the water tap. “Come,” he said slowly, then with a quick movement he covered Gwen's body with a large towel she was carrying. “You've been long enough in the bathroom.”

“Long enough for what?” said Gwen ketus. "Again, I'm not going anywhere!”

Kayden finally dared to look at Gwen's grim face when the large towel had covered the woman's body. “Hidden here will not make all problems disappear!” hatchlings.

Kayden gritted his teeth before he said, “Unfortunately, I can't do it! And you—” For a moment he paused his sentence. "Love your body! Do not linger in the bathroom—”

“He doesn't want me,” muttered Gwen slowly. “Rainer doesn't really want me.”

“Gosh ..." exclaimed Kayden frustrated at being sick of seeing Gwen still remembering Rainer. “Listen to me good well, Gwen.” Kayden's heavy voice reigned. “Rainer may want you, but she still loves Valerie her first love. Even though he still has no right to promise anything to you while still loving Valerie.”

“And you have managed to bring the woman back to Rainer's life,” whispered Gwen accuses.

“Ya.” Kayden took a long breath. “I'm really sorry, Gwen. And you have every right not to believe this regret of mine. But you think, what if you and Rainer are married, but Rainer still loves Valerie? Wouldn't that ruin your marriage?”

Somehow, Kayden's apology and explanation so pierced the woman's heart. With all the anger that raged in Gwen, she slapped the man so hard.

However, Kayden accepted it. Receiving the slap completely without blinking. He simply stood looking at Gwen with cold brown eyes on her sharp face, and her lips formed a thin, gloomy line.

Gwen felt like crying, but couldn't. He once wanted to scream, kick, and hit the man standing in front of him in order to release all the wounds and anger that were mounting in him, but he expressed his intention. His slap that was cast on Kayden's right cheek, seemed to have drained the little bit of energy left on him.

Without guilt, Gwen just went outside and left the bathroom. He ignored Kayden who walked after him.

“While, put on my pajamas. It's new and I haven't been able to wear it. But it was washed and ..” Kayden did not continue his sentence because he saw Gwen who immediately grabbed the pajamas and returned to the bathroom to wear the nightgown.

Calmly and patiently, Kayden waited for Gwen to come out of the bathroom while sitting on the lip of her bed. His gaze was still staring at the bathroom's arched door, hoping Gwen would soon emerge from behind it. He was still worried about the woman if she did something stupid like that again.

A few minutes passed, Kayden was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief because he saw Gwen who had gone out of the bathroom in her pajamas. The sleepwear looked oversized that covered her smooth white body.

“I don't want us to sleep one bed.” Gwen ruled with a stroke of power. “If there is another room, I better sleep there. Even if there is no other room, I can sleep on the sofa.”

Kayden stood up and smiled bitterly. “You're not going anywhere. You should sleep here, and I won't sleep in another room,”. “I'll sleep on that couch.” He raised his chin slightly pointing towards the leather chair next to his bed.

“Serah!” Gwen answered again cynically. Without waiting for long, he immediately rushed up to the bed. The woman ignored the whereabouts of Kayden who was still standing by the side of the bed. Closing his eyes, he re-ruled Kayden. “Let the lights on!” resounding. “Because I need lighting after my heart is gloomy all day.”

“OK, I won't turn off the lights,” Kayden said gently. "You need to know one thing, Gwen. At some point, you should realize that some people can live in your heart, but not in your life.”

Gwen only let out a tired sigh before she closed her eyes. It felt like she was so reluctant to respond to the words of the man who now officially holds the status of her husband.

“Sleep, Gwen.” Kayden pulled out a luxurious grey velvet blanket to cover his wife's body. However, the woman immediately threw the blanket down violently so that it fell on the floor.

Kayden remained silent. Instead the man sighed as he took the blanket off the floor and placed it next to Gwen. He then moved his feet towards the sofa to lay his tired body.

“Goodnight, Gwen,” said Kayden gently staring at Gwen's back from a short distance away, as they chose to rest her body and mind on their respective beds.

Gwen immediately opened her eyes, but her lips were still tightly closed. Although he was very clear about hearing Kayden's words, he preferred to be quiet. Closing her eyes, the woman tried to eliminate today's bad events that happened in her life. It felt like he was so tired of thinking about it that even drowsiness approached him.
